One thing I noticed while I listened to these stories was that the tone changed between the first and second. The 1st story sounded like it was written as a children's story, but now it sounds more mature. This might be due to the story being from the perspective of an Ogryn who would later get the Bone'ed upgrade, so now Gav has a higher intelligence, and the tone of the story has changed.
Hes also 10 years older and considered old for his race.
Bone'eads are Ogryn modified with a neural chip in their head to make them smarter and more competent. They are usually bodyguards or squad leaders.

Tala was a Sister Repentia, meaning she’d fled from battle or disgraced herself somehow in a similar way, and now fights without armour or a gun, in penance

repentia is so loved now that some sisters sign themselves up just because they feel they have sinned. The lead character of Mark of Faith doubted her place in the emperors plan and so signed up. Celestine really romanticized the repentia for the order.

@@snaildude268 Commissar Cain got tainted by Slaanesh but the inquisitor pulling his strings might have trusted Jergan to dispel it. Sororitas are a lot more vigilant.

"Bone Head" is the term for Ogryn sergeants. Since they have to command the other Ogryns, their receive a cybernetic implant to increase their intelligence: is the "metal piece in the head" Gav was referring to.
These are Chaos Cultists of Slaanesh and Slaanesh Deamons. The thing that speaks to Gav is a Keeper of Secrets. A Greater Deamon of Slaanesh. If she had not been a Repentia they would have let her die.

Remember that Ogryns tend to be dumb, or at least child-like. They needed someone with at least average intelligence to watch over and lead the Ogryns into battle.
I think it was genius to leave her motivations mysterious for a while before they turned out to be wholesome and protective. Happy ogryn hugs can easily mean broken ribs and she might have been relishing pain too much etc. etc.

They named the tank pattern after him, they named another after Rogal Dorn
Yea in 40k leman russ almost always refers to the tank, 30k they mean the primarch. The space wolves actually found the STC for the tank so they got to name it. The Space Wolves Primarch leman russ has been missing since M31. One day during a feast he just got up and went ""I'm going into the warp, ill be back at the end. During the final battle. During the wolf time" and hasnt been heard of since. The space wolves have been looking for him on and off. They call it "the great hunt". No one knows what hes actually doing or what information hes working off of, (except magnus but hes a jerk and wont tell). Its suspected hes looking for "the tree of life" which may be able to heal the emperor but thats just based on a single throwaway line that came from someoen who didnt know for sure and not Russ himself. Russ only confirmed hed be back at the end. So I guess during the final battle when everything looks bleak and chaos is about to score its final victory, "who let the dogs out" will start playing to usher in the wolf time and Leman russ will bust out of a warp portal and join the battle.

I've absolutely loved the Gav and Bob videos from the first, crying on the first video of course. After the second video, I looked into the history of the stories and it started on 1d4chan, with different authors picking up the subsequent stories after that. Each one is gold and deserves to be published

There are movies, but they're only about Space Marines, typically the Ultra Marines. What we'd love to see, is a movie about Imperial Guard, or Orks

I never get more excited than when a new Vox in the Void narration comes out.
My only tiny criticism is I wish you had left the very end in when the Lemen Russ Tank crushes Gav’s present, and no one is there to see. Shows how brutal, capricious, and cruel the world of 40k is.
She was turned into a Servitor! Fuck. They didn't even let her die! How can Gav move on from her death if she hasn't even physically died?
I think the tank was named after Leman Russ because it was like a friendly insult to name a cute old antique after him and he thought it was funny when they found the old blueprints for it. The primarchs were genius weapon designers and space wolves are nice people so he wouldn't really want to deploy a tank that needs meat grinder tactics to defend it's sides. 10,000 years later it's the most reliable tank the Imperium can mass produce.
You missed at the very end, the narrator mentions the little statuette left out on the battlefield. It's the last few seconds of the vid... He says it gets crushed by a tank and no one noticed.

The thing is with Commissars, some of them anyway, Know that they cant treat Ogryns like they due normal Guardsman. You kinda have to be nicer and gentle as some of them are just like big Kids mentally and others might squish you if youe meqn to them. Ogryns are pure hearted beings and are the best of friends a man could have

As I understand 40K lore, the Imperial Guard named the Leman Russ tank after the Space Wolves primarch
I don’t do the warhammer table top war gaming but I do read and listen to a lot of this stuff. I think that when it finally makes it to the screen for a mainstream audience something will be lost in translation. It’s a big leap from the theater of the mind to the silver screen
