Fun fact.Giger suffered from night terrors and lucid dreaming and lots of his work comes straight from Gigers own dream scape.

Anyone who can make it to the Giger Museum should really try to go… to see the Spell in actual size is beyond detailed and just incredible in its scale! Then you can take the edge off at the Giger bar next door before making another round once things kick in a little!()! Also heard the masters grave (RIP) is nearby but he was still alive when I went, so not sure where exactly its located… Did I mention the town the museum is and it’s surrounding area is also a magnificent site to behold?? Bro…

If I were an alien studying humans, I would definitely try to understand H.R. Giger and what kind of psychological formula led him to produce this kind of art.

A testament to monochromatic work! I saw a documentary a long time ago where they stayed with Giger for days. He had a lot of people living off him and was having financial problems. Apparently he was not paid that well. He seemed to be struggling. Very sad.

I work in films, the problem was he did not understand the complex world of film making and sadly did not seek any advisors to assist and protect him and his work. The studio clearly took advantage of this and took every dollar they could that should have been rightfully his. He was a genius, lost to corporate greed.

Fun facts: 1) the film Alien would have not existed if there wasn't Star Wars before. The script for Alien was already written but the studio did not want to make it into a film because sci-fi films are always risky, however seeing the great success of Star Wars they wanted to follow up with another sci-fi. Since they already had the script for Alien they gave the project the go. 2) When director Ridley Scott was searching for inspiration to create the theme for Alien someone brought him a book of H. R. Giger's art and he immediately said: "This is it, don't even look any further" ... and Alien was born.

Giger left a legacy that will stand in human culture. The first ALIEN is unique, because Giger was in charge of the Art department. Ridley Scott let him do his job, and the rest is history... missing his talent...❤RIP, H.R. Giger❤

I say this with respect, but this feels like mental gymnastics solely performed to cope with one of the biggest doubt-causing hurdles man has faced forever, and the “We’ll never understand so just go with it” could be easily also be applied to many other theological questions, but often isn’t the concluding statement of those debates, as many of those actually involve explanations which, whether one believes in them or not, still feel like less of (as you said in the video) a copout.
Yes, I’m tired of hearing the problem of innocent suffering cited as the #1 reason for people’s atheism. It’s cliche at this point. But that cliche, however, is unfortunately one for a reason. Many of those citing it may just be parroting something from Richard Dawkins or even a comedian like Ricky Gervais, and they may not actually be wrestling with belief or putting effort into seeking truth. Many are, though. And they still have not been satisfactorily met with any explanation, even one that may essentially be saying “We’ll never know.” (We’ll never know many things), and that lack of any sense or reason in these explanations is what rightfully turned them away from belief.
    I honestly cannot blame them.

Giger once said he did not understand people's aversion to his diseased babies because he gave them all his face.

Giger's work is what got me into airbrushing when I was younger, but no matter how hard I tried I wasnt able to get my work to emulate the spooking, unnerving feeling of his work

Brain salad surgery album cover by Emerson lake & Palmer. I bought the necronicon book in 77. Alien came out in 79. The second I saw the adult alien, I knew giger designed it
