That was awesome! As always, very well demonstrated.
I use a splitter pretty often, and starting at that grip made my life a whole lot easier. From there I can slide my fingers into my other pitches with minimal wrist movement. Great point on the arm path too, as I've noticed I restrict/shorten my arm more on the fastball and breaking ball than I do with the split.
Thanks for sharing - splitter grips are definitely tough to get without tipping it.
This is good stuff coach!
thank you for watching, Vex!
@@DanBlewett you bring me back to a real good time…I’m 45 now but love watching you and reminiscing….I think of everything I did right or wrong.
That's why we play.
@@vektacular Why stop playing? I'm just shy of you trying to get hits off guys 1-2 years out of college. As long as your body cooperates keep playing!
@@deepzone31 I feel like all I do is work and I only have time for work and maybe some golf….I am actually an ex-pro roller hockey player….when I played it felt like the older I got …the faster time went. My baseball career ended during my college beginnings pretty much because I dedicated so hard to hockey….I really regret it now looking back. As for present day I work about 48-56 hours a week and my summer is based around golf. I would need another person that I know to start playing in order for me to even think about it and plus I’m pretty old….45
Nobody is talking about where second base is
its behind the pitchers' mound
Thanks for the great video. Any good pitches that come decently fast and break a little bit?
Gyro sliders are probably your best bet with this one.
🤦🏻♂️
Slider.
Check out the change up video on this channel, a good change up is worth a thousand hanging sliders.
Cutter or sinker
I play in an rec adult league, and have a knuckle curve with a grip that can be a little tricky to get. I try to mix up my digs, but after a recent game, an opposing player comes up to me and says that every time I throw the knuckle curve I flex my index finger which is outside of my glove. It's completely subconscious and now I have to actively think about keeping that finger straight. Like I need one more thing to think about up there. lol. (I also catch myself with different arm angles at the set position, so I have to think about that as well.)
Thanks for sharing - it really can be tough, and its certainly one of the last things you want to spend brainpower on while out there on the mound.
I had three pitches when I played…nothing special…4seam, 2seam and a change up….my 2seamer barely moved but it did….of course I only could throw about 65mph….in school that was considered decent I remember
I faced a guy a couple of weeks ago that went curve or change grip in the glove then would always dig for his fastball. It's like playing with a cheat code. I hope he doesn't watch your video.
sometimes you wonder how no one on their own team sees it and helps him?
