    Banggood sent me a current probe to use on my project. I do a quick look at the Hantek probe ($67) then use it in a real circuit application. Teardown: • Hantek CC-65 Current C...

    I use one to measure the sine wave microstepping current for stepper motors. Using a current probe is the only way to get accurate enough peak readings from stepper drivers.

    The power / lo battery leds reminded me of your normal abnormal intro. I do like your Normal / Abnormal indicators.

    These types of clamps can become slightly magnetised which will effect the reading and pre-zero offset. I find demagnetising helps.

    Should you move away from magnetic fields to zero probe? Conductors outside of clamp but close by affect the clamped conductor reading of every Hall effect sensor equipped probe I've collected. Would be nice if there's one that didn't.

    Was looking at investing in one of these when I purchased the Hantek 2C42 since was in the mindset of most "cost effective" for capabilities and performance. Plus later read the 2C42 can be firmware hacked to perform like the better models. Haven't messed with yet. Was thinking however, regarding the current probe... for the price... seemed like a great DIY project to make one from scratch or possibly was thinking hacking a clamp on ammeter signal path for outputting for monitoring the signals. Also, what drove me away was I have more-so in mind to have a larger range of settings so I can measure and log welder current waveforms. Thanks for detailing and demonstrating!

    I got a clamp meter years ago, I've never had a use for it. LOL.

    I own 3 of the Hantek CC-65 and noticed, that one of them was quite outside the specs and showed to high values. So I contacted Hantek how to adjust the CC-65 bei myself? And they really answered, I was quite supriesed...
    If you don't have this information - and you are interessted in - please let me know.

    hi i have a question for you , if i have the scope on 10x and the clamp meter cc-65 set on 1mv/10mA and am messuring 4 volts RMS and 12 volts peak to peak the way i do it is 4 volts = 4000 mv x 10 = 40000 mA /1000 = 40 amps is that right ?? or how much i really have thanks in advance

    • @IMSAIGuy
      @IMSAIGuy  2 роки тому

      I think you can answer your own question. It will either be 4A or 40A. I think it will be obvious which one you have

      @@EnergySeeker if you have the scope set to 10x then the 4V measured is only 0.4V at the probe. so 400mV. so 10mA/1mV * 400mV = 4000mA
