I like communal enclosures because it defies the norm of these creatures, and it's also amazing to watch such defensive and solitary things like tarantulas living together 😊
Whenever I see a new Dark Den video: *quickly prepares earphones* *clicks the video* Been a subscriber for almost 2 years now and I always love all you vids man. Keep up the good work
Dude... I could sit in your room all day watching your critters... you should charge admission! I'd pay $5 to come n peek for half an hour! Who agrees with me?
hi, i have been watching for nearly 6 months now and i have managed to overcome all my fears (except a major bolt!) but i now have a green bottle blue juvinlle! My friend has about 15 tarantulas and in six months iv gone from terrified to owning, feeding and rehoming tarantuals. Thank you so much for your channel!
Hey Petko, u can pick up 'white grease' at home/hardware store & apply a tiny bit on the acrylic hinges. I have used a little hair dryer to make it flow & NO MORE SQUEAKS. Using just a tiny bit does not change the clarity.
391k amazing !! You deserve all your success. Awesome content, humble host...that's the winning combo. Never change Petko!!! Love the dart frogs !!!!! Love from 🇨🇦
The stick insect the one that actually looks like a stick i remember walking in the woods one day when i was like 8 and one fell on me and i freaked out like got goosebumps because that was the first time i ever seen one... Really freaky moment lol and it fell on my shoulder.
Pro Tough when I was in Boy Scouts I was messing with a tree with some kids from my troop and one crawled onto my leg, obviously being this young I thought it was an alien we all screamed and ran away.
You are KILLIN it Petko! Still my favorite content creator, from the day I first watched one of your videos. N. incei gold was one of my first 4 tarantulas. (3 of which are still fat and happy, one, not so much) Mine seems to web massively. A similar setup to your M. balfouri communal would be interesting and visually outstanding. Long live sexy time!
Just want to let u know that I suffer through all the ads on ur channel so that u get paid, ur welcome😂😂 another great video from my favorite spider keeper. I still love to c the frogs 🐸 and all ur animals except the snails, they really gross me out😩 Now u have so much more work to do 😢
I've been watching this channel's videos so much lately. Very awesome to watch, I definitely think I want to get into the Tarantula hobby one of these days. I think I want a Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens to be my first Tarantula, they look absolutely gorgeous. I think though before I get one, I'll start off with a Scorpion or something, maybe a Emperor Scorpion (Pandinus imperator).
I have a balfouri communal, too. Three male and two beautiful female are in there. Unfortunately I do not see them often at all. But awsome to look at when they are out! I hope I never have to rehouse them again - the only disadvantage in the communal keeping: rehousing is a MESS! :D
very nice. i have a few communal scorpions and n. incei but i havent put those communal yet i'm hoping to get an egg sack them keep some of the young together. cool video
Honestly I think the N. incei "normal" is massively underrated. They have those rich but subtle olive green undertones that make their lighter colors pop. Just beautiful 🥰
Amazing collection, I had phasms a few years ago, but with your video on the phidippus, I thought I wanted to have again phasms, phidippus, orchid mantis and dendrobates. We have the same vision, the best enclosure for the animal to reproduce their natural environment 😉 So, thank you!
I love the communal enclosures! I'm not sure exactly why, they just fascinate me. Especially when you can't see any inhabitabts at first, then they all appear from nowhere 😁
The smell you mentioned your assassin bugs having is a defense mechanism among many Hemiptera species; it's most commonly associated with herbivorous species like Pentatomidae and Coreidea, but carnivorous and parasitic species such as Reduviidae and Triatominae can produce it as well to discourage predators.
After you fix the tank you should do a DIY tutorial . Been a while. Maybe show your current design process . One thing I’ve always wanted is a video of someone setting up an enclosure for a terrestrial , arboreal, and fossorial in one video, also explaining sling vs adults enclosure guides. Were it not for much research before I got into keeping I fear I would have deaths . Idk just a few ideas. If you read this thanks for reading and encouraging your audiences about the TRUE nature of our fuzzy friends
You should make a big eco cube out of one of your big terrariums. You could put in a spider, some snails, some roaches, some plants maybe even a frog or something.
Love your animal room. You have an awesome collection, very nice enclosures and an amazing world for the animals and for yourself. But is there dust on the top lids of some enclosures or so it just the light that makes them look like dusty? But it's all very awesome. And a little tip for the broken silicone edge in the poison dart frogs enclosure: try not to get too near to the rest of the silicone. It will also break when you touch it. Remove the silicone in this one edge completely (from bottom to the top), cause the rest above and below the broken part may break as well when you try to repair it. I would say "be careful" but I know you're always careful with your animals and their enclosures :)
A good communal pet is also stone centipedes. They are like small versions of larger ones with the same care. But they can be kept in numbers. And are like 20 dollars on underground reptiles.
clean the vivarium first with amonia before you place the silicone on, new silicone wont stick on old silicone. all of the old silicone will need to be removed for the perfect seal!
Hey Petko, I think you can get away using an Epoxy putty compound to fix the leakage. You can put it on the outside and they come in black colour so it matches with the black cover :)
To the Vivarium with the frogs: you dont need to completely take apart the enclosure! You can just add silicon from the outside which should work. just try it !
Giant African Snails are illegal here in the states unfortunately, which is a bummer because they're SO cute! I don't know how you can have the communal set ups because rehousing them would give me SOOOOOO MUCH anxiety! You've got some cojones, for sure! Great video as always!
My giant african land snails stopped growing too until i put them into a huge tank and they grew 4 times as big . Their foot was bigger than my whole hand and you could see the thousands of teeth and they nibble my hand but not hurt, when they eat cucumbers it is very loud crunching sound , so funny. They will grow to fit their environment, if it is huge they grow huge and are sooo sweet faces :)
I like communal enclosures because it defies the norm of these creatures, and it's also amazing to watch such defensive and solitary things like tarantulas living together 😊
*Enclosures breaks
Petko: "Do you know what this means!?"
Me: "It means a new video on Monday lol 🤣"

Was waiting for this new video! You have grown both in knowledge and presentation pretty well, here is to more!
love your videos, felt so bad when you saw the leak. but glad it wasn't a complete tear down.
Hey Petko, u can pick up 'white grease' at home/hardware store & apply a tiny bit on the acrylic hinges. I have used a little hair dryer to make it flow & NO MORE SQUEAKS. Using just a tiny bit does not change the clarity.

The frog enclosure is stunning
People when they see a big tarantula:AH GET IT AWAY FROM ME CALL THE COPS
The Dark Den:Shoe,shoe 13:11
LOL 'Shoo, Shoo'... I thought when you said Shoe he was looking for a shoe to stomp and I was very confused because that would never be.
The assassin bugs are by far my favorite!
As always great video dude.

Yesssss i asked for this kind of video the other week but got no notification so am a day late to the party
Love you petko
Love the frogs.......it's great that you use the Latin names as it is teaching me how to say them, with a bit of a Croatian accent.
i just love your videos. not because im high, because there good.

At 5:50 there is a free spider just chillin! You messed up his web! XD
wow the circles into the webs were perfect
M. Balfouris are so adorable!
I generally hate «insects», but the way you love them, makes me love them. Now im thinking of adopting a tiger spider of my bathroom...
I just love watching the spiny assassin guys arguing😄

Me personally I like things that house together.. makes for more action ... nice vid✌🏼
I have seen a D auratus in the wild! Was so cool!

I was wondering if you were going to remember the Balfouris.

Communal creature is really great but green spider is a new one for me all I can say is WOW!
Hello Petko !
can we all agree on, that petko is the keanu reeves of all tarantula/exotic animal channels.
Lars XO OMG I could not have picked a better comparison!
I was worried you’d forget the Balfuri 😊 they’re my favourite of your communals 💗
Sasha is the man!

The assassin bugs are super cool.
Will you make the repair a video?
Love your videos btw
Now I have to get myself a communual. I am thinking about M. Balfouri
I need to know where you got your plants in the frog terrarium!
Scorpion Addiction they are regular garden plants, he’s uses fiddlehead ferns, they need moisture, shade, they grow up here in 🇨🇦...
Wanda Steeves // Oh local! Awesome thanks for the tip. I will have to try growing them.
Wanda Steeves // Kind of want to know the pennywort-looking plant though.
Communal enclosures give a sence of it being like the wild
I get to go to the reptile super show in san diego but i live here
"Oh my gAWd" 15:34
Hey where do you buy your containers, or what are they called? sorry your glass enclosures . Thanks
Love Them Dark Den Scare Of Roaches . Eeks And spiders too but epic video for sure...
