Highly highly highly recommend seeing this show! I saw it last week and was completely blown away. Comedy, emotions, and dancing! The whole LongAcre theatre was up and dancing at the end and it truly felt like a prom for everyone! Go see the show!
By the curtain call, the whole theatre is vibrating with JOY. YES! Beth said it. This is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece of a show. So happy I got to see it!
John Waters once said one of the things that made him happy about "Hairspray" becoming a musical was that when it finally got to be the high school musical, the high school's fat girl and gay boy would have the leads. I don't know if "Hairspray" has ever been done as a high school musical (I know it hasn't been done around here), and it makes me wonder if "The Prom" will ever become a spring musical. I hope so. It's time for a change from "Les Mis" and "Mama Mia."
MsSoundguy Actually Hairspray is a very popular show for high schools to do and it gives hope for plus size gals such as me who can't play all those waif thin ingenues.
Wonderful interview! I have seen the show twice now and I’m absolutely going to see it again. It’s really as hilarious, fun, heartwarming and joyous as they all say. I probably sound like someone who is attached to the show, but I am just a huge fan.
Brooks Ashmanskas ❤is the MVP of the show. A real favorite for him (great Broadway actor). So happy for him, he deserves much more project and success. And after seeing Season 1, I would have seen him much more in Lead than NPH (which is still good).👏👑
I'm all about the love between two people; however, I still find kissing between two chicks or two dudes really unappealing to watch. Doesn't make me, or anyone else who feels like me, a hater or intolerant. I wish the tolerance would go both ways.
Rebecca Rivera I think there are differences between not finding something appealing and protesting against it and saying it is wrong. I can not care for rap and still not look down on it or think people who create it or like it are stupid or terrible. But what you find unappealing is what is normal for some people - and something they don’t get to see the way straight people get to see themselves all the time. Personally, I think it’s sad that everyone can’t appreciate love in whatever form it comes.
One can only suppose what you think of anything that is beyond your shallow and narrow view of the world. Humanity doesn't exist in your predetermined "normative" categories. So just get over it or continue to live in the confined box that seems to be your world.
You're making an awful lot of assumptions. In fact, one might even call your views prejudiced. "Predetermined 'normative' categories?" I don't think you even know what that means. So just get over it that not everyone agrees with everybody and get on with your life in the PC world you obviously live in.
Where did I say homosexual couples couldn't enjoy themselves, or that I was demanding they not been seen on TV? Perhaps you haven't been paying attention but people lose their jobs, their businesses, and have their religious liberty violated for expressing any aversion to homosexuality. Honestly, the responses to my comments are steeped in the type of prejudice and intolerance that the homosexual community still accuses others of. They don't just want acceptance, they want full submission. And that I find extremely unappealing.

I love how engaging this interview was to watch! The interviewer really seemed to know her stuff, and the actors are amazing, of course!
The Prom is needed in the UK!

I appreciate love; I don't appreciate being forced to care about it in its' homosexual form.
