Never seen it myself either. I don't think it's a good idea tho based on the technology. Roof normally has silt and algae build up due to dust and other organic material. So having a surface with that much surface area to trap these material, I don't think is a good idea. This is just me thinking about the technology and the principle behind it. I could be wrong tho.

There is no set way to determine if the drawings prepared is to standard unless you take it to thencouncile to see if whats prepared is acceptable. Always have a set printed and taken to the council for inspection before you pay up all your money.

Ajawi, what is the standard for steel work used in decking the top of a 1st floor? How wide is each square of the tied steel? Is there a way to calculate the amount of steel to be used in a specific area?
I have been working with paint, surecoat, and trowel on and base on my experience this is what I observe works best It depends on what u r looking for: 1 trowel on will offer a textured finish,( works best on smooth surface) 2: paint just recolor surface smooth or rough. for House/building/wall/ that r old, was painted before, want to renovate, have small cracks, edges have small imperfection/ on exterior - use trowel on for best result= ur wall surface after using will look like new, it will cover imperfections (if done right, it will cover cracks and so on) + trowel on comes in different color. It comes in fine, medium or coarse. the coarser grain trowel on look best. For interior walls with imperfections I use sure coat (white) if u looking for a smooth finish, (this finish is smoother that cement rendering and will take less paint (should u paint it) * for old ceiling, paint keeps striping due to moisture when it rain, grey sure coat (the grey one is more water proof) followed by a cover up with white surecoat for best finish. (the grey sure coat very hard to sand and the finish on the grey coat may not be as smooth and refine like the white, as the white takes the sanding process better) If you just build ur house new walls with no crack, u can do with a high quality paint and done. (interior & exterior) Of u want a more refined, smooth wall sure coat (interior walls) then use good quality paint. Or if u have the money, trowel on for protection, textured finish., style, Just bare in mine trowel on always leaves a textured finish, u can repaint trowel on anytime u want to change color, or u can pressure, wash it,. Berger has the better quality.
Let me tell you about the biggest decorating secret in Jamaica that for some reason, it's not discussed, however venetian plaster (limestone plaster, marble plaster, Italian plaster Stucco plaster, Veneziano), is more attractive than trowel on and will last you for centuries.

Power wash the existing wall to remove all dirt and scum, add an aggregate base primer (Anchor Primer), then apply your Trowel On.
