My Z Flip5 broke. Will Samsung fix it?

As much as I love this phone, it wasnt surprising that it broke within a short period of time.
I'm a tech enthusiast so I don't mind trying out tech that's still new. But I would recommend getting a different phone if you want a long-term, reliable phone.
That being said, not everyone's Flip/Fold will have issues. I just got unlucky.
Take lots of pictures and make videos if your phone breaks. Also take pictures/videos of the the packing process when you send it in for repair, just so you have proof.

Watching on my z flip 5 .. may all our foldable phone last forever. Hidup samsung flip!! 😂😅
I'm watching this on a galaxy flip5 too! What are the odds...
watching this on z fold 3, I also own a z fold 3 that in not that bad condition but both screens work. May all of our folds last atleast next 15 years ❤️
Watching this on my 6 years old Galaxy S9 while my Z fold 5 (With 4 years of extended warranty covering the screen and hinges) is being charged.
Untung guna latest flip😂 kita je masih stuck dngn flip 3😂
@@KKenth61 alhamdulillah takpe, boleh trade in 🙃
That is my biggest fear that pushes me aside before thinking to buy a foldable phone
1 have flip 4 for one year now, nothing happened
@@Chichi-dc9rd One year doesn't prove anything.
The reason I stay away from these foldable phones. I have a fold 2 still going strong since release but that will be my last foldable phone. I'm going back to regular again. If Samsung was a bit nicer on warranty then yeah I would consider a foldable again.
My biggest fear from buying really expensive phone, it breaks or gets stolen from me.
Well, I’ve had 2 pre owned iPhones since 2013
iPhone 4 2013-2020
iPhone 7 2020 till now
I finally caved in and bought my first brand new iPhone 14 plus and was so excited.
I partly did it because my iPhone 7 is almost dead and I had store credit on Amazon.
Well my phone has been sitting in Milton Keynes since 27th feb due for prime delivery on 28th July.
It’s now August, I waited home a week , Amazon all sold out and looks like I miss out.
Check the funny part. I think my new phone has been stolen and I’m December 2020 the 12th on a Sunday morning, I found a bad in a park and it had a brand new iPhone 12 max pro in blue worth £1200.
I took it straight home, looked for a phone in use, to contact owner of bag so I could give it back to them and there was no phone in use, no letter, no credit card.
I simply called police, explained I found bag with iPhone and other stuff, can they collect from me and if it’s lost or stolen, hopefully the owner will get it back.
I felt so good about myself for doing the right thing. At this time I was still using my iPhone 4 that hardly worked.
Thankfully my dad then gave me his old iPhone 7 for Christmas, that I’m still using right now but battery last less then 40 mins.
So yeh, it’s funny that I hand found iPhone 12 to police to get back to owner when my phone was fucked and now 3 and half years later, I finally order my first new phone and it looks like someone stole it 😢
Well that's a good thing, I've the flip 2. The screen protector just came off after 3 months@@bassyey
I've heard that if you join in the Samsung Care program you will get unlimited screen replacement for Fold or Flip. Worry free now.
I think it's just the screen protector but for the screen itself you'll get a discount
Been using Fold 5 for 11+ months now...still holding very well. The inner screen protector is still in great condition
That's great. I was an advocate for Fold phones until my Fold 4 inner screen failed 1 year and 1 month after purchase, a day before I was flying out to go on holiday. Put me off them completely. Samsung did fix under warranty but when the S24 Ultra came out, I immediately traded mine in for it.
Best of luck!
My girls flip 5 had screen/hinge failure in 2 months lol I'm going on 6 on my flip
@@IshmaelSimpson thanks man! But it's just difficult to going back to regular slab phone after experiencing folding phones
@@rlay286 It is, but not impossible. Still using the S24 Ultra. Samsung here, in the UK, is bundling the Samsung Freestyle (+£200 off) for the Fold 6, which is tempting, but I'm just still majorly put off with what happened with my Fold 4.
It only took about a week to readjust going back to a slab.
My Z fold 3 is 3.5 years now,Still a beast
that's why don't force the technology when it's not ready yet
...
True, foldable phones like Z Flip are good for a secondary phone or for people who don't have a problem buying a new one anytime, it still needs a lot of improvements
@@biggieones yep, that's how I'll be using it now
May i know in what situations would you need 2 phones? Maybe one for work but it should be provided by the company not yourself. So i dont see a situation in which you yourself would buy a secondary phone
Maybe, but who buys a secondary phone for over $1000 / 1000€?
@noveliayuki I would because of the fragility of the Flip phones or because I just love tech lol. But I also have a work phone (provided by my company)
@@gloomysoomi so you really dont need one, you just get it to try it yourself
Z Flip for life dawg i agree I'm worried about what u said but I really love the phone
I had to send my flip 4 in twice. Second time out of warranty. Cost me $550. But then I traded it in for the flip6 and they gave me $800 for the trade. Love the 6 ❤
I want tech like this to succeed because it just makes tech fun and exciting. But until Samsung or another company can make foldables last 2-3 years without breaking (I upgrade my phone every 3 years so this is an important factor for me), I’m sticking with the ol’ reliable iPhone
My Android phones have often lasted me years, it's the foldables that still need a lot of work.
@@gloomysoomi yup, I also had an android at one point alongside my iPhone and it lasted a long time. So I’m definitely willing to get another one, and I want it to be a foldable, but yeah these types of devices still need work
@@gloomysoomiI am happy with my S 24 ultra and about folding phone I am just feared because they can broke easily.
This is the main reason why I am not a fan of foldable phones. I use S-series from begining, before Note series.
Daing talk about bad luck, had my flip 5 for a year and never had any problems thank God, traded in for a flip 6 and it's magnificent
@@kevinfightsbears I will still trade it in😂
2 months in my girls flip had screen/hinge failure and she BABIED it. Was just a lemon. I'm 6 months in on my flip 5 and so far it's been good.
@MoneyM12 yeah man when I got the zfold4 it was a lemon. It would freak out when I'd open it in tablet mode. To make things worse, Bell wouldn't take it back cuz I was over 30 days buyers remorse. Samsung fixed it, but to this day it's a glorified offline paperweight 😂
When i broke my flip 4 i went to samsung store and they replaced it for free. I didnt evej have insurance! So thankful i bought it used on ebay. Was able to do a trade in for the flip 5 for only $100. Phone has been great since i got it last year. Wish they had better trade in deals for the flip 6 this time but its too pricey.
Man those wallpapers are 🔥🔥🔥
good for you!
it's a really good looking phone ngl
Molto bene la garanzia, peccato tanti riscontro questi difetti! 🙁
ive been using the flip 5 for 7 months and i love it, but if someone came to me and ask whether they should go for it or not, i will definitely gonna stop them at all cost lol
What about the 6?
Why though? If the screen protector pops out randomly like my 3 months flip 2 back in the day. I would say yes 🤣
Oh God, I've been using Flip 4 more than 4 months..and I'm scared after that(
I've had mine (also a Flip 4) for a year without any issues whatsoever, not even hints of anything breaking. It got stolen sadly (IDK what the person is doing with it, but whatevs). So don't worry, it'll be fine, probably a result of a unfortunate drop or something. I just replaced the original protective glass after it started tearing by an hydrofoil, which is better IMO. Other than that, the phone's been completely trouble free for me, have no worries, just be careful not to drop it too much.
Wow, Samsung has nice live wallpapers
Hey, I've been a loyal Samsung user for a while now, and I've always stuck with the S series instead of the Fold. But guess what? The Fold 6 can't even handle Google Maps without overheating and smoking! Can you believe that?
On top of that, I had to send my S22U in for free repairs because of some green lines. What a bummer!
I've been a Samsung fan for years too now, and this is disappointing. My S series ones usually don't have issues and hope it continues that way.
Do you not have warranty on a flip phone? And you should always get Samsung care+
Samsung is usually great when it comes to warranty.
If it makes you feel better. I had 3 Samsung S22 Ultra's. All of them had signal/ battery issues. Good thing I had insurance, lol
What app are you using for the backgrounds for the front 🙂🙂🙂
@@LolPeel The coverscreen? Mostly just gifs from Pinterest 😊
1000% durability is of gr8 issue in foldables.....been using foldable since FOLD 3 inspite of taking baby care of them ......fingers crossed my FLIP 5 still in gr8 condition after 1 Yr
My flip 5 also broke THE SAME WAY, my flip 3 lasted longer
It wasn't broken, it was the super laser mode.
I am using N2 Flip since launch and I have no problem so far. (More than a year of heavy usage and many dents and scratch on yhe body) While i keep seeing Samsung QC worst than a brand like Oppo
Samsung's service wifh their flip and fold devices is usually very good
you got pretty lucky samsung also fixed my s22 for free when i water damaged it
How can a water resistant ip68 device get water damage? Stop lying.
@@phucanh0374chống nước chỉ là chuẩn thôi, dùng 1 thời gian vẫn sẽ mất chống nước và bay như thường thôi đúng cái loại kid :))
@@phucanh0374 its water resistant not waterproof idiot
@@phucanh0374It's not waterproof
@phucanh0374 probably for clout
Still using my Z Flip 3 as a backup phone, bought it new at end of 2021. My daily driver is the S23 Ultra. My Z flip's screen is still perfect and intact. I guess it's luck.
I was using it as my main phone but yep, it's working fine for some people.
My flip 4 had similar issues but on mine the screen protection layer started to bubble up in the middle after the warranty has expired. That’s a 2 generation younger phone and still has the same issue. That’s super annoying specially that we pay flagship money for them. Personally i wouldn’t let them sell such devices until they haven’t solved these problems. Thanks to this i switched back to apple
Right?? Dude I had my flip4 break 2x that way. Second time out of warranty cost me 550!! They'd better fix it. Either way I'll keep trading it in now to avoid the headache.
Is it true Samsung offers 2 year warranty on their screens for the flip and fold series?
In Taiwan, Taiwan Samsung after-sales customer service classifies all cases as artificial damage😅😅They want you to buy their Samsung insurance
Its a nightmare if it broken just right after the warranty period ends
Still would not buy a mechanical moving gadget. Pop up camera, flip, fold, etc, they have more risk for having short usage.
Why need foldables just try to get used to bar phone
Why you have that, i having z flip 5 too and worry now
It might not happen to you, don't worry
Tengo un Galaxy Z Flip 5 y en la bisagra del medio tengo píxeles atascados, los píxeles atascados a menudo se pueden arreglar porque la energía sigue llegando al píxel. Lo voy a llevar a garantía para que lo arreglen. 😓
Hi!! Can you tall me the name of the astronaut theme? Is it from the galaxy store?
@@glo11 It's in Settings -> Themes. It's called "Astronaut's Balloons" 😊
@@gloomysoomi thank you!!
That is not badly packed! It has enough bubble wrap!
What is that photo frame thing under your screen?
The pixel display? I have a video on that :)
Mine hasn't broken, yet, but the charging cable port has stopped working properly. And I got mine almost a year ago.
I tried using other charging cables and chargers and there's one from Xiaomi which is type B to type C, depending on the position of the phone, it charges or not.
😂 I also tried a wireless charger (not the official samsung's one) but it overheated the phone to a point I got afraid it could burn the phone's battery at any time, so I returned the wireless charger.
😂
Similar thing happened with my fold 5. Samsung repaired it under warranty but its made me afraid of using flips and foldables
This is why you shouldn't own a screen foldable devices....
Did you had to empty your phone storage before sending it to samsung?
@oneplus113T you can just put it in repair mode and send it but I personally wouldn't trust that
This is why I switch back to iphone 😢
My flip 4 broke 2 days ago, it shut down everytime I folded it, amazon should refund me since it’s been less then 30 days
My flip 5 is still perfect for me😌
They can fix it
Why ever get the flip when you can have the fold? So much better. Mini tablet on you at all times. I love it. I just got the z6.
@emdeejay7432 I'm personally not a fan of the form factor but I saw the Fold 6 and think it looks way better than the last one
@gloomysoomi yeah I just got it and it's great. I absolutely love it. Love the big fold out screen
I don't samsung buy flip phone because of this
Do you think because it's a foldable phone that it's not meant for long-term usage?
Yes 100% sure. It's not meant to last. The screen will have a defect after months of use (dead pixels) and they will only replace the screen is you don't have any physical damage on your phone
@sherazade5127 makes sense. I get the craze and the intrigue of a flip phone and the newer technology. But I still have three older LG phones, plus a Samsung I am using now. And, those older LG phones still are in great working condition.
That will happen if the phone is heating up because of usage and dropped while folded.
If its repaired would people just pay money to buy a new phone? Probably not.
Thats why i don't want to buy flip screen phone cause the technology are not ready yet.
This is the reason why I still avoid foldables - They’re not built to last long term.
2 years after galaxy flip has a green line on my screen. lol iPhone is waving
Samjunk wouldn't fix my s 24U after 3 exchanges due to bad software updates and camera issues and grainy screens and unresponsive and batteries that heat up??? This is samsung??? I've had samsung for years and 2024 samsung failed the S24U and 14 ui 6.1 was a rushed out mess ... looks like I'm going to iPhone 16 pro max in September and atleast apple has stores everywhere and help samsung says mail it in?? And get stolen in the mail system?? Screw samsung for ever
They always comes with issues whenever updates came rolling. My s22u had screen issues too when i updated to their latest version last year. I got myself a white bar light bleed running across the front camera. Got it fix tho at 3rd party repair shop coz my warranty expired. My friend had issues too and i went to read feedback that its common in their ultra line
@eyhtwozed2606 Android 14 ui 6.1 is obviously to blame it wasn't tested enough I hope 15 ui 7.0 isn't the same otherwise goodbye samsung and Google
@@eyhtwozed2606 almost like apple does screws devices up to make you buy something new... I'm not falling into that trap
from my experience Samsung is untrustworthy brand. they are not a good brand like 20 year ago.
Red wallpaper link
They’re just clowns even their engineers have an iphone
Nah !!! I don't get the attraction !!
They just gave you new one
They replaced the screen I guess
I hope the S25U and zoom 6 series have massive issues to show them they suck
My flip4 still in good condition
Of course not. They are anti-repair.
Do you use it without a case?
Nope, and I also haven't dropped it much. Only a few times just on carpet or from low/waist height.
Please, just get the standers one, if your looking for a smartphone that is pocket sized, get the iPhone 13 mini
Sorry to ask little confused,, is it '' Welcome or Welkom ''. 🙄🤔
However this is why foldables as best because you have big screen for normal use compare to flip phones. 😊
In that case, I don't think they speak English as their native language
When you set up a new Samsung phone, it welcomes you in several different languages. It said "welkom" not "wekom". It is likely Dutch. 😊
I don't understand what you wrote in the second part.
Flip is a weak phone. Fold is stronger
No they will not
if it still under warranty of course they will cover for screen replacement or repair without need to paying anything
No, they don't always do that. You can find stories of ppl where they refused to repair it.
No, they won't.
They resetted it 😢
They tell you to back up your data before sending it :) So I erased everything myself too.
It's an absolutely rubbish phone at an outrageous price.
like two years ago my sister and mother got themselves a flip 3. Both broke after not even a year. One entire screen isn't working and the other you can't flip anymore. As much as I loove samsung their foldables are a disaster... :(
Of course they'll fix it anybody with the folding phones your priority
Moto is better.
What happened to your data?
I had to back it up and factory reset, unfortunately
Motorolla razr 50 ultra better
