"I've been eating good you can see it in my tummy, but im bugging I've been spending more, money than im making" Gotta love your level of realism and honesty dawg
I always loved how spiritual and ritualistic this version feels. It’s like despite what Earl is going through he is still grateful to those in the game who came before him and made all this possible. His use of ‘kid’ here feels like he’s acknowledging how a lot of people in the game that came before him died younger than he was rapping this and he’s living and creating to keep their memories alive. Not just for rap but for lessons in life
Imagine hearing these lyrics for the first time over your own beat, from Earl of all people. Must’ve felt like a dream. This beat definitely encapsulates Ade’s unique style & his unique emotions. “Keep pace, my nigga. Keep faith.”
honestly I always liked this beat better and after hearing the story of how the song all came together I wish they had put this version on the album it would've fit still.. but I get why earl chose to re-do it. I just wish they had communicated with adé hakim more about the whole situation because they really screwed him over
sometimes when i see these kinda comments and im hearing it after living with the released version first and i like it over the Og i think "sometimes" it just depends on which u heard/lived with first although with that being said this particular case the favoritism gap isn't all that big
Earl is the greatest artist of this generation along with Mac. These dudes make me happy in this fucked up world. I hope Earl gets piece of mind in the way he helped me
its just this version isnt mix and mastered its still so raw like he just layed the bars without really messing with the sequence, if this got the same mixing treatment as the album version it might have been better or atleast sound alot smoother.
Wonder if the sample couldn’t get cleared and is the reason why we got the other version... but both are great. This is something you play when you watch the sun raise from an all nighter
its clear that he wrote the vocals to fit over this beat but putting that same verse and everything over a different beat creates a sound that wouldn't otherwise be possible and I find that more interesting than the original. that being said you have to give Ade credit for the final version I feel because without this original beat the rhythmic ideas earl uses wouldn't be possible. its hard to explain this hope it makes sense
I see why he changed it the other one highlights the sadness of his lyrics and his delivery. It also sounds like he re-recorded it with a different sentiment in mind and it fits so seamlessly on the album with a great lead up to the next song this one is great no doubt but the mood is different

@@047Kenny he doesn't sound so old on this one which is pretty cool. The instrumental is a little wack an the album version's alright but this one is less monotonous
Vagina Crusher I prefer this version of the track but I think the album version of the song fits the sonic vibe of some rap songs way more than this version
Man it's a pretty damn sad story. To be able to give this beat, a beat that personal, to one of your favorite rappers just for some shit to happen like that. Heartbreaking. I'm glad that Nowhere2go still made it, Earl and Ade are cool, and we still got the OG version in the end, regardless of it making the album. I love both versions in their own ways. I just hope Earl and Ade link up again soon cuz this and Nowhere2go are definitely some of my favorite beats Earl has spit over
Keep Faith
Holy shit! It's Adé! You killed this beat man thank you for releasing this! Keep pace!
🐐
Blessed 💕✌🙏
Damn Adé just saw your video sad that the beat was changed without your notice even when it had a lot of value to you.
So this is the original?
“Earl is not my name, the world is my domain” 🔥🔥
"I'm drunk but I'm deadass" Earl 05/13/19

somehow hearing this makes me appreciate that whole album more.
One million percent.
This version definitely more emotional ✊🏾❤️🔥
Back from Ade Hakim?
@@YOSH931 yeah , I listened to his story. Earl and his label scammed him hard though.

U kno
What video?
Osaka Hotline the video with the original producer talking about how he got kinda fucked over with this song by earls team
Everytime I play this its like listening to it for the first time again it’s so intoxicating
This sounds more like something on solace than srs
This shits hard. Should’ve been a bonus. I wonder what other versions of songs on srs he has
Same here.
I feel like veins would have been the standout song on SRS if Earl used Ade’s beat. Still love the other veins , but this is a whole nother vibe 🧘♂️

they both work well imo, but this version definitely a better beat

john chris to me it sounds more lush and less minimalist than the rest of the production on the album. I do prefer this version over the album though
This the perfect comment
Wonder if the sample couldn’t get cleared and is the reason why we got the other version... but both are great. This is something you play when you watch the sun raise from an all nighter
Ade Hakim just put out a video explaining it
I prefer the other version much more but this is still very cool
The production on the other one perfectly cements the atmosphere he was tryna create
Facts
The other version is better, I agree
All of a sudden it pops up again cause Adè was talking about it , crazy

This makes absolute sense. The way you broke that idea down is interesting. Earl basically sampled himself. Kind of genius.
this version is so much better than the album version
nah
No

this is dope af for sure but I also definitely understand and appreciate why he changed the instrumental

different beats making me think of the same verse in a whole new way

Beat is beautiful
When Earl adopts a dog and you suggest to name it "dog"
