D. G. Thanks for coming across another outstanding piece of American pride and to the owner as well for his barn find and bringing it back. If he only had he had it painted it’s original color that really would’ve stood out even more, but excellent restoration job very, very, very well done. Sincerely Yours Truly Ivan I J
The late 50s early 60s Mopars were so quirky and futuristic, to the point there was nothing like em on the road. I so loved those days, and these designs!
I appreciate that but we never really stopped, and now we’re also mining our vast video archive for gems that never made it onto TV. This could go on forever! 🙂
@@MyClassicCarTV - Dennis, what year did you record this episode? Greetings from Canada! Long time viewer, used to watch you on Speed channel I think. Did you ever hear of British Car Day in southern Ontario every September? Usually more than 900 cars.
One of the things I loved about the ol' '63 Le Baron I used to have was the rectangular steering wheel. It was better that the round ones. I miss that car.
Your mustache is a true inspiration. I stopped trimming my handlebar several months ago, the longer it gets the better it's looking. Aiming for your stache style. 👍
My sixth grade teacher had a car very similar. I remember 4 individual headlight buckets. One day she was very upset. She explained that she lost the diamond from her wedding ring. A few days later she was very happy. The diamond was found in the floor mat in the car.
When I was a kid I pulled one of the shift knobs out and my dad had to have it towed to the garage to fix it, you can't put the knob back in a lesson my rear end found out painfully
Mopars have bodycolor under the hood, if it were a Ford or GM it would be fine to flat black the engine bay but on a Chrysler product you really do have to paint the bay...Also I'm pretty sure thats GM synergy green metallic...
Nice 61 Plymouth. I'd fix the suspension on it so it wasn't sitting in the dirt and I could drive it. It must have broken springs & shocks. Leave it like that and soon the floors, tank & frame'll rust.
It's funny how back in the day what was considered an ugly car is so cool now. Compare a '61 Plymouth to a crappy Tesla. That Plymouth is sweet! The rat rod however is just plain stupid. I wish this flattened look would just end already. It's just dumb. And also cars that are literally rockers on the ground when parked is also stupid.
This was a trend that peaked some time ago and has been declining in popularity for a while. This was shot in 2010. Rat rods are sort of the in-your-face counters to the shiny conventional car culture. Still, even tho most of them are death traps, they represent interesting studies in anti-establishment gonzo engineering. There's a lot of creativity in some of these cars. It's just kind of weird creativity.
Probably the ‘62 Dart, but even that was so weird that it’s actually kind of cool now in its own twisted way. There will certainly never be another car like it. Besides, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
that Plymouth is one sleek looking machine, love it

0:04 - Brilliant invention!
See how the header pipes are just above the operators heads, they can hear the beautiful music and breathe fresh air!
Love this 61 Fury 💚

Elated to see you filming more shows Dennis. Definitely missed your style for a time there

Dennis finds the gems in these car shows, especially the Plymouth and the Buick. Hope he got a ride in the rat rod.👍
This was shot in 2010. The Brit show in SoCan sounds pretty cool! Say hi to everybody up there for me, eh?
@@MyClassicCarTV - Will do!
British Car Day happens every September less than an hour and a half from Buffalo, you should check it out - √
Those were some Great looking rides.TY again Dennis and crew.
How could you NOT love that 54 Buick?
Holy Crap, Doc!
I thought your get up, and go,

Oh Boy. Thanks Mr. Dennis.
Car 54, Where Are You? Toody and Muldoon drove a '61 squad Savoy! 👀
Very cool car ....seen it at car shows in Greenville South Carolina
Dude, i totally love it..
You picked some pretty exciting Cars👍
Oh wow, that Topolino! Not sure whether i prefer it as street or strip, but it looks good either way.
62 Plymouth was my first car!

Incredible!

Enjoyed!!!! 👍👍
While I like the look of the rat rod, my god I can't believe that thing is street legal. You can't see around that engine setup at all!
4:12 good thing he got a parachute on that thing need that to go 18 second in the quarter mile
The Long Drive.
I am convinced that Skylark was designed and built by a commitee.

Unless of course you’re customizing it and then you can do anything you want. You know, because it’s your car.
Wish a Hot Wheels car was available. Put car in next Legend your 🎉
That Skylark is worth like 150 grand

😂
You actually believe that a car that beautiful has broken springs and shocks? That's pretty stupid. I'm sure it's on bags. Get with the times.
Beautiful car...but STOCK only please.
Hey, everybody gets to play! 🙂
That Plymouth is so ugly it looks good .
Exactly!
You have found a classic ugly car. Wow really exceptionally bizarre. The 69 Buick has a similiar design.
The ugliest Plymouth ever built. '62 was also ugly.

One of the two cars that were so ugly they should have been driven from the showroom to the crusher the other was the Dodge.
What Dodge

Hideous cars 😢
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I'm sure your 97 civic with the battle wing looks better.
