For EVEN MORE easter eggs, and some corrections (yes, ok, I get it, it's Naruto), check out this companion video! ua-cam.com/video/wbmUWLhSA7A/v-deo.html
hey bro I think that's naruto
I hate this travesty. It is horror.
You left out the fact that this version of the song doesn't have "they'll take the clues and find the wheres and whys and whos"
It’s B.O.B.
o the biggest thing you messed up, of a huge list of things, Double-O-Dale is a reference to Double-O-Duck, which was what eventually lead to Darkwing Duck.
The legal team behind this movie deserves a round of applause.
Yeah, they had to get Sega, Hasbro, Dreamworks, Paramount, and a little bit of Nintendo and Warner Brothers. That's an impressive roster!
Imagine if the sequel managed to include Homelander and Trevor Philips (both portrayed by Antony Starr and Steven Ogg) and so, imagine how many people going nuts to see this happening.
Because in my Headcanon, Sweet Pete is a part of Vought.
Everyone else: WHAT????????!!!!!
@@neogold4796 you forgot carton network & Nickelodeon
@@PersiesAnimations what’s the clap for
The one you called "Avatar's Aang" is actually Naruto and the One that you said was "Fred Flintstone crossed with Goofy crossed with pete" is just Fred Flintstone crossed with the Big Foot from a Goofy Movie. Also I'm pretty sure the "Brown Anime Hair" is specifically Sora's to go with the Keyblade. Also I think the Coat and Gun-arm from the Hybrid Peter is from Treasure Planet's John Silver.
Was gonna say some of this but you did already , so cheers.
Also the kaa with human legs is probably a reference to randall's appearance from monster's inc.
Yea You Covered It
Gun Arm is reference to Super Mario Bros.'s Bullet Bill
Pretty sure the cape and gun arm are from emperor Zurg, the Buzz Lightyear villain in Toy Story
"Avatars Aang crossed with a wise old man"
You have no idea the danger you just put yourself in.
This movie has SOOOO many things going on in the entire movie, The film makers and the rest of the team did so great on this movie.
I agree

i can’t believe that in the current age of live-action disney films we’re in, we got something as crazy as this
Wdym this has happened with ready player one, reck it Ralph 2, space jam 2, and that one live action looney tunes movie
@@Cmon_bro12 yeah true but space jam 2 was bad imo & wreck it ralph was animated. this is the first recent live action (& imo good) time this film has been made.
Well it's either this or the awful af live action fairly odd parents tv show
@@Cmon_bro12 looney tunes back in action was severely underrated
@@Cmon_bro12 in regards to cameos yeah but to seamlessly have 2d and 3d along with real life shot scenes is insane
disney just shifted ugly sonic, a horrendous character that got bashed before to being a hilarious character that most people wanna see more of him on his tv series now
He'll probably end up President of the US in 2024.
The zoom in on his teeth should be the poster 😂
They should have cameoed Uganda Knuckles too for good measure. That would have been hilarious. 🤣
That's because he is terrible as a main character in a theatrical sonic movie, but at the same time perfect as a side character in streaming movie. Which makes him great as a cameo joke character.
I love how this is a functionally better movie than Space Jam 2 ever was in terms of working as a film.
Yes. I also like that it goes all Roger Rabbit rather than it all being one company's IP's.
They even had the willingness to spit on Space Jam 2 right in the eye: "There is nothing more pathetic than an old cartoon character trying to seem cool again by RAPPING!" Possibly one of the sickest burns in a Disney movie ever.
As soon as I found out what this movie was actually about, I went and watched it immediately. I was not disappointed. This was a fantastic movie! I loved it. And I can't believe all the cameos, Easter eggs, and references that they were able to slam into this movie
You forgot to mention that Alan Oppenheimer, the original voice actor of Skeletor reprises his role as Skeletor for the first time in over 40 years.
I didn’t “forget” to mention it. I just didn’t pick up on it - I did mention quite a few times I had obviously missed LOTS of stuff.
What a cool thing to happen ...that makes no sense to be happening in a Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers movie.
@@DaveLeeDownUnder you seem like a douche bag so i will not be subscribing
@@DaveLeeDownUnder nah you forgot
@@DaveLeeDownUnder nah bros mad Lmaoo
15:58 The "brown piece of anime hair" is actually from Disney's Kingdom Hearts video game's main character Sora
In the scene where Peter gets zapped by the lasers, turning into multiple different hybrids over several seconds, I think they missed a huge opportunity to briefly turn him into a horse with Will Arnette’s voice. Would have been epic .
i was honestly surprised to see doc mcstuffins have a mini cameo in this movie. it’s a very small scene she appeared in, but she’s one of my favorite childhood show characters, and I couldn’t help myself but smile when i saw her on screen.
I believe the high pitched laugh by deformed Peter Pan is actually a reference to Yzma in cat form, especially since they’re both evil purple cats.
That's what I had thought too
fun fact I learned recently : the line "Is that my voice ? Is that MY voice ?" wasn't in the script. It was Ertha Kitt responding to how she sounded through the filter. And they kept it in :)
Actually is Cruella De Vil's laugh.
Lumiere being in his classic 2D form is a neat touch. Can't help but think the team wanted the original voices behind the talent and couldn't get Ewan McGregor.
Which would be an odd thing to do, since the actor who played traditionally animated Lumiere's been dead for years.
@@Guernicaman That would be Jerry Orbach...
@@dgspeirs - RIP ❤
Disney could get Ewan... He was filming obi Wan at the time.
Which makes one wonder: If Baloo is the Talespin one with CGI surgery in here, then does that mean CGI Lumiere is a different character?
And Ugly Sonic being (assumed) different from the Sonic we got, leads to a horrifying implication that "ugly" toons get replaced with "better looking ones."
There are all those horrifyingly bad CGI Disney cartoons, like Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas. Are they wandering somewhere out there, forgotten and rejected? Were they the original Toons going through a CGI facelift like Dale, but it went wrong so they were sacked and replaced with the "prettier" 2D redesigns?
You missed Robert Crumb’s Mr. Natural’s cameo! (He’s the guy Dale sell his hair to)
Also, the bootleg Samurai Jack is mixed with Franco-Belgian comic character Blacksad, and that bootleg Dipper has Smurf eyes
great catch on Blacksad. Also the bootleg Snorks looks like it's mixed with Lucky Luke.
Was it smurf eyes? Looked like a Fraggle Rock character honestly
They really went all in with the fan service
Mantis and B.O.B. showing up was something I was not expecting and it made me laugh SO hard!
What about cursed sonic
@@Mewtwo573 Oh yes, I loved Ugly Sonic too.
My theory is that they had a Seth Rogen panel as well as a Dreamworks panel in Fan Con. For the latter, it was hosted by Shrek and Po, and they also invited the casts of Voltron: Legendary Defender, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, and Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous as well as showing the trailer for The Bad Guys (they also invited Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark, and Ms. Tarantula).
Foghorn can actually also be seen on his own food packet in Chip's fridge
I was just about to mention Chip's freezer which features:
Ice Age branded icecream tubs
A Frozone dinner with the Incredibles star on the box
A Tyson's Looney Tunes dinner (an actual product from the 80s or 90s) with Foghorn Leghorn and Henry Hawk.
Yea I noticed that as well
I noticed quite a few additional references.
The New York Rats disguise is a slight nod to the game Mafia 2, particularly the mission where Vito and Joe infiltrate a hotel and use a similar disguise.
Dale's car is a Mercedes SL class made between 1989 and 2001, which plays into the idea of the show in their universe being more successful, since that was considered a high-end sports car during the original show's run. It also seems that manufacturers by the 2020s were finally able to make "scaled down" versions of their cars, as a modern VW Golf in maniature form can be seen next to Dale's human-sized car that was custom fitted built decades ago.
The bath house in the facility reminds me a bit of the club in John Wick, which has something similar. It's also a reference to crime thrillers, which used them as a setting on occasion.
The cologne is perhaps a nod at the recent use of celebrities to sponsor new fragrances.
The animated police cars are both Crown Vics, one of the most famous cop cars of all time, futhermore, one of them has the California exempt plates, and the red "steady burn" light specific to the state.
Monty's pajamas/robe could be a reference to both The Dude from "The Big Lebowski", and Tony Soprano/James Gandolfini
Middle aged Peter Pan does remind a bit of how Carl from ATHF looks
Chip's normal blue blazer reminds me a bit of Daneil Larusso from Cobra Kai
The donut cops are Wynchell and Ducan from Wreck it Ralph
The polar bear's vest is similar to those worn by the polar bears in Coca Cola ads of the past, maybe it's a slight jab at Coke's rather evil business practices?
And to end, a few more easter eggs I noticed at the Convention: a blumbob from The Sims, a couple of Rebel pilots, a girl wearing the same schoolgirl outfit as an internet famous salaryman, an outfit similar to hats worn by the pop band Devo, a George Lucas doppelganger, and The Stig
all the seth rogen showing up and laughing at the same time was one of my favourite scenes
Have a couple spots to relabel: Random anime hair is Sora's from Kingdom Hearts, the first bootleg to exit the crate is Fred Flintstone crossed with Big Foot from a Goofy Movie, and "Aang" is actually Naruto Uzumaki crossed with Master Roshi from Db.
Only possible ones I got that you didn't name was Jimmy the Polar Bear is the Coca Cola bear, the canonballs from Sweet Pete's arm look like Bullet Bills from Mario, and the toilet sequence could be said to be a Flushed Away reference
That's not a TinTin character, that's R. Crumbs "Mr. Natural" comic character making a cameo
Master Roshi.
@@jonathanroberts4965 Ah okay, wasn't aware of the character and just took it for a stylistic nod
@@pewpew1972 thankyou! was on the tip of my tongue but couldn't get it, he kinda looks like his Jackie Chun alias know that I can see it 😅
The purple looking character I believe is a bootleg gumball from the amazing world of gumball
Another detail on the monstrosity that Peter Pan turns into at the end, on his right shoulder I believe is a piece of armor from Shredder from the 2003-09 TMNT series, and on his right hand, a Banzai Bill launcher from the Mario games series.
He even says Chipmunk Soup like Shredder used to say Turtle Soup
@@Jbit130 I didn’t know that! That’s very cool!
@@Jbit130 I absolutely love details like that.
Woody leg and optimus prime leg
i thought it was a megatron arm
One of the best lines from the movie: “Is he talking to us? I can't tell, He's got those Polar Express eyes. Are we about to get waffle fried? He's been bootlegged.” 😂😂😂
Watching this was crazy and surprising. I loved every detail and I even learned tons of new ones. Such attention to detail, what a godlike production.
At 17:01, that's not Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender crossed with an old man, that's Naruto. Also, there is one more bootleg cartoon that was a real blink-and-you-miss-it moment you forgot. Princess Tiana in frog form from Princess and the Frog with the wings of a fly or a fairy. She's the last of the toons to come out of the crate before Monterey Jack. Kind of random and a bit messed up if you ask me.
It’s Naruto crossed with Master Shifu from kung fu panda
yes! such heartbreak for having starred as the last traditionally animated disney princess (frog or otherwise) then having to be bootlegged
This movie is a gold mine for Easter egg/cameo finding youtubers!!!
This movie is BY FAR the funniest with all the cameos. It's not a great movie, but it was hilarious seeing Ugly Sonic!! How Disney managed to put all these characters in the movie is great!
Huge respect for making this video (we can forget about missing an easter egg or 2), finding & examining those references & putting all the scenes, zoom-ins & pics from the other media... Bravo👏👏👏👏
"Double-O Duck", not "Double-O Dale", was actually going to be an animated series starrring Donald* as a James Bond-style spy. However, the project was cancelled after Disney found out the word "Double-O" was owned by EON Productions, owners of James Bond & the 007 series of films. Because of this, "Double-O Duck" was became Darkwing Duck & an all-new character.
*EDIT: I got confused by a different project (Maui Mallard, Starring Donald Duck). I stand corrected. The duck involved w/the "Double-O Duck" project was in fact Launchpad. Not Donald.
Not Donald Duck. it's was suppose to star LaunchPad McQuack
I personally thought the "Double-O Dale" reference was a nod to Rescue Ranger episode 32 "Double O Chipmunk." That was Dales "super spy" name in that episode.
@@davidfields627 I was thinking at some point in my life I heard the Double O Dale before, but could not remember where.
It was a different duck.
@@duckmurai - My bad. I got confused by a different project (Maui Mallard, Starring Donald Duck). I stand corrected. It was in fact Launchpad.
Another thing about the Alvin and the Chipmunks rap scene, I wonder if Chip’s cringing at the idea of classic cartoons rapping is supposed to be a jab at Space Jam: a New Legacy where there was a scene where Porky raps?
I doubt it. This was probably being made well before that. It's probably a reference to how they made cartoons rap in the 90s
@@joevictor53 Right, I forgot that there were some examples well before of trying to make old cartoon characters rapping. While I personally don’t mind it, I just think the fact that SJ: ANL was released while this movie was in production makes this part of Chip’s character even funnier.
I think it is, and a well-deserved jab at that!
The huge amount of references in this movie is mind blowing. :)
Great video. So many I missed, The one that I didn't hear you reference was my favorite cameo of the entire movie, which was Robert Crumb's character Mr Natural, who was seen in the Main Street scene. I popped so much for that quick appearance.
Everyone is adding more cameos, but can we just appreciate how this guy added (or try to add) every single cameo in this movie? Like, damn. That would take so long!
If they could identify Naruto at least I’d give them credit. I actually have met people far removed from anime who know who Naruto is. I mean, my nana called him Aaron but she’d also not have the confidence to not even double check it before saying it. She’d admit she didn’t know it.
Your not wrong, it would be fine, but maybe he dunno who Naruto is either. But your right too
@@pip_a_roo_ Maybe he didn’t know who Naruto is, but he probably checked on Avatar’s Aang right? And Aang looks nothing like Naruto. That part confused me a little bit 😮💨
Definitely a long long video to make, even getting the screenshots
Ikr
I was right, this movie was really good. It still feels like a fever dream
watching it again i gotta say it was terrifying to recognize all the different parts from my favorite characters in bags in that one scene. This movie was so much darker when you bypass all the cartoony jokes and nostalgic references
This man put in serious work finding all the Easter Eggs
The coat Bootleg Peter Pan is wearing is a deep Disney cut. It came from Long John Silver of Disney's, "Treasure Planet". As it belonged to another "cyborg" character, it really brings the whole design together.
As an Astérix fan, I can't believe I didn't notice the Obelix/Dragon hybrid at the end.
Also, I believe the Anime old man in the ship container has Naruto's clothes and hair color.
I'm guessing that's Naruto hybridized with Makarov from Fairy Tail.
One of my favourite and one of the more obscure cameos was The Little House. Who Chip greets on his walk home and calls “Mrs House”. She is in an Disney animated short called “The Little House”!
(It was one of my favs as a kid, despite how old it was during my childhood)
It looks like Doug and Porkchop actually opened their own law firm. That doesn’t look like a movie poster.
Am I the only one who thinks it’s insane seeing dreamworks characters in a Disney movie?
Along with Nickelodeon characters, like a bootlegged Patrick Star
also WB, Paramount etc...
@@jmtstan how the funk any of this happened and I remember someone that say “I wish all different cartoons companies team up instead of compete each other”
I guess the person’s wish was came true
After all
Well... the thing that surprises me the most is that they somehow got permission to use Ash Ketchum and Detective Pikachu's tail and that even Nintendo gave them permission to have Mario in.
You clearly missed the Little House from Disney animated 50's classic animated short "The Little House" as Chip walks past her on his way home.
Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for
At the ending scene:
- The way the bad guy emerges from the broken crates is a reference to the ending villain scene in "die hard"
- The bullet is a Super Mario Bross cannonball.
- The part when chip saves dale (or vice-versa?) from the shot jumping to cover him is a reference to the 90s movie "the bodyguard"
Great information, great editing, and great delivery!
I think the “Funnie & Porkchop” billboard is an in-universe advertisement for a law firm rather than a movie.
I'm not sure if you got that, but Funnie and Porkchop is a reference to Nickelodeon's (and later Disney's) animated series Doug. Doug's last name is Funnie and his dog's name is Porkchop.
I agree. I just made the same comment, before I saw yours. The billboard clearly states, "Your injury is not funnie," making it sound like a personal injury law firm.
Now I see why this movie had a $200 million budget
What
the most craziest part that this is a disney movie with cameos from disney's competitors like dreamworks, paramount, nickelodeon, cartoon network e.t.c
Its kind of sad how they made Sweet Pete's backstory so similar to the original actor of Peter Pan's. Similarly, he was dropped by disney when he got too old. He then became a heavy drug user and later died in an abandoned building where he wasnt found until a year after his death :(
7:57 Great to see that Doug hasn’t been completely forgotten.
I think, since the billboard states, "Your injury is not funnie," Funnie & Porkchop is the name of their law firm, not a movie starring them.
@@brookenewborn372 Thank you! I wanted to make this comment myself, but I needed to see if anybody else noticed.
@@brookenewborn372 which indirectly implies they have a pretty successful life, what with having their own law firm that can even afford advertising in the first place. Glad to see they're doing well in that universe :)
I know that peace of brown anime hair 15:55 is soras hair
Great video! I also noticed in Chip's freezer, there is a reference to Frozone from The Incredibles, Ice Age, and Loony Tune's Foghorn. I also saw someone post online that there is a reference to Spider Verse as one of the graffiti pieces from the film can be found in a scene.
Most Easter eggs ever in a movie, these guys deserve a Guinness world record
Sonic: I thought you were dead.
Ugly Sonic: My death was, greatly exaggerated.
I thought he was laid off after fan backlash and he really let himself go, hence his gut and baggy eyes.
So this Easter egg is a very obscure one. There's a bald monk character that sells wigs when they're in Main Street. That character is called Mr. Natural created by Fritz the cat creator, Robert Crumb
Which is weird, since I don't think Mister Natural ever had an animated show or movie. Fritz the Cat, however, would've made for a more interesting Cameo from Crumb. Also...google pretty much anything by Crumb at your own risk. 😄
@@Guernicaman yeah, he didn't want anyone to touch his properties after Fritz the Cat. So it was surprising to see his favourite character Mr Natural in this film.
@@Guernicaman according to wiki he had an appearance in a porno called ' Up In Flames'. This was done without Crumb's knowledge
@@duckmurai - Was he animated? Or was Mister Natural's appearance in live-action?
I know everyone is all over the T-1000 thing, but Captain Putty’s final battle at the end with Ellie is a huge reference to Judge Doom actually being a Toon in WFRR, with all the shape shifting, but especially the anvil hand right before he gets extinguished.
Hey there Dave! I've seen several Cameos in this movie. And they are all awesome. For example: ( lumiere From beauty and the beast (1991)) pumbaa ( from The lion king (2019) Mantis ( from DreamWorks Kung Fu panda ) and B.O.B. from DreamWorks monsters vs Aliens.
I think the cat crossed with Samurai Jack is Blacksad an anthromorphic noir detective French comic series, released in English by Dark Horse. It even has it's own video game.
And an awesome reference. I caught it as well.
A few other references to French comics include Obelix from Asterix and Obelix, Lucky Luke and possibly Asterix who seems to be fused with Naruto? But I could be wrong about that
The Tucan Sam and Iago bootleg also has Zazu from Lion King! :)
21:10 Great Lakes is the name of the town from cossegrandes where Ronnie Anne lived
So, they’re northern-hispanic?
"And a brown piece of anime hair" Dave that's Sora's hair from kingdom hearts as well. Love your vids btw ❤️
The Transformer who was in the opening sequence is the Autobot Communications Specialist, Blaster. Frequent rival/good-guy-answer to the Decepticon’s own Communications Specialist and Espionage Practitioner, Soundwave, one of the most iconic Transformers and 1980s villains (iconic for his vocoder filtered voice delivered by legendary voice actor, Frank Welker) of the decade…
Optimus Prime’s leg on Peter Pan post bootleg mishap is specifically from the character's model used in the 2018 Bumblebee movie, a live-action film where most of the characters take on appearances reminiscent of their depiction from the Generation One cartoon (and a soft-reboot to the live-action film franchise, likely meant to low key promote the next film, Rise of the Beasts)…
The first six ponies at the convention that appeared are actually a group nicknamed the Mane Six from the 4th generation of My Little Pony, named in order of appearance; Twilight Sparkle (the lavender one), Pinkie Pie (the pink, curly-haired one), Rarity (the white unicorn who was closest to the screen), Rainbow Dash (the cyan one with the rainbow-colored mane), Applejack (the orange one with a Stetson hat), and Fluttershy (the yellow one with the long pink mane). Other known/named ponies from this generation also appear in that crowd, and funnily enough, they are the same size as the toys they are based on.
When Sweet Pete is in his cell in a straightjacket, handtruck, and mask, that is a flat-out reference to Hannibal Lector. I am surprised that no one else caught it, or if they did, didn't talk about it.
The Silence of the Lambs scared the bejesus out of me and so did Sweet Pete.
My favourite thing to find was noting all of The Lonely Island are in this. Akiva directing and voicing, Andy voicing a starring role, and Jorma also voices.
I am a huge biggest #1 fan of chip n dale rescue rangers for 33 years and in two months on July 20th is my 23rd birthday
There a cameo at the end when they release the victims from the container bin, the turtle is the same Turtle from Disney’s Robin Hood with the animals!
I saw that too
You missed that the cannon attached to Pete's arm near the end greatly resembles a Bullet Blaster from the mario series going so much as to have the cannons shot from them have similar faces!
The line "I'M WALKIN' HERE!!" in Midnight Cowboy was Dustin Hoffman's real reaction to almost being hit by the cab. The cab that almost hit them was real ,the driver didn't know (or didn't care) that a movie was being filmed
HUGE respect for churning out this video, Dave! Great stuff!
Thanks, James!
@@DaveLeeDownUnder Keep up the good work
I see people routinely still try to capture the magic of Who Framed Rodger Rabbit.
Absolutely impressive mate.
The Multiverse of Madness we all wanted but didn't get.
Great video Dave Lee, thanks for all the time you put into doing this. I did miss a few myself, so was glad you made this :)
The “Fred Flintstone meets King Louie” is actually just Bigfoot from “A Goofy Movie” wearing Fred Flintstone garb.
Among the cameos, actors that did not reprise their roles include Adam Carolla, Horatio Sanz, Caroline Rhea, Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain, Laya DeLeon Hayes, and Trey Parker. Among who did not cameo include Spike the Dragon. Hopefully he does for the sequel with the Mane 6, and the G5 Mane 6 together.
I'm glad they added that super famous Easter egg "Girl with a Batman shirt"
Mr. Natural from Robert Crumb’s underground 1960s comix makes an appearance in the Main Street sequence. There’s also an ad for “Senator Butthead” seen on a bench later in the movie.
Can we all agree that Gadget getting married to Zipper is the must uncomfortable thing in the movie?
Also that’s not Avatar Aang, It’s Naruto.
Gadget's married to Zipper in the movie. Mind blown.
UGLY SONIC GOES SLOOOWWW BABEY!
If flaps and the vultures were here, Flaps would say " Blimey, he's got legs like a stork he has"
22:42 I’m pretty sure in addition to her cameo, Paula Abdul voices the 3D reporter character as well.
9:55 Gasp! Spider-Man appears in a live-action Disney film without Sony's approval! Also if you look on the left you can see The Cat, which means this is the second Marvel Netflix character to cross over into the movies lol
In the Coke bears first fight scene his roar is the classic bear roar audio that is used in every video game and movie. I recognized it from vanilla world of Warcraft from fighting bears constantly.
Wow amazing video, so many i missed watching the movie
@23:16 ”simple antrophomorphic”, seems more like goofy movie or quack pack reference to me with those teen poses!
16:24 Patrick Star mixed together with Wembley Fraggle?! I never expected to see that in my life.
17:21 you missed one Nintendo easter egg that cannon that he has is infamous bullet bill canon
All the cosplays at FanCon were amazing!! Did anyone else catch the Sombra from Overwatch? She had her back turned and was only on for a few seconds during the chase scene. Also, I did see Ash Ketchum in there too, outside of the con center.
That Darkwing cameo was funny
Hey Dave, here are a few Easter eggs, cameos and references that you missed:
1. A frozen food package with Foghorn Leghorn and another with Frozone from The Incredibles labeled “Frozone Food” can be seen in Chip’s fridge.
2. After shooting the mock Rescue Rangers episode, Professor Nimnul from the original show can be seen in the background.
3. Among the Toon body parts are the hat of a Smurf, the gloves of Dexter’s mom from Dexter’s Laboratory, the mouth of the Red Guy from Cow and Chicken and the legs of Dora the Explorer.
4. Two of the students in Chip and Dale’s school resemble Daria and Kearney from The Simpsons.
5. One of the bootlegs is a Snork crossed with Toy Story’s Woody. The Jiminy Cricket bootleg is crossed with Finn from Adventure Time and the Care Bear bootleg is crossed with Eek the Cat. After Peter Pan has been bootlegged, he has the shoulder plate of Shredder from the original TMNT cartoon.
6. McGruff the Crime Dog can briefly be seen in the police station (which was probably my favorite Easter egg/cameo ha ha)
7. At one point Zipper exclaims “Rescue Rangers, away!” which was a catchphrase from the original show.
8. Chip mentions a couple of times how the most degrading thing for cartoon characters is to resort to rapping. This, along with “Now That’s What I Call Cartoons Rapping” is a riff on how a lot of modern remakes of cartoons feature the character rapping, which is a common criticism.
9. While Double-O Dale is clearly a reference to James Bond, it could also be a deep-cut reference to Double-O Duck, an unmade DuckTales spinoff starring Launchpad McQuack as a secret agent that eventually became Darkwing Duck.
10. The donut cops from Wreck-It Ralph can be seen during the investigation of Monterey Jack’s apartment.
11. Ellie mentions how when she and her squad infiltrated Nick Jr. Studios, one of her fellow cops was attacked by the Paw Patrol.
12. The announcer at the convention is voiced by Tad Stones, the original creator of Chip ‘n Dale, Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck.
13. Mr. Natural, a character who often appeared in R. Crumb’s underground comics appears as a fur seller in the Main Street sequence.
One quibble with your quibbles, specifically #12. Tad Stones is identified in the credits as "Studio Executive" - and he has specified in a Facebook post that he was the voice on the phone offering the chipmunks their own TV series.
@@dgspeirs Whoops thanks for that
I desperately want to see number 11
That poor cop can never have kids!
" After shooting the mock Rescue Rangers episode, Professor Nimnul from the original show can be seen in the background." Y'know, I thought I was done hating this film. Instead of a film about the Rescue Rangers, that could have had Nimnul and Fat Cat, they're reduced to cameos. One so obscure that someone didn't even notice it while looking for them.
What a load of work friend!!! I think there's some evidence of Tron 2....
The number of Easter Eggs on this movie is just INSANE!
When the cat monster says “you fools” that is the Shredder’s voice from the classic TMNT cartoon. He used to always say it to Bebop and Rocksteady and the cat monster is also wearing one of Shredder’s shoulder pads.
I think it’s cruella devile “you fools, you idiots” when Horace, jasper, and her have gone down the hill. I mean, maybe they used it from TMNT but I’d go check out that scene from 101 Dalmatians. It’s towards the very end and then decide
@@fae206 maybe. They have credited Jim Cummings with doing the voice of Shredder in the movie and I think the monster was using the voice and a saying from each character that made up his body and they had already used Cruela for another line which is why I am leaning towards Shredder.
I think you got that confused for the line, "Two words, Chimpmunk Soup"
The dress and red wig in Dale's trailer at the beginning of the movie are from a Rescue Rangers episode, so I wouldn't be surprised if the other costumes are from real episodes too.
You're right they are - on the clothes rack you can see a Cavalier's costume (hat, gloves and tunic) as well as a large cowboy hat and jacket. These are from the episode "A Case of Stage Blight". The red wig, necklace and dress are from "Adventures in Squirelsitting"
Randy Marsh and Senator Butthead are probably the two most shocking cameos. I want an entire movie of Butthead's political campaign. Please?
At 11:29, there also are two police officers from Gumball (Donut Cop)
And at 16:20, it is most likely a cross between Samurai Jack and John Blacksad, from the Blacksad Comicbooks series (the author is a former Disney animator)
In the same scene, there is also a cross between Lucky Luke and a Snork
I absolutely loved this movie! It was the first time for me to experience a crossover on this scale! I wasn't alive to watch Who framed Roger Rabbit, and I wasn't old enough to understand most of the references in other movies like the new Space Jam. Of course, I didn't get all the references in this one either, rescue rangers didn't even air in the Netherlands! But I was still able to pause and gaze in awe to see characters from different studios in the same movie, despite those studios waging war on each other since the day they were founded.
Finally, a movie with nostalgia for people from the 2000's, and not just the 90's! Finally I was able to see easter eggs from movies _I_ grew up with, like kung fu panda and Monsters vs Aliens! Finally I was able to pause and scream to see squidwards name written on the walk of fame, and seeing Linda Flynn as a background character! Even pausing the movie for a good ten minutes trying to figure out where I recognised those donut cops from! (It was Wreck-it-Ralph).
But it wasn't _just_ references! It was actually a cool story, with the same type of self awareness that the animaniacs reboot has! Stating the obvious and setting up jokes that you can see miles ahead, but without being anywhere near cringe!
Even having amazing world building some other movies would be jealous of!
God, this was an experience for me! And I loved every single second of it!
I cannot believe I actually have some that weren’t on here OMG my time has come
Con cosplay cameos: Geralt from the Witcher
And in Chip’s fridge is an ice cream with the Ice Age logo and a Loony Tunes frozen chicken dinner
Not sure if I already said this before, but I'll still say it just in case.
Space Jam 2: A New Legacy and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.........eat your Heart out.
Finally a movie 🎥 for a 90's afternoon cartoons
