This, and Home Movies, were the cleverest animated shows out there. To say they are missed is a massive understatement of epic proportions. They're like warm hugs on a chilly day.
I remember being a big fan of both as a young kid. I’m sure a lot of it flew over my head, but watching it as an adult I see why I liked it and also why my sense of humor is what it is.
"They're like warm hugs on a chilly day" Perfect. I had many a night that I watched this and Home Movies and much like Tim and Eric, it just captured me and made me really relaxed and at peace.
@@mikejohnson3338 Dude the life and times of tim is my favorite animated show ever. So underrated. They should have kept going with it. I still want more episodes.
I used to watch this with my dad when I was like 8 years old. I had no idea what it was about but it was a cartoon on at night so I was all for it. 20-something years later and I'm in therapy, life's a trip
About the orange juice thing I noticed that too are they were they still doing that back then they give you just this little bit of ours use every time we go to a restaurant or something you just got to make sure they have free refills
"I've seen racism in the north, go up to New England, I was in New England man I saw two Irish dudes beating up an Italian guy, I said now these people are specific."
Incredibly underrated show. I remember leaving this show on and just laughing at the stream of consciousness dialog w/ the hilarious animation of the story they're telling just cracked me up. Great stuff!
That's how most of Lauren Bouchards shows are (Katz, Home Movies, Lucy Daughter of the Devil). They are given a loose script and can improvise to be natural. It wasnt until Bobs Burgers that he ever really stuck with scripts and even then, they use off script dialouge a ton (its the reason for the *unprofessional art style*).
In the 1990’s stand up comics visit their therapist Dr Katz. Laura is the receptionist and Ben is Dr Katz’s son. I love this so much for the very simple, silly, quiet, humor.
This show took Seinfeld's "a show about nothing" idea and amplified it to 11. What Ray Romano said about worrying about babies making faint noises because you know they're waking up is exactly right.
I absolutely love this show. I Praise the ground you walk on for Posting and Sharing these. They're Just Fantastic!!! No matter how I feel, these Postings you took the time to Upload, always make me happy. Thank you!!!. As they say in those Sam Adams Beer Commercials, "ALWAYS A GOOD DECISION",
Now that I'm older, the younger version of me thought this was soooooo DRY hahah when I was about 10. Never understood why people would watch this, but just needed to be older to understand the humor of it
I really thought I was odd for feeling this was so calming to listen to as I try to sleep, but looks like a ton of y’all do too! I remember this show as a kid. And never paid any attention. I absolutely love most of these comedians now in my late 30’s, so hearing their voices is also comforting. Also…what about the family guy skit where Pete’s like “what’s up with your skin, it’s all like, moving around and stuff” and dr.Kats goes “I think I’m having some sort of seizure. 😅
Haha. You really nailed repeating back some funny lines, from a funny show by a very funny man. Hope your fingers aren’t tired as I look forward to seeing your unique take on other videos. Do you have your own channel? Anyway look forward to your college tour.
I remember watching this as a kid, it was often introduced by Penn Jillette in the Comedy Central bump between shows. I can hear his slightly gravely voice now.
i never actually thought ray romano was funny but wow the bug thing was so fuckign true and funny " you dont know if that thing has the gift of flight"
This whole show is a calm rainy morning with coffee.
Robert Copp literally me rn
I know u posted this comment a year ago but this still applies today!!! A perfect description! 😂👏🏽🙌🏾
So on point! 💯
i would get ready for work to this with a cup of coffee years ago.
Nailed it

Both are up there is one of the best! Bobs burgers is good to be fair! But dr Katz is so unique man it’s incredible
I always thought Home Movies was boring as a kid, now I love it.
"They're like warm hugs on a chilly day" Perfect. I had many a night that I watched this and Home Movies and much like Tim and Eric, it just captured me and made me really relaxed and at peace.
whats funny about this is there is no way most people don't find these boring. I love it, but its boring. Its comedy bits animated bad, not clever.
Sometimes I forget that Ray Romano and Dave Chappelle have been consistently kicking it since the 1990s.
easily one of the most stunningly braindead things ive ever read LMFAO
Considering Half Baked and Everybody Loves Raymond came out in the mid 90's, yeah this guys hilarious
@@spimbleswhy is that stunningly braindead?
@@spimbles nah... pointing out x is stupid without insight or comedy is stupider than x itself
I wouldn't quite say that ... about either of them.
this sitcom was like great comfort food
Filmation77 this comment is perfect for these squiggle vision dry humor shows. you're my internet hero lol.
Perfect
None stop babbling is not comforting unless you're into politics.
But more nourishing!
Yes, But healthy. All the comfort food I like is not good for me :)
I like how the dialogue seems like a real-time conversation instead of a one-way dialogue. Makes the series come alive in my opinion.
Especially the laughing seems all improv. As if they're not reading off a script
Oh yeah you can tell a ton of it is improv
Just like The Life and Times of Tim, another great animated show 👍
@@mikejohnson3338 Dude the life and times of tim is my favorite animated show ever. So underrated. They should have kept going with it. I still want more episodes.
@@SubzeroCage Dan, I'm still making my way through Season 3 - I didn't get give it much notice when it came out but now I'm really digging it 😊

Aww little baby Dave Chappelle voice.
His voice sounds a little nervous
He wasn’t that young.
i can truly understand and appreciate this show as an adult. Genius
Me too. As a kid, I thought it was lame.
This shit is soooo funny. I used to see it as a kid and always changed it, but oh how I appreciate it now lol.
About the orange juice thing I noticed that too are they were they still doing that back then they give you just this little bit of ours use every time we go to a restaurant or something you just got to make sure they have free refills
Ha. I just wrote the same comment.
Its funny Dave talking about "he's green, I'm black." Its true....I felt the same way about Piccolo in Dragon Ball Z.
What about Mr. Popo?? 😅
😂😂😂
Nameks make bad hostages too
Definitely sounds like something you should discuss with Dr. Katz.
I often fall asleep to these episodes. Had no idea how awesome this was as a kid.
"Oh you do remember me!"
"Yes, I do."
"Okay...so you're just not interested or excited I'm here?"
"Are those my only choices?"
Damn, she is cold.
she likes to play hard to get I know how to deal with her types
#savage
Maybe you should watch something else.
Oh how times have changed in 25 years. I'm pretty sure that Laura Silverman would not be that cold to Dave Chappelle nowadays!
"I've seen racism in the north, go up to New England, I was in New England man I saw two Irish dudes beating up an Italian guy, I said now these people are specific."
The irony is that they recorded this show in Boston
Great show, thank you for video,. Ray ramano, Dom Irarra. Best comics.
Incredibly underrated show. I remember leaving this show on and just laughing at the stream of consciousness dialog w/ the hilarious animation of the story they're telling just cracked me up. Great stuff!
Everyone on UA-cam thinks everything is “underrated.”
I always liked this show, the small simple jokes in their chatter felt very real and believable.
There is something very charming about this show. Only noticing it as an adult now.
this show seems like all the line we made up on the spot. if it is, then i like it. it makes it seem more genuine then from reading off a script.

i like this . the show is 90% banter/conversation and 10% animation. dave chappelle cameo!? whaaaaaaat !? insane !! cool show.
The entire show is an epic cameo of legendary comedians as patients

carlos correia lol.......
I’m 38 and I used to watch this every time it was on as a kid. Very cool show made with care.
I was a little too young when this came out to get into it, but I’m going to go back and watch. Good stuff!
I’m so jealous how quick on their feet they are with their dialogue
H Jon's best voice role, IMO, is Ben. This retro scripting was a great format.
jfiddude I would have to say archer just because of how sensual it sounded lol
I'd say McGuirk, but it might simply be due to how much I love the character.
I like the devil from z
lucy the daughter of the devil. He's a funny ass devil.
Home movies, archer, Bob's burgers, venture bros, family guy
IDK, I gotta go with John McGuirk. Coach McGuirk is one of the best characters of any comedy ever, not just animated ones.
i friggin love these.seen them all over and over.pease out
"He's green I'm black close enough"
If this humour was any fucking dryer it would fucking disintegrate and I love it
"But save the staples because you know I collect them"
"I remember"
As well as corks .. lol
When Dave pulled the chart out, I LOST it! 😆
This feels like a lot of improv with just a vague script idea, I really like this. It's always nice to hear HJB and also the receptionist is hot.
She’s Sarah Silverman sister, in real life.
So Archer’s real father was a therapist this whole time?
The towel rag being a small glass of orange juice and the desk lady falling asleep made literally laughed my ass off.
love how this show looked like an MS-DOS era video on a PC game
Harry Jon Benjamin (Coach Mcgurick from Home Movies, Bob from Bob's Burgers and many other known roles) is Dr, Katz's son.
This is gold
Absolutely
I Remember this episode lol it was my favorite one. Started following Chappell and Ramano after.
I LOVED this show!!!!!
I love space ghost
I always loved the reference to batboy from weekly world news on Ray Romano's friends shirt😁
I listened to this while walking the dog and realized I was laughing really hard in public.
Best way to sample comedian's acts?
Schedule an office visit to Dr Katz!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love this cartoon!!!! Brings back so many memories!

Thank you , I miss this show.
Sealab 2021, Archer, Home Movies, Frisky Dingo and this all have the same vibe I swear.
I like the aquaman segment
oh i laugh so hard

This is my favorite episode of Dr.Katz!
So funny how Dave Chappelle basically just does all the bits from his special in this episode
It's amazing how many of Dr Katz' clients 'travel a lot' ;)
AshCash147 they’re comedians
Niko Bellic Thats the joke
"my house was the black neighbourhood"

its so funny to watch this now that I have fallen in love with the career of h jon benjamin

sure dates this awesome show
Katz and his son is everything
I heart this show . thank u
I was reminded of this series on one of those top 10 countdowns on here...I loved it though.
Music is the best
This is my very favorite -- hysterical
Ben Katz finally moved out of his dad’s house, changed his name to Bob, got married and has three kids and runs a burger restaurant.
And he’s the world’s greatest spy
Changed his name to McGuirk first, though.
Don't disrespect big Bob like that. His burgers are better than little Bob's 😂
Oh my God!! Yes!!!🤣🤣
He also is a secret agent on the side aka Archer!!
I remember watching this as a kid, it was often introduced by Penn Jillette in the Comedy Central bump between shows.
I can hear his slightly gravely voice now.
slightly?
So awesome to hear how young Jon H. Benjamin sounds here!
I used to watch this show high as a fucking kite. Now that I don't smoke any more, it's nice to see that it's still pretty good.
Thanks for the upload. Loved this show
you're welcome!! this one is one of my favorite shows about comedians.
Excellent. Thanks for posting this.
Hi, Fish. Hi, Aquaman. lol
This was the show
Oh you got promoted?
This is what I needed today
Thats Ray n Dave for you.
That Hulk bit is brilliant
this was a great show
I miss 90s Comedy Central.
The Aquaman bit was my favorite. That’s what I think when I see trailers for the new Aquaman movie with that Samoan dude.
hahaha i saw 2 irish dudes beating up an italian guy. i mean these guys are specific lol
Yeah that was great!
I think this episode for Romano and Dave to use jokes that didn't make it in their stand up routine, and I like it!
Chapelle did a lot of that material on the Just For Laughs tv show.
This show helps me remember.
Awesome stuff.
This is fucking amazing
I love how the objects in the cartoon like the phone change size though out the show.
