Hi of course. I'm currently in Goldney Hall. It's very close to the Triangle and Clifton village which is great in terms of getting to class on time and to the clubs and pubs in that area, if you're interested. It's also very close to a few other accommodations like Clifton Hill House and Manor Hall. The best feature about Goldney is the gardens which are great as we go into the summer months. I was really lucky and got a top floor .8 room which gives me really tall ceilings unlike the other rooms, however all the rooms are a fairly decent size. It is a wee bit run down as to be expected with all university halls, but overall I'm really happy with it. If you have any other questions feel free to ask! I hope this helped x
My friend who was at hiatt had a shared bathroom and was self catered and she had a great time. She met so many friends and despite the having 23 flatmates she got along with the majority of them. Honestly give it a go. Just be friendly, respectful and say yes to anything like going out or having a flat party, but that's just standard advice for anywhere. You'll probably get sick of the bus in and out but so is everyone, you'll just get used to it. And self-catered is great, its really beneficial to learn how to cook. Worst comes to worse you can transfer to a different accom later on, one of my flatmates moved into my flat in November and she's one of my best friends now. I hope this helps x
I was really lucky with the room I had as it had a high ceiling and good layout, similarly my flatmates had fairly spacious rooms as well. Thats Goldney accommodation. On the other hand I have a few friends in Hiatt and Print Hall where the rooms were much smaller than my own. Honestly it seems to just be random as to wether you get a spacious room or not. I hope this helps xx
Awww missing you hunny i hope you’re having a good time ❤
If you don't mind sharing, which hall are you in? I'm currently applying for accom at Bristol and It's so hard to find current photos of the halls

do you know anyone who was in hiatt (specifically en suite self catered) and how they found it ? Idk if I regret choosing that over Durham :/
