Those little imperfections make this recording special. I imagine the studio had time for like two takes, and said, "Good enough. Next song!" They were right, it sounded great on the air!
Gotta love how the song gets higher and higher pitch, more intense until the end while maintaining a steady tone out so it's not really stressful for the players. Just enough of a change per minute so that the contestants know what's up.
I need this theme music for the next time I go shopping with one of the women in my family. "Hurry! You're almost out of time! Forget the sweater! She's heading for the shoes department! You've got a minute left! Go, go, go!"
Running through an ancient Mayan temple in search of ancient treasure solving puzzles and getting scared to death by temple guards with this dramatic music blaring in the background made for the ultimate adrenaline rush! I freakin' loved this show, and I still consider the Temple Run to be the coolest final round in any game show ever conceived! And might I add, Silver Snakes forever!
Great video. I can only imagine what the kids must have been going through, with this music going, while running through the temple. The music is giving that vibe of run for my life, and don't stop, and the kids are literally having to move and think much faster than normal, putting even more pressure on them to complete the run. For me, the Blue Barracudas run in the Heart-shaped pillow will always hold a special place in my heart, because Missy did the run solo, but she had one pendant, so they really had more pressure on them, with a higher percentage rate of the run failing, but they pulled it off. The music really puts pressure on you, when you hear it, because your feeling what all of those kids were feeling...move, think, and don't stop, until its over.
I used to think this song playing in the background was actual NES music, but instead, it's done with actual synthesizers or something. It sounds fantastic, and fits excellently with the NES style, composition-wise and in the style of its instruments. I love it.
Was doing a complete Barrows run in RuneScape just awhile ago with UA-cam in the background. Just as I completed the run, this song came on. Instead of teleporting out of a crumbling crypt, I felt obligated to run out. It was the best Barrows run I ever had.
Wow man it's amazing to listen this song when I always listened on the run, I felt like in the run Lol. Thank to god I born 1995 but I watched in the 2000's the tv show in Mexico; my dream was to participate in legends but I didn't know they done in 1996 or 1997. Nickelodeon in Mexico played legends from 2000 through 2003, 2 years later Mexico got the channel Nick Gas (2005) and I started to watch it again until 2009 when it stopped suddenly Nick Gas. Sincerely I lived an amazing childhood.
+Kras They'll more then like have to fulfill some requirements in order to get on the show. 1. Be strong ( at least strong enough to do 20 or more push-ups without stopping ). 2. Be fast ( able to run up to AT LEAST 10 MPH ). 3. Be smart ( able to do a simple history quiz consisting of at least 20 questions, without missing more then one question ). 4. Stamina. As you said, nowadays, finding all 4 of these properties in a child is rare. So yes, Legends wouldn't be fit for today. I'd rather they not try it and wind up DESTROYING our childhood memories.
I'm not fast, but this theme would make me go fast, because this really pumps me up, this song, that is. I'd go like a bat out of hell, just for this song, maybe even run through a brick wall! :). And plus, I'm smart, had a 3.5 GPA in college! Loved this show when I was 12, made me do really well in history, lowest grade I got was an A-!
Listening to this reminds me how nerve racking it was to watch the temple runs as a kid. I’m pretty sure I screamed at those players through every room they went into in that temple
Dude...do you know how long I've been looking for this song? All I ever found before this was remixes, but this is the real thing! Thank you for the awesome music from an awesome show.
Lotht Season 2 & 3 has always been my favorite Seasons of this game show because, of the Jungle Theme with plants and Olmec's Gate that lowers down to get inside.
PUSH THE BUTTON ON THE SIDE DOOR!..... NO THE OTHER ONE!..... TURN AROUND!!..... COME ON RUN FASTER!!!.... NO SKIP BACKWARDS UPSIDE DOWN!!!.... HURRY UP!!!! family in the house to me....... "SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!" who else was yelling at the tv at this moment as a kid? lol
Assembling the Silver Monkey should've been no big deal, but most people had a hard time doing just that. It also sucked that ninja-kicking a temple guard was against the rules.
This should play in ANY hockey arena, on any level, in the final minutes when a team is behind and pulls the goaltender. I DARE any DJ in any hockey arena to do it.
I noticed that the heart room had a temple guard nearly every time.. Did anyone else find themselves screaming at the TV to tell the slow players to hurry up? Man I miss this show!
Top 3 classic Nick game show I loved how the six teams of two competed to retrieve one of the historical artifacts in the Temple by performing physical stunts & answering questions based on history mythology, geography. After three elimination rounds only one team remains, who then earns the right to go through the Temple to retrieve the artifact within three minutes and win a grand prize. The Temple Guards, always scared the crap out of me as a kid. I alwayz thought I could do so much better than the kids on the show, but I never got my chance.
I love how you can tell the notes were recorded live. You can hear the slight imperfections in every section, and the messed up notes. It's like a DOOM WAD where it records all the player's movements.
This show... I wanted to be on it or Double Dare so badly that I kept bugging my parents about vacationing in Florida so I could try out for all the Nick game shows. I never used to watch the Temple Run if one team had less than both pendants- but with the whole background stuff about purposefully making the Temple Run too hard to conserve prize budget...
Always thought of this as average when the show was on. Now that I'm hearing it without any background noise, I have to say that this is one of the catchiest and dramatic things I've ever heard.
For a good laugh, play this music while watching the final running scene from *The Mummy (1999)* when everyone is running to escape from Hamunaptra as it collapses all around them. Or heck, just about any similar scene from any movie will work too. :)
Reza Lustig I haven't seen the 3rd movie personally so I wouldn't know, and while I'm tempted to buy or rent it just to see what all the bad hype is about, I don't think I will if it's really as bad as a lot of people say.
***** If you start this song just as Hamunaptra is starting to collapse (about a couple of seconds before Rick says "Time to go!"), and if you let it continue playing during Beni's final scene in the treasure room, the song should end just as Rick, Evy, and Jonathan are watching the destruction from a safe distance (just before Ardeth Bay's last appearance in the movie). I haven't calculated the length of the whole scene yet, but that should give you some idea of how long it is.
Reza Lustig It's alright. The Mummy 3 has gotten a lot of flak, though, so I imagine something about it must be pretty bad for it to get so much negative hype. Personally I've only seen the first two movies and the first Scorpion King. The first movie was good, especially for its time; the second was not as good as the first, but was still entertaining in its own right; and the first Scorpion King was pretty good from what I can remember, although it's been a while since I last saw it.
Go Silver Snakes! I always, ALWAYS wanted to wear that silver T-Shirt and do a temple run. That was a dream of mine when I was little and even now, I still want that adrenaline pumping experience.
They should have used a 4 minute version of this in the reboot. In fact, the reboot should of have more of the original music modernize instead of completely new music scores.
Oh how I miss this show. Probably one of my favorite game shows at the time. Next to Double Dare and Nick Arcade (a gameshow where you play Video Games? Hell yeah!!!)
In Seasons 1 and 2, at the last 10 seconds of the run, when you hear the audience chanting, you know the intensity. In Season 3 the last 10 second chanting was removed.
One thing that scared me about the temple: The Dark Forest. One thing that frustrated me about the temple: Watching the kids waste too much time trying to put the silver monkey together while its all backwards.
Me too as well as the Season 2 Jester's Court. The laugh was creepy. So when the player gets there, I mute the TV. Lucky in Season 3, the laugh was removed.
god some awesome memories i watched this show a lot when i was a little kid the thing that scared the crap out of me the most of this was those creepy temple guards that pops out of nowhere also when they are in the trees too
Fellow 90s kids: Put this as your alarm. You'll ALWAYS be on time.
Unless a temple guard stands in your way
@@RhydderchZX Then you better remember to pack your pendants
Nah I can just see me desperately putting the keys in the ignition backwards like the head of the Silver Monkey
After all this years, this music is still giving me chills.

You made my damn day
This song always reminded me of the kids trying to put the monkey together. The struggle of the monkey was REAL !
God, it always hurt watching them screw it up so entirely.
That's what she said.
Right they sometimes when they grabbed the monkey feet then the head so funny
@Jason Bratcher The Forbidden Forest was a bullshit room. There was always a guard in that room no matter what
Gotta love how the song gets higher and higher pitch, more intense until the end while maintaining a steady tone out so it's not really stressful for the players. Just enough of a change per minute so that the contestants know what's up.

I don't know of any other competition for the winning person or team that required the combination of moving and thinking that the Temple Run did.

I always thought it was such a dick move that there would be a temple guard as soon as you walk in the temple...
Season One in a nutshell
I thou the it more so that certain doors wouldn't open every time.
That show was really unfair to kids in that regard. The music is awesome though.
Seems like a dick move at first glance, but it is actually advantageous to the contestants if the first one is taken out quickly.
it actuallly makes it easier for the second player since he/she will have more time
boss battle music

"I am!"
Temple guards are bad news.
“Very good, DunsparceAndDiglett!”

This theme is amazing! Nostalgic! Also mysterious ! It feel like you going through some creepy tomb or temple!

I used to think this song playing in the background was actual NES music, but instead, it's done with actual synthesizers or something. It sounds fantastic, and fits excellently with the NES style, composition-wise and in the style of its instruments. I love it.
I remember thinking it kinda sounded like earlier Castlevania music
I can kinda see that, actually!
Was doing a complete Barrows run in RuneScape just awhile ago with UA-cam in the background. Just as I completed the run, this song came on. Instead of teleporting out of a crumbling crypt, I felt obligated to run out. It was the best Barrows run I ever had.

He would later become the announcer on Shop 'Til You Drop where he played all sorts of crazy characters, including Grandma Curmudgeon.
He also do Animals sounds
He actually made an appearance on What Would You Do in the All Music show
