Haha, why am I not surprised your motivation is a husky? That's the same reason I'm having to build a fence, too! My sweet lab would never consider destroying my garden, but the husky makes it her life's mission.
Thanks! I'm actually building another one today for a customer of mine👍🏻 Make sure you check out my dog pen tour vid for a few more tips! Good luck on your build!
Very nice, just what I was looking for. I would have liked to have seen the final piece at the start of the vid, so I knew what 'we' were working on.. But very nice and thanks for sharing. Simple, effective and good lookin'.
Great video man! I recently lost my precious dog and we are adopting a new pup soon. We are homeowners and are going to build a kennel/doghouse area soon! Loved your video and techniques, and even the cheesy humor at the end! Bravo! I definitely subscribed!✌
Thanks! Sorry to hear about losing your dog. They really become part of the family. Good luck with the new puppy though! Hope the new kennel works out well for you! If you haven't already, check out my dog pen tour vid for a few more tips👍🏻
If you check out my dog pen tour vid you can see that I went 16x16 or 2 panels. I'm on bedrock so I attached them together and backbraced the joint. Corners were plenty sturdy. I was able to cement the posts on either side of the gate. If you were to make an actual fence with longer runs I would definitely recommend setting posts between each panel. A little tip if you do that, set your posts first then build the panels to the distance between posts. Way easier to build a half inch shorter or whatever than to get the posts exactly 8' apart. Good luck and thanks for the comment!
Great video! However, the correct tool for part of this task is wire cutters instead of tin snips. Using tin snips in this manner is akin to using your mother's pinking shears to cut paper.
How do you connect the panels? I love the idea but I would need to make a run bigger than this with lots of panels side by side how would I connect them ?
@@Watergirl_83 It all depends on the individual needs of someone. These panels are less likely to bend and or break with a larger animal or person trying to get in. Lighter materials, thinner wood will still be strong enough for many people's needs.
Yes, it's 14 gauge. You can pick it up at any home centre. It's been holding up perfectly so far. Make sure and check out my dog pen tour I built with these panels for a few tips. ua-cam.com/video/3sPHppkVMR8/v-deo.html Thanks for the comment!
You could essentially make the panels any size you want, but they would get much harder to manage if they were much bigger. If you're using posts I would dig and set them in the ground at your desired spacing/locations and then build the panels to the exact size of the space between posts. Easier in my opinion than building them and trying to set posts to match. Check out my completed pen tour for more tips! ua-cam.com/video/3sPHppkVMR8/v-deo.html Thanks!
You would do it the same way as a normal wooden fence, but I would install the posts first, keeping the spacing under 8’ then build the panels to the exact measurements between the posts. They’ll all be a little different. Hope this helps! Good luck!
Depends where you live and what the price of lumber is at the time. Basically the cost of six 2x4's, 1 10th of a 100' roll of wire, and a few screws and staples. A quick call to your local lumber yard or home centre will get yo the info you need. Hope this helps.
The box at the end was just to show a few quick ideas of what you could do with the panels. It wasn't a finished cage. The same style of panel can be made any size and with the addition of a cross brace could be used as a gate/door. Thanks for the comment!

Idk why this was so satisfying to watch. Maybe it’s the fast forward effect lol
Best dog kennel video on the tube, and this is how I'm going to build my kennel.

Thank you for share this great idea and you make me laugh a lot last minutes 😂😂
Perfect! Thank you. I need to build an indoor version right inside near the dog door as like a “dog mud room” so I’m thinking this will be perfect. 🖤
mad hammer bro, got the same one, 20oz estwing straight claw, best hammer in the tool box, i love mine!!!

Excellent video...no talking all visual....good job Bobby .....and fast forward for the mundane parts
Would you make a video of how to make some post for that fence
What about a gate door though?
Exactly what I was looking to make thank you so much for sharing
I liked the second I saw his motivation. 😂
Great video
Good speed of video, nice music, easy to follow, i give you a 10! :)

What gage fence wire did you use? Thanks for the help!
Damn it's been 2 years and still didn't get an answer.
Four now 😂@@whatinthegoddamn
Another comment says 14 guage 😅❤
What would you use as a post to connect them together as a fence ? Not a boxed cage.. Awesome video!

Love your intro
Loved it very smart n makes it seem so easy
Salam dari q di indonesia ya kaka❤
That was entertaining to watch 👍
How does it hold up??? Is it sturdy and firm or can the wind knock it down
How are you supposed to get in ?
Great video! However, the correct tool for part of this task is wire cutters instead of tin snips. Using tin snips in this manner is akin to using your mother's pinking shears to cut paper.
Awesome job buddy
Great video just what I was looking for, but where's the door?
What I actually built with the panels... ua-cam.com/video/3sPHppkVMR8/v-deo.html
Looks really nice and durable! 👍
So inspiring👍👍👍
How do you connect the panels? I love the idea but I would need to make a run bigger than this with lots of panels side by side how would I connect them ?
They sell brackets at hardware store ...can choose hinged or flat
That funny. Husky will be jumping out or digging out soon.
A cheaper alternative is 2x4 on one side and 1x4 on the other
I was wondering if it could be made with 1x's.. It should still be sturdy enough, right?

How many 2x4s to use/buy because it seems the measurements in video is for one panel
6 per panel. Times how many panels you need 👍
👌🏾
This is exactly what I want to do to fence in my back yard for my dog. What is the gauge of the fencing? 14?
Yes, it's 14 gauge. You can pick it up at any home centre. It's been holding up perfectly so far. Make sure and check out my dog pen tour I built with these panels for a few tips.

Where can I buy the supplies and how much is that in total?
You can buy everything at your local building centre.
Bits of wood Workshop ok thanks
Can you list the materials you used in the description box please? Thank you
Is it possible to build larger panels or would that make it not sturdy? Also could I make length posts longer to post them underground?

@@bitsofwoodworkshop9393 thanks, that helps
Yes this is what I need to do. That way I can bring the kennel when we move
Thank you
Nice door
i want to do this. can you please explain how you would use these panels to make a fence that has posts that goes into the ground please

@@bitsofwoodworkshop9393 how would you attach the panels to the posts?
How are you suppose to get in and out? Jump over every time?
It was just a quick example of some ideas. Here’s a link to what I actually made with the panels. ua-cam.com/video/3sPHppkVMR8/v-deo.html
How many wood panels did you need
What size wood screws?
2 1/2 is what I used.
How much did all this run you
How would you make a door with it
Trying to build one around the doggy door area to keep my husky out of the mud in rainy days
What would you use/do to make these individual panels portable and freestanding?
What size staples did you use?
They were 7/8 galvanized staples.
Skip the thin wire and use cattle panels instead.
What was the price per panel
Depends where you live and what the price of lumber is at the time. Basically the cost of six 2x4's, 1 10th of a 100' roll of wire, and a few screws and staples. A quick call to your local lumber yard or home centre will get yo the info you need. Hope this helps.

@@bitsofwoodworkshop9393 what woulf be the best way to add a door ?
Marvel should make a character called overkill so you will have a role in marvel universe
I'm building a fence around my cars my dogs can have the yard just stay away from my vehicles lol
cool i work at a fab. shop time to stop being lazy and have some fun ill emulate your idea
Did you just throw ur dog in there over the fence? Lmaojk
Yeah, poor guy is still stuck in there.😅
Thats Dog jail. Would cost an arm and a leg to build a sizable area this way. Not what I was looking for
Ммдя!
The measurements don't add up
Sure they do, the pieces overlap. Lumber is 3 1/2 wide x 2 is 7. 41+7=48 89+7=96. The panel is 48x96.
@@bitsofwoodworkshop9393 Got it! I thought 2x4s were 4" wide.
Glad I could clear that up. Thanks for checking out the vid!
kind of defeats the purpose of the diy hog wire fence though, because that is not at all costs effective. It was a good video though
So expensive in today’s environment
Great visually however, worst music ever! Goodness.
If it works for a husky, that's a pretty good test.
