Gifted Servant of God. I love the way you teach. And you have helped me immensely to improve my preaching. God bless you in every faculty of your life.
26:38 I have listened to many men preach and teach over the years, but I don’t recall one of them speak at any length about the thief on the cross. This dying man and his plaintive plea is typically passed over. Pastor Begg has spoken of this man, and Christ’s astounding mercy at that moment, in numerous sermons. Until I heard Alistair preach on this unnamed criminal’s promised salvation by Jesus of Nazareth I thought my loud cheering of this particular story to be possibly misplaced. Christ, and Christ alone, is my only hope for salvation. Remember me, O Lord. What manner of love is this?!!!
Joe Wright, it is a love which if you ever learn, as I learned (after a woman I had pledged unconditional love for had angered me) that I didn’t truly love that way, the Spirit convicted me and spoke to my heart, if you learn to love the way you claim, maybe you’ll understand the way I love you.
Excellent sermon! I'll need to listen to it a few more times to breakdown the outline of what the gospel is. I've been asking myself is succinctly IS the Gospel. I hear the Gospels (first 4 books of the NT), the Gospel of the Kingdom, the Gospel of God, etc. But exactly what is the Gospel? I think it is in this sermon but I need to break it down into the essential, succinct elements. It's a bit sad that many gospel tracks are not complete.

@@mitchellc4 see I find it funny you changed the words in the scripture i provided to "from heaven" but you go above and beyond to highlight one little word in the Lord's prayer to make your point. Additionally if you read the Greek you'll understand that it does not say your kingdom come to earth in the sense of geographic shift, but in the sense of His kingdom would be established and grow in the hearts of men. You can't have a kingdom without servants citizens. Thirdly, if you read revelation with the hope of getting some insight on future events I think you immediately go wrong; i know Alistair agrees here. It's a metaphoric and symbolic book meant to have purpose for all Christians all across time. The message is simple, Christ will return, there will be a resurrection and judgement of the wicked. As for the saints, do not fear, do not be seduced, and persevere for the Lord has already won. The Lord's kindgom on earth is now in the hearts of men. When the bible speaks of Christ coming a second time it almost always follows with the end and judgement and new earth.
