Wembley stadium 2017 in the rain 40 years later, you won’t be able to tell the difference from the original ! Jeff Lynne is an amazing vocalist. This is an amazing band.
ELO, Queen, Zepplin, Skynyrd, and a list of great artists and bands all operated in the same space. It was a huge tent of musical creation, some unique, some similar but all just cranking out music that moved the listener. The 60’s and 70’s were a great time to hear these masterpieces hit the airwaves. Even now, they all sound so darn good.
Mr. Blue Sky, Evil Woman, Roll Over Beethoven, All Over The World, Twilight, Last Train To London and so many more. ELO is rock meets classical instruments. Also check out their 4 song suite Concerto For A Rainy day-their most creative.
'A New World Record' is a great album... If you haven't done a review on the opener - you should do 'Tightrope'. I know people have suggested the 'Wembley Or Bust' concert - check out the '2014 Hyde Park' gig 'Showdown' is one of my favourites!... Great gigs! I know, I was at both concerts! Great review!
This song is a love song...at least to me. I lost my wife to cancer and I hope that if I let the phone "Ring for evermore" that someday...she will answer.
Hi guys Paul a 70 yr ageing hippy ( UK spelling) here I just love you young guys discovering and reacting to the music of my youth. What surprises me is not one of you dismiss our music as rubbish. I have had to start my own UA-cam 😅channel not as a money spinner as I am too old now but to hopefully educate just a little to the younger generations what it was like to be a product of what is referred to as the baby boomer generation. I myself chose a very hard path to follow as I fell in love as a white Englishman with a black Afro Caribbean fifty years ago and we are still together. Lots of love and hope for your future. Paul and ageing hippy ❤️❤️✌️✌️❤️❤️.
Jeff Lynne, lead vocalist, song writer of probably 98% of ELO"s music, producer, and plays instruments. he is amazing. ELO has probably at least 50 songs worthy of reacting to. their rabbit hole is deep and full...... thanks for the reaction.....................
Wonderful reaction to a truly wonderful love song. ELO was a brilliant band, and Lynn pure genius. He’s closing in on the end of his touring career. Only a few shows left. But you should do the two or three priceless live versions of this song. Incredible. “Do Ya” is a favorite, but so is “Evil Woman,” “Mr Blue Sky” and so many more.
ELO Wembley or Bust Concert at Wembley Stadium 2017 , several videos of songs from this concert on UA-cam . Listen to ELO back in 70s and still own 8 albums from them . They haven't missed a beat in over 40 years . Check them out .
Well, for ELO, you can almost throw a dart at a list and not miss. Try out Don’t Bring me Down, Evil Woman, Mr Blue Sky, Livin Thing, Can’t Get You out of my Head, and Turned to Stone.
Also react to the song living thing, then in 1976 ! Then do Wembley stadium in 2017 in the rain you won’t be able to tell the difference again ! Unbelievable
You gotta see this live at Wembley. The crowd participation is equally good as the concert. It's so awesome to see. And the effects of layers... gotta see it.
Hello guys and thank you for your reaction to this beautiful song ❤Jeff Lynne is a musical genius there are so many great songs there for ye I hope ye enjoy thanks again
Jeff Lynne the singer is also the genius who wrote these songs. VERY talented and a musical genius. He wrote most of the songs from top to bottom by himself. In the 70s with little technology.
Fun fact: How did the band ELO get its name? The orchestra's name is a joke on "electric light" and a "Light Orchestra" (an orchestra that plays light music).
No, that's incorrect. Firstly, a light orchestra is not an orchestra that plays light music. Light orchestras are defined as orchestras with just two cellos and one violin, and they were very popular throughout England when co-founder, Roy Wood, named the band. The word "light" in "light orchestra" does not refer to playing light music, they could play quite loudly. No, the word "light" in "light orchestra" was there to contrast with a full orchestra, which had not just more violins and cellos, but often many other string and brass instruments, as well. What orchestras...whether they be light or full...did not generally have was electric instruments associated with rock bands, like guitars and basses. So when ELO founders Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne were conceiving the band, their premise was to make music that married "electric" rock instruments (guitar and bass) with the strings (2 cellos & 1 violin) of a light orchestra, and call the band, *Electric Light Orchestra.* So the band name is not a joke, it is a marriage of two types of music, Rock (Electric) and Classical (Light Orchestra). Sure, ELO did use a light bulb graphic on their first couple album covers as a cheeky nod to their band name, but never really again.
I saw them 3 months ago in Boston to a full house. There was only 3 or 4 more live shows till Jeff Lynne retired from playing live. He will continue to record and produce though. Check out his greatest hits albums to hear the sheer variety of sounds and songs.
Jeff Lynne, a musical genius , singer, songwriter , producer who’s been around for a very long time. Please react to Livin Thing, Tightrope, Mr. Blue Sky. Shangri la and many more.
You'll get a lot of suggestions for "Mr. Blue Sky." Listen to the album version (not the official video). The album version is the complete song. Have fun with the genius that is Jeff Lynne. 🤘😎❤
I was a teenager when this song was popular and to me the band always sounded like they took that one Beatles song, Elanor Rigby, and decided to create an entire band with that unique sound, of that one particular song, and create an entire signature sound for their band, Electric Light Orchestra. Songs driven by lyrics that have a basic and steadily rhythmic melody that are punctuated by an orchestral string section, heavy on the cellos. Not every song but the group just always struck my as very "mid-Beatles era" derivative.
You knew the song well before you saw it Live -- give them that opportunity too. You can't expect people today to hear something today for the first time exactly like you did back then. The radio made it a hit -- the Live made it legendary because it was first a hit. Let it first become a hit for these people too
ELO has a sizable repertoire to choose from. Unfortunately most of the reactions I've seen are of the same 3 or 4 songs. Roll Over Beethoven was recorded in their earlier days and was an early hit. It showcases the strength of this band early on. They have been a great concert band all these years even now whilst on their final tour.
nwr 76 i tink?. yeah its a band formed in v erly 70s, jeff v leader is still touring. fushion of rock, blues, pop, clasical, disco, so creative, had lots top 40 hits, enjoy!
Albums: "Face the Music" and "Eldorado". This one's pretty good too, "New World Record". Steer clear of the recent recordings until you've heard the original material.
As previous you should listen to Jeff Lynne’s ELO Live at Wembley Stadium. Jeff Lynne is the mastermind behind the group founded in 1970. He writes and sings etc, basically he’s a genius!
Theses lot are from Birmingham UK where I’m from. There music is a mix of Rock and Orchestra.Next one you should listen to is Mr Blue Sky.There’s lots.
This song is VERY Beatles influenced. the "Telelphone line" lyric melody is similar to the counter melody in Hello Goodbye "Hello Goodby Hello Goodby____" on the major scale, and the whole style of the song is similar.
Thanks, kids... Jeff Lynne is genius.. you might also see some live versions... lol appreciate your reactions... (p.s. Queen came out a bit earlier.. but they really are VERY different groups.. ).. also, when you have time & inclination, check out of the least-known and BEST "supergroups" called the Traveling Wilburys.. this was George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan.. and Jeff Lynne..
Jeff Lynnes ELO with this song at Wembley Stadium in 2017 is a must. ✌️
They were right to do the original version first though
But....seeing the stage, Lights, the whole band and the people reacting in the stadium is awesome
The entire concert is FIRE
Yes Jeff still sounds fantastic.
Amazing concert 👍 Also the live Acoustic set from Bungalow Palace 🙏

Both Queen and ELO came out in the early 70's. Both are British bands.
Loved this song when I was 10,I'm 58 now and I still love this song.
ELO has very large catalog of great music! I was fortunate to see them live back in the day. Sometimes it's a good thing to be old!
I just giggle when I run across a reaction to ELO from someone who has never heard them. Prepare mind to be blown!
There was a time before cell phones and VM when listening to the landline phone ring was the loneliest place.
ELO is a deep and fantastic rabbit hole to go down! Tons of hits that will blow you away! Great reaction!
Anytime I want to hear what it sounds like when a man's heart breaks, I listen to this song. They are a fantastic group of musicians.
This song is a love song...at least to me.
I lost my wife to cancer and I hope that if I let the phone "Ring for evermore" that someday...she will answer.
Thanks guys! 🙂Check out the live from Wembley in London 2016!! You will love it!😍😍😍
Was such a pleasure growing up a kid in the 70/80s and hearing amazing bands like this on the radio. Good times!!
Mr Blue Sky, Living Thing

Dig deep into Jeff Lynne!! He’s masterful ❤
Music Royalty 🙏
Jeff Lynnes voice is legendary. He even joined the superband The Travelling Wilburies in the 80s.
The leader Jeff Lynne was a huge Beatles fan, and went on to produce George Harrison in the 80s, and The Beatles in the 90s.

I love Living Thing
That album in 1976 - A New World Record was wild. One of the best of the decade. I remember buying it on vinyl as a kid.
Face the music..
They are SENSATIONAL LIVE!!!!!!!
I remember the 1st time I heard ELO. I was in the United States Marine Corps. One of my favorite groups.
Point of interest the guy singing was also a Traveling Willbury.

@@Cosmo-Kramer I said the same thing in less words and the words were taken directly from their website and quotes.
@@MooreCEJr You did not say the same thing, and I don't care where you got it from it is wrong.
@@Cosmo-Kramer No, just no.
@@MooreCEJr Suit yourself, stay delusional.
My hero!! Electric (most instruments are electric), Light Orchestra (2 cellos and one violin makes it a light orchestra).
My kids and I saw Jeff Lynne's ELO in St. Louis back in September. EPIC show.
I saw them 3 months ago in Boston to a full house. There was only 3 or 4 more live shows till Jeff Lynne retired from playing live. He will continue to record and produce though. Check out his greatest hits albums to hear the sheer variety of sounds and songs.
Queen was popular through the 70s too
You need the album that song came from, A New World Record, every song is fantastic.👍
You are right. They are EPIC! Mr Blue Sky should be next.
They have a whole bunch of songs you will love & rock to. Look them up and react. You won't be sorry......great band
His final show will be 13/7/25.The end to a great career. Thanks Jeff.
I’ll be watching Jeff & ELO on July 10 in Manchester, UK. ( all the way from Sydney, Australia). Super excited!!!

Should have done the live Wembley stadium version .
This was made in the 70’s. Queen came out in the 70’s.
Telephone Line live from Wembley Stadium in 2017 is an awesome live performance. ELO are known for there live visual concerts
I haven't heard anything by them in a very long time. They don't get much classic rock love lately.
Late 70s rocked everywhere.😍
Wembley live. A must
ELO's entire "Out Of The Blue" album is great!
You really need to watch the live version at Wembley Stadium
My dog connected to this song more than shoulder buddy in the corner. Talk about being bewildered and confused lol
get on the ELO army! they are awesome! Jeff Lynn is a musical genius!
I'm never the guy to argue against ELO. One of my top picks. Thanks for the reaction.
Jeff Lyne was ELO. He was called the fifth beatle, but so was the fabulous billy preston.
They had 6 albums before this one came out. Brilliant. You must check out the Eldorado LP. Great songs on it
If you would have watched the live version of this... that would have been a VIBE
