This thing is VERY VERY NOISY even at 1/100 power level. It is well built, premium finish and feel. The fan is powerful. Just TOO NOISY and I mean it. You definitely cannot use it indoor without pissing anyone off. Outdoor would be fine. It just sounds like a plane is about to take off. It also lack an angled stand so it can direct wind into the right direction.
I love to cook, so it can get really hot in my kitchen during that time, so I remove a cup from my cupboard, sit the fan in its place and put it on 75 and direct it toward me, it keeps me nice and cool, I do this rather than crank up the central air, better to save on that central air bill and put up with a bit of noise for an hour than pay that wopper believe me!!

No. Its just very thin lines. Unoticeable even in dark areas
