    Armoured Spearhead seems fun to just spam like 5 Land Raiders to be tough and annoying :p

    Death guard don't get to shoot heavy weapons post disembarking without penalty, unfortunately. Disembarking counts as "special movement" per the LA rule for DG. Still, the vehicle bonuses are worth considering!

    Definitely going to use Underworld Assault, Mantic have some great Veer man drills and Ramshackle Games have Boring machines for way cheaper options.

    Great video - thanks! Just building a new 1500 heresy list for an introductory event and I like the idea of being able to run my HQ as a Sicaran so the armoured spearhead is looking interesting!

    Start of the players first turn.
    So if opponant blows up a rhino and doesnt kill all your dudes inside, on the start of your turn as there's no transport for them they'll die.

    I will build a armored Claw of the Night Lords with the Armored Spearhead RoW. A Sicaran as a Warlord, a Tartaros Librarian with five Contekar in a Spartan, two Despoiler Squads in Land Raiders, two Tactical Squads in Rhinos, two Predators fully equiped with Lascanons and two Predators with all of the Volkite. Then two Apothecaries for the Despoilers and two Tech Marines with the Tacticals. Sounds very cool to me, the lore of the Carandara armored claw was very inspirational :D

    I am kicking off with Iron Warriors and wanted to go in with Brethren of Iron to maximise the robots - Iron Circle Domitar alongside Vorax and Castellax....... Plus my Praetor will upgrade to a Warsmith to keep it all in theme too.

    im currently make a load of allied detachments of different legions (as i cant commit to one) the sub terrian assault sounds interesting, as well as the armoured spear head.
    currently have EC (loyalist) angels wrath rite, White scars Recon Legion company rite, Salamanders covernat of fire rite.
    so thinking of a dark angel or iron hands detachment next any suggestions ?
    (must be Loyalist aligned but love the idea of loyalist remnants of traitor legions )

    When it comes to Underworld Assault, it's entirely possible you might not be able to get much use out of the Melta Cutters on the Termites. As a 6" Heavy 3 Melta weapon, it takes being practically at point blank range to gain the benefits of Armourbane against a vehicle, and within the average charge distance of any nearby infantry, cavalry, or dreadnought unit to use it otherwise. Whilst it can technically support flamer support squads of both tactical and heavy varieties at that range, the Melta Cutter isn't really the Termite's selling feature at 80pts before upgrades, and one that is easily outshone by a 65pt Rhino with a pintle-mounted Multi-Melta.

    • @blackbriargaming5483
      @blackbriargaming5483  2 роки тому

      Good point on the pintle mount, and yeah I agree. That's why the Death Guard really shine here. Being able to still fire it at full BS after that 8" move.

      Really depends how you want to build the army. Underworld Assault is better for close range firepower. If you're planning on going all in on assault based World Eaters, their own Rites of War are both really good!

    While all of these looks interesting, I am gonna stick to my White Scars in Pride of the Legion. 2 max size Veteran blobs with line, chainswords, couple of Power Axes and a Power Fist supported by an Apothecary for the bulk of my line units. All of this backed up by Golden Keshig, Destroyers, tactical support squads and a Sicaran Arcus.

    Funnily enough the legions which would seem to be the most flavorful for brethren of iron are kind of the worst ones to take it. Iron Hands, Iron Warriors, Salamanders, and Raven Guard all have close ties to either the mechanicum, specific forge worlds, or a tech-y culture. But all of them, plus the sons of horus are sworn brothers with mechanicum, so I just don't get why you would take brethren of iron when you can just take a mechanicum allied detachment instead and get the benefits that the different magos HQs can give you

      Iron warriors are not worse to take it they didnt use the mechanicum for automata they competed with them the apolakron aka bretheren of iron were disliked by the mechanicum because somehow they learned how to build automata and suplies some batalions of the irion warriors with them
      Iron warriors warsmiths also have cortex controlers and master of automata

    The biggest challenge imo of subterranean assault is that your units do not arrive turn 1 but rather through regular reserves. Which means you cannot do a pure termite list as you mentioned as you must have units on the board by the end of turn 1. The way it works out, it kind of discourages you from taking too much of your force in termites because you could be waiting until turn 4 to be deploying a sizable chunk of your force.

    The Brethren of iron rite of war seems like a weird copy/paste from HH 1.0...
    Previously you had to take a Forge Lord & a Praevian as which explains the sentence about the Praetor (or Delegatus - which didn't exist when the rite was written).
    That the rules for this rite are unplayable until the purchase of the Liber Mechanicum is available is...
    Also, with the change to the cortex controller (one per three models) questions arise, like why the multiple tech marine tax on units larger than minimum size; 1x3, 2x4-6, 3x7-9; when they slow the movement of the unit? The techmarine have to join the unit, but are prevented from using bikes/jetbikes/jump pack if their unit doesn't have the same equipment... Those issues appear to be from copy/paste (the incomplete text from the previous edition) and an utter lack of playtesting by the writers...
    I always thought it was a uniquely thematic rite of war, but it is a lot harder to put on the table or utilize as it is written at the moment.

    • @pitbuell7959
      @pitbuell7959 2 роки тому

      I guess the quick work around would be core line units with the tax (tech marines) attached and near the automata (bikers?, Rhinos?) - but wth...
