It's a common saying in card games going back years with MTG. If you play a high cost card(5+ mana) and it does not immediately impact the board it does "nothing." The reason for the saying is that most games, with exception of control vs control, can close out games between T5 and T7. Generally speaking, especially in MTG, your 5+ mana cards need to impact the board instantly to win you the game or destroy the opponent board to prevent them from winning.
The Viktor buff is no joke, my favorite thing in this patch. Been waiting forever for him to be good. Also.the flashbomb change is pretty nice, though I don't think they went far enough (top 5-6 would have been ideal)
The way to counter mono shurima is a nab deck as funny as it sounds. Why? Well, it should be pretty obvious but just in case one doesnt know why let me explain: When they get the emperor's deck 90% of the time the prio goes instantly to you because they do it with a xerath summon or a unit summon most of the time. So they just now got their emperor's deck and couldnt predict yet to shuffle it. It's your turn and you have nab in your hand. What does nab do? It draws the bottom non-champion card from the enemy deck. What is always at the bottom from the emperor's deck when it gets created? Ascended's call. Thats the best chance one gets against a lvl 3 azir and xerath. You can thank me later, go and build your nab deck and let them give you your wincon ;)
Ascended's call win the game for you? I think no. Ascended's call only summon lvl 2 Nasus and lvl 2 Renekton. Ascended champ lvl 3 (Azir and Xerath) is more stronger in longer game if you manage to nab Ascended's call.
@@lorenzocorrea7178 They have that 1 out of every 4 games in their hand. I'm taking 3/4th winrate over 1/10th. And to them taking you down really fast... you only need mana 7 to play that. you can survive one turn with bilgewater early units (and whatever region you choose to put in second, maybe ionia for stuns? i dunno, im not that good in deckbuilding)
3:40 It's 5 mana remove a 4 cost investment. You can look at it that way too. Since you payed 2 to have it 1 hp harder to remove. It was a 2 for one, since you drew one.
@@IHunter2k Lee Sin has a 7 mana effect, takes x mana to activate. Costs 5 to drop x to get challenger. It's just part of the card. Hexite Cristal is a what mana effect, Echo's spell is actually how much. That's not the point. Accounting for the mana spent up to that point is the real "balancing" issue. Effectively, you can say that player A has spent x amount of mana while player B has spent y amount of mana and the board state is as such. really fun and strong deck, got me to diamond and still climbing with an insane winrate. has a ton of different ways to win, from fast wide boards, to elusive to viktor ohk to aphelios grinding down your opponent
On game 2 , I was thinking to kill Azir, and that mana, opponent would have to play either Xerath or Azir again, and because Azir was already leveled up , wouldn't advance the sun disc and would be forced to wait on his turn to flip the disc . It is fun how much options is there to approach the deck
19:50 that was the worse play you could done there Grapplr. @@nightphoenixv Calm down kiddo. Quicksand is minus 2 damage on two targets. Not taking 4 damage against burn is good since it lacks resources. So it will drop targon from deck to add bandle city to not run out of resources which will end up yordles in arms. And I agree, bandle city burn is a much better deck against mono shurima compared to this deck. But not everyone is degenerate, especially Grapplr.
"Play viktor to counter mono shurima" what a time to be alive
It’s a beautiful day in Runeterra, indeed
i think just destroy the sun disc you'll have a 50% chance to win
The opponent plays Starshaping to heal and invoke 7+ cost card
Meanwhile GrappLr: Okay, 5 mana do nothing that's good.
it doesn't proactively affect the board state. in essence it does nothing.
In that current time it technically do nothing to the board state. Not the actual game state though.
