CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) discovers that he is not a man but a hybrid terminator.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The fourth installment of the Terminator series follows an adult John Connor (played by Christian Bale) as he attempts to organize a human resistance force which could prove to be mankind's last true hope in the war against the machines. Opening in the year 2018, Terminator Salvation finds John Connor's certainty about the future shaken by the sudden appearance of a mysterious stranger named Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), whose last memory is of sitting on death row and awaiting execution. Unable to determine whether Marcus was sent from the future or rescued from the past, Connor begins to wonder whether there is still any hope left for the human race as the robots grow more powerful and aggressive than ever before. It appears that Skynet is preparing a devastating final attack designed to eliminate the human resistance once and for all, leaving Connor and Marcus with no choice but to strike back at the cybernetic heart of Skynet's operations. Once there, the two battle-scarred soldiers discover a devastating secret regarding the potential annihilation of all humankind. Fun Fact: Bale lost his voice right after shooting a screen as Batman
Bale's voice was actually very raspy after shooting The Dark Knight for about four months.
The voice works though, it gives Bale that hardened war leader feel.

Let's take a moment and appreciate the fact that the time line is still engraved in John's head and that he more than ready to shoot down what ever "lie" Marcus was ready to tell him!
I goddamn love this movie and will never understand why so many people hate on it. It was epic, and this scene is the best.

I only liked the Terminator 2 and Terminator Salvation movies. Terminator 3 and Terminator Genisys movies were awful. No decent plotline with either of them. They were just take offs on the old Terminator 2 storyline.

Sam Worthington's robot character must have been programmed to function in both the US and Australia, and because of the damage he had taken to this point, his CPU couldn't decide which accent to use.
Such an underrated terminator movie!! It sucks they didn't continue with this branch of the franchise

The dialogue is so.... wrong. He says to Marcus "If we let you down, you'll kill everybody in this room." And Marcus replies "Just you, Connor. Cuz I don't give a shit about you."
That line makes NO sense. He has no idea what's even going on. And why would he decide to kill John if he doesn't give a shit about him? Why say THAT especially when he's in that predicament? It's like saying "I just found out I'm a robot. I just met you. I'll kill you, even though I don't care about you." So bad.

Marcus was a better protagonist than Connor himself. I would've loved to see a sequel to this & I wish Marcus was the 1 alive. Sam Worthington carried this whole movie. Such an underrated star & movie. Can't wait to see Avatar: Way of the water
This terminator movie may not have been good but its aged well with the fact that it's probably a future of the human race
I like Christian Bale, but he could've done better. I personally think Sam Worthington gave the best performance in this film (It may be my least favorite film of the series, but I like the Marcus character)

Man, I really, REALLY wish they had done the trilogy that they had planned and saved Marcus's death for the end of the final film. There was a lot of potential with that character.

Bale sounds exactly like Batman here, if you close your eyes and listen to just his voice, it's hard imagining any other character there.
I really don't see what's so bad about Christian Bale in this scene. His acting is just fine.
HERE IS THE TRUTH - because it's so hip to hate on the non-James Cameron Terminator movies, it's hard for you people to stay objective in your opinions. This scene looks decent and is decently acted and it's miles better than the trainwreck that is Terminator 3.
Christian Bale gives a performance that's very much in line with Linda Hamilton's performance in Terminator 2. Watch them back to back, and you'll see what Bale was going for in this movie. Easily angered, very frustrated but also almost manically driven, as if he is a machine himself.
And for the record, I rate this movie 3/5.
Ya at least Salvation tried to bring back the horror aspect that Cameron originally intended.
Bale's performence is fine, it's Sam Worthington and the writing which is truly horrible.
If I ever imagined how an adult version of John Connor would look and act like, Christian Bale would've been in the top 3 choice for that role.

I forgot how badly the Australian slips out in Sam Worthington's American accents.
Can we just focus on the fact that Marcus knew that the Kyle Reese he knew and the one John mentioned was the same person? How would you react if some 35-year-old man told you some 20-year-old you met the other day was his father? You wouldn't immediately go, "Oh yeah, I know that guy. He's on his way to Skynet." you'd go, "Huh, odd coincidence. I won't tell him that detail..."

Perhaps this isn’t a total masterpiece like Judgement Day, but I think Salvation is still entertaining and unique. Marcus is a great character. Definitely better than Rise of the Machines, Genisys or Dark Fate

All the reviews trashing this movie....
I've never seen the film, but all of these movie clips look pretty awesome to me.
It has its moments, but overall it's a missed opportunity. Of course, that could have been fixed with a sequel, but instead we got Genesys and Dark Fate which foolishly decided to play with the "time travel" plot point (which had been mostly skimmed over for very good reasons in earlier films) and made a convoluted mess and complete joke of the whole story.
