I've been waiting FOREVER for Marvel to print Supreme Power/Squadron Supreme. Instead they waste resources on boring stuff and reprinting overrated trash stories. Just my personal opinion.
As a semi-manga reader, I’ve always wanted to hop into the comic book world. I’m thinking this will be my first comic book series. I’m excited to order my copy!
Hey Omar, They look great but I'm content with my 6 volumes of Paperback Omnibuses. I need to start reading this. I can see the difference between the comic & the show. Yes it's gratuitous, maybe for the sake of it but that's part of the humour. I need to get cracking on it. Cheers mate.
Yeah, I kept the 6 tpbs as well. I might have bought these HC Omnis maybe a few years down the line, but they came out too soon after the 6 tpbs, as far as I’m concerned. I think they should have waited a bit longer, but they probably wanted to capitalize on the show. Personally, I always liked those Definitive Editions, but they were way expensive even back 10+ years ago. I don’t think they had a large print run.
With the exception of Wee Hughie, the TV version of The Boys team resembles the comic, as do the show's Homelander and Starlight for the Supes. But the show goes in its own direction with the story and characters. The premise is similar but the show diverges from the comic almost immediately.
Kudos for pointing out the wavy paper. The thinner the paper stock the more susceptible to heat, humidity and cold it is. I would recommend stacking the book under heavy weight at room temperature for a month to flatten out those pages. Dark Horse are the only publisher I find that consistently uses thicker paper which entirely eliminates this problem with their books which are also the lowest priced omnis/library editions too. If they can do it, why can't you Marvel and DC?
DC does use thick paper. Please show me a DC omni with crappy paper. They get flack for the heavy use of glue in their omnis, but their paper quality is never the issue
@@rickgear2579 I was talking more about the price comparison. But on the subject of wavy DC pages I had to flatten out my Beyond Watchmen, Ex Machina and Aquaman omnis for just that reason. As I say - Never have this problem with Dark Horse.
Just got my volume one today & I can’t put it down. I saw a video on UA-cam from Dynamite & they said all volumes come unwrapped, no plastic covering. Also, got my Catwoman of East End omnibus today so it’s looking like a long night for me.
Dynamite isn’t exactly Marvel or DC so they don’t have the resources to make them like they do. This seems serviceable for a company the size of Dynamite that doesn’t do very many OHC and they seem pretty affordable so that helps.
I wonder, if they get more and more success if they will reprint other popular titles like Red Sonja Or Vampirella. Especially the fact Harris Era never been reprinted full
Happy to see the paper isn't super see thru. Wish they spaced the release of these better. One every week? Should have been one a month at the very least. We're in a downturn, and these folks are releasing Omnis like we're in a booming economy.
Hey omar, just out of curiosity, do these omnis come plastic sealed? Or are they not dealed at all? Love ur videos my friend, thank u for introducing me to the comic book world
I've got all 3 of these on order, from A.N.Other supplier as we get no love from your sponsors in Jolly Old England I had the floppys back in the day, and I did start collecting the softcover omni's, but stopped after I found out these are coming out. Love this series and if it's too gratuitous for you, don't worry I hear that there are lots of other books out there
So this is actually not sewn binding. In fact, the shot you see of the binding actually shows you that it’s glued binding. Yes, it does have an eye, which is good… but it’s not sewn. You can see the “folds” of the signatures on the top of the book that is consistent with sewn binding, but if you look at the bottom as seen in this video, it looks like jagged triangles and not folds. Basically the gluing process still has folded signatures but they get scored (cut up a bunch) at the fold so that glue can bind it all together. Hope that helps!
@@NearMintCondition that’s interesting. I was surprised at the eye on your volume one because my spine doesn’t have nearly that much flex even after relaxing it
Will wait for all 3 to be released before buying (is going to be an expensive July considering these 3 and the JL New 52 Omni vol 2). Only thing I dont like are the covers for volumes 2 and 3
My copy also had the wavy paper at the beginning but when I get into the issues the waviness is gone. I couldn't figure out the binding type. The top looks sewn but the bottom looked glued. Looked weird to me.
@@xanarxanar5681 the top of book looks sewn. The bottom looks glued. I tried to the the threads in the book but couldn’t find them so I think it’s glued but better than normal glued binding. It’s weird. The tmnt ronin hc has the same binding. Look for the video for that book. It shows it.
@@nelsoncarvalho6338 Not wired, it is cheap, pass for me. I saw TMNT on Comic Bound channel and also saw it is same binding but that book I preordered.
Thanks for showing off Omar! Hope everyone who checks out these books digs them!
i really hope for more omnibus treatment for other titles
Seeing the Boy's Omnis make me really want an omni of J. Michael Straczynski's Supreme Power.
Or a Rising Stars reprint

That would be so good!
I put an order in for volume 1; I’m not familiar with it but Garth Ennis is pretty much always worth reading.
Yesssss I ordered all three!! Can't wait :) I thought we were getting the Catwoman of East End review this week, hopefully it's still comiiiiing
Been waiting since I started following your channel 3 years ago. Ordered, en route and can't wait to read it!!

It is a pretty nasty and grotesque comic just letting u know
No bro. This series sucks! The show is better. Use your money for better things man. I suggest seeing mint condition's videos on beginner stuff
Damnn
I hope you bought these and ignored all these other people. It was a fun read, and I enjoyed it
Don’t listen to the haters lmao the series is a lot of fun
the boys comic in my opinion is freaking insane and crazy. :)
Can't wait for my copies to arrive !
It’s crazy that they pump them all out the same month but I’m at least getting the first volume hopefully it’s still in stock in the fallowing months
Love the show, and hardcovers, had to get these.
Flexing with that Question omni! Imma need that thang

Looking forward to these… are you gonna review the Razorblades horror omnibus
Now just gonna have to print Dear Becky in oversized format and custom bind it in with these. Leaving it out is a headscratcher
What’s the difference between these and definitive editions? Content wise
Awesome video 😊😊
"My Question is, is..." ;-)
How closely does the TV series follow the storylines in these three omnis?
they're two different things only sharing the name of characters, so your typical live action remake
With the exception of Wee Hughie, the TV version of The Boys team resembles the comic, as do the show's Homelander and Starlight for the Supes. But the show goes in its own direction with the story and characters. The premise is similar but the show diverges from the comic almost immediately.
Thanks. That helps because I have been considering purchasing, but I was less likely to do so if the show was identical to the comics.
hey omar, is the vol 1 out of stock at the moment? can't seem to find anyplace to order it outside of the US
Finally
But the binding is not sewn! 11:33
If you see my other overviews of the two other books I explain it further.
Is There Dear Becky too?
No but it does have a Hardcover but it's not a oversized like these
Ngl, thought they was gonna be bigger

And wasn't that 100 Bullets vol. 2 ?
Can't get to have all of them in my filthy hands and put them in a box set...still hoping that the Dear Becky HC will be an OHC.
I hope Dear Becky is an OHC as well but from the dimensions I’ve seen it looks like a standard hardcover.
Do you design the box set case yourself and construct it?
Thanks for this! Looking forward to getting them all!
Nice! I have all three on order, with the first one being a signed edition. Hopefully, it's signed...

Absolutely getting these!
Glad they've done these omnis as it's such a massive series, but these seem cheaply done. Not very exciting covers, and the paper quality is whack!?
The quality of the books don't look too bad but I do wish they would of done some new covers for them.

not my kinda book but looking forward to the Army of Darkness HC omnis
Wait what?! When do those come out lol
Thanks for the heads up. Love me some Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, and Ash vs Evil Dead
I don’t see any info on this. Can you share source?
During the Dynamite Auction something was mentioned about a HC Omni release for the anniversary

These came sealed. Thank you for the kind words.
Maybe I did not listen carefully but do the 3 omnis cover the entire run?
yes
They cover the original run. They don't cover the 6 issue Dear Becky series that was released in 2020.
