Check out the atlas on the app or maybe grab Stellarium for PC/Mac (Free) which you can then explore the night sky and zoom through time so you can see what is up and when. At the moment Orion Nebula and other objects as the night progress in the south east (north east if you are in the southern hemisphere) this time of year. There is always a lot North (northern hemisphere) or South (Southern Hemisphere) you can also check out depending on your field of view from your location. Also Jupiter is up at the moment, that's worth a look!
Thanks mate…. Im in Albany, Western Australia, about as far south as you can get, nice dark skies… I have both the Seestar and DWARF 2, I prefer to use the Seestar more than the DWARF.
@@EmberSkyMedia i just want to be able to be effective when showing these items to our outreach events on a screen or projector. as well, how are you interacting with the unit in your current video. i see a "tablet" view in the middle?
From reading, there is a RTMP mode @jay which can have multiple devices connect to it; I haven't tried it yet as I went with station mode for my videos. I use Reflector 4 to image my ipad / iphone to my computer; so you could then connect the computer to a projector. I'll have a video soon but life is busy at the moment and the sky is cloudy.
That feature hasn’t be added yet. You can do it manually (I’m doing a moasic of the California nebula) but you have to combine the photos post-processing on your computer afterwards… and hopefully not miss anything.

What astronomy chart do you have on your phone? I'm having a hard time finding nebula to image between midnight and dawn in February. I should say I'm at 43 degrees north. I'm jealous, as it's bortle 8-9 here. I should say I'm at 43 degrees north. The Seestar is great for grab and go. Don't always have time or room in the car.
SkySafari Pro (6?) right now a lot of nebulas are in the western sky at night and heading to the horizon as March_April is galaxy season as the Milky Way swing around to the summer side.
I have the free version of sky safari. With so few clear nights last couple months, every second of imaging time is precious. With 360mm scope, and light pollution, galaxies are all I seem to find after midnight. Owl nebula in O iii, Sii, is what's up tonight. Small. Galaxies and full moon. You know. Before midnight the southern nebula are slipping away. I'm tempted to purchase a larger mount and OTA soon. Thanks,!
Yep, but good news is in about 2 months the summer nebulas will be arriving and those are pretty snazzy! Trifid is one of my favorites and you can't not image the Lagoon Nebula!
If you have a Ryobi 18V one+ system, you can buy SYMIK 100W USB Charger & 145W Power Source to charge your ZWO SeeStar S50 while using it, it works pretty well.
Do you know if anyone uses Telescopius to do framing of objects for the Seestar S50? If so, do you know what settings they use for the telescope........I tried putting in the specs for the Seestar, but the telescope simulator in Telescopius comes no where close to the view I get in the image that the Seestar captures, got to be something in the cropping or program parameters that causes the disconnect. I found Telescopius helpful in picking targets for my Nikon DSLR and 300mm zoom so I could pick things that would show up a decent size and was hoping to do the same for the Seestar. Thanks.............Bill
Ok, but how do I get that information into Telescopius...........I see no place to set "framing"........I have a place to enter 'Telescope' and a place to enter 'Camera'. Is it just not possible to get Telescopius to show what Seestar would capture somewhat accurately? And what about Stellarium, will it show a representative frame if I use the 1600mm you suggest along with 50mm for the aperature? Sorry for the confusion, just trying to do a better job of picking targets. Thanks...............Bill
Got the settings to work with Stellarium by removing Seestar data from the sensor setting and just going with the numbers you gave me for the Telescope setting. I get a near exact frame view of the images that actually come out of the telescope..............great help, THANKS! Now I can do a much better job of planning what object to shoot knowing what I can expect to get. Still working on Telescopius for when traveling............will keep trying.
Mikey Smith uses 20x80 celestron binoculars with his cell phone camera mounted to it. Binoculars show a true image. With the binoculars other eye piece he can find stars in around 20 seconds
Don't wast time. You are doing segment on the S50...first...do your updates before you start. I have no interest in watching % going up...start you video when you are ready to go. I can understand UA-camrs who fail to edit or prepare for the clip they are about to make
@@ColleenVR thanks, yeah I know its not everyone's cup of tea, but it shows the "real world" of using these products rather than "its amazing!" and people figure out later it takes 20minutes to get a decent image of almost anything.
Nice video Graeme! I would like to try a messier marathon and stream witht je Seestar but i have a lot of obstructions here
Thanks Ioan! Yes it would be hard here too unless I went to a clearer spot or moved around the property for various targets.
I have just received seestar s50 for Xmas how do I know what I can look at on a certain night

This was a fun livestream. I have a SeeStar and have had a chance to use it yet. So, this was great.
Glad you enjoyed the stream! The SeeStar is a great smart telescope, extremely user friendly!

would like some help on the station mode.
I can make a video showing the setup process, is there any specific you are having issues with so I make sure its explained?

Binoculars are great for visual observations!
The filter is not good for galaxy photos.
I think the filter is primarily for nebulas, when the moon is out go with it anyways but I try not to use filters if I can.
