It's the same approach I've taken with Olgierd and his glowing saber charges. They share much of their moveset, in fact, albeit Dettlaff is quite a bit faster and has this unpredictable "nothing personal" attack which is the sole reason his fight is untenable without forcing it with Rend and dodging in advance.
You could also choose to roll instead of dodging and forego Axii altogether in this loop, but my stubborness gets the better of me, as I don't roll on principle.
It would be interesting to see the final fight with Detlaf. This fight using the Enhanced Edition mod is very different from the whole game and from other bossfights, I can’t understand the reason for the difference.
I recently downloaded w3ee redux, I hadn’t played hardcore modifications before, when I started playing this mod I was faced with more complex gameplay in which there is something to strive for and achieve, but I would like to ask a couple of questions I noticed in your video when fighting with flying with the creatures Kuroliskis basilisks griffins, it’s like you glue a camera behind the enemy’s back and skillfully change where the blow is delivered. How did you achieve this? and the last question is why don’t you use school armor?
Manual attack targeting is one of native W3EE features that allows you to "bend" your swings mid-animation, using Geralt's momentum to attack and evade at the same time. It's one of the foundational W3EE mechanics which you need to learn in order to master the mod's combat. I stick to the starting unskilled and ungeared Geralt because this is how I like the game to be played. To be honest, acquiring talents and crafting overpowered weapons and armour upsets the balance quite a bit and it is my preference to keep the experience consistently challenging throughout the entire playthrough.
@@DartiousEst Thank you for the quick and accurate answer, because it was according to your videos that I completed the dungeon with Keira, the boss itself did not cause any special problems, but the hounds of the wild hunt were quite difficult due to their random attacks after they approached, I already checked the useful information about the bends is in the game and works very well, also for this mod you need a lot of practice in countering attacks and parrying + studying the patterns of enemies, but it is much more fun than vanilla)
Yet all of them are predictable; CDPR's finest. A vast majority of archetypes can be bullied with just one or two moves. Still less of a joke fight than a leshen or chort unable to land a hit if you keep strafing.
Absolutely insane. I've NEVER seen anybody stop his charge with a simple attack!

Oh, nice take on axii to force distance and teleport strike

All in due time, to be sure. I've put my W3EE activities on hold until I've rediscovered the urge to play.

@@gg-sg3gw Of course. W3EE is not something you can pick up over a few casual evening sessions.
what swords do you use in this fight? best regards, have a nice day!
Those are the starting Kaer Morhen swords. All of my equipment, in fact, is the default Kaer Morhen set from the very start of the game.
thank You@@DartiousEst
if only the AI wasn't so predictable

I found the ranged striggan attack difficult
