Tips. Stealth is your best friend. Bricks are your other best friend. I didn’t realize till this current playthrough that you can melee attack enemies with bricks and they’re always a kill. Melee 3 times and even clickers go down for good. SCAVENGE. This is obvious but be super conservative with ammo. I really don’t like using ammo unless I’m far along a run and in combat and don’t wanna restart a run lol. Always have a melee weapon on you. Melee weapons are so useful for saving ammo ofc
There's a cycle that the bullets from the armored truck go through, so you know exactly when to run and you don't get hit at all. It will shoot, stop, shoot, stop shoot, stop THEN you have a short window to run to the next cover -- unless it resets, and you know it's resetting the cycle when it does a 1-bullet shot anytime during this 3-burst cycle.
Also I’m not sure if this is useful for y’all rn now, but on a grounded playthrough on remastered you can’t stealth the truck and it usually detects you like if it was a script. I’m not sure if the Remake does this still so I’m not 100% sure
I found a glitch in Pittsburg. So at 8:06, he passed by those three guards at the beginning; if you follow the closest guard that leads nearest to the start of this section on the left side of the corner. Instead of silently taking him out. If you beat him with a tool before he's able to warn anyone or that foreboding noise kicks in. Almost everyone is frozen on the first floor, and on the second floor, half the people are frozen. But reinforcements are stuck at the initial area they usually come in. So you can sneak past all the frozen people and take out those who move. But when you leave through the exit, they do get unstuck and start moving around wildly, looking for you.
I just beat TLOU 2 on Grounded NG+ and pretty much everything in this video applies to that game as well. Stealth was the first priority in all encounters, but I did fight more when I got to the end of Abby's section. There was a surprising amount of encounters you could stealth or run past, and I managed to escape lots of times I got caught (although I got stupidly lucky at times). Lots of times I skipped loot in favor of slipping past enemies undetected, you might not get much supplies but you won't use any either. Stunning enemies with bottles/bricks and then melee executing them was a great way to save ammo. And let's not forget the amount of times losing my mind restarting checkpoints after every time I get spotted or miss a headshot xdd there's a LOT of trial and error to be had. But it felt good to beat the game in the end, and playing the way I did I had lots of ammo for the ending fights. What a game!
I'm doing a grounded /permadeath run by chapter ain't no way I'm doing a permadeath run by act or full game I died twice in Jackson and Twice in Seattle day 1 ... Those damn clickers go agro at the slightest sound
@@dannyrivera8300 I'm not putting any permadeath on a Grounded playthrough, I prefer to stay sane xd and yeah those clickers are ridiculous. You have to move at the absolute slowest possible speed around them
For me the hardest part in grounded mode is the first gunfight with David in the cabin. It usually takes me 4 to 5 tries to get past it because I always get caught trying to reload. Everything else is pretty easy.
I struggle on that section in general. The amount of times I had to restart that first cabin fight on moderate was ridiculous. Honestly scared to get to that part because I’m not doing well for ammo atm and I’m with Sam and Henry
Hardest part for me was the school bloater and I struggled on financial district where you first give Ellie the rifle and she covers you whilst you have to kill every enemy 😢
I am playing this game for the first time ever on the PS5. Livestreaming it on TikTok. I am playing on hard difficulty (2 before grounded). Am loving the game so far. Big respects to you bro!
Props on surviving Grounded mode. My grounded playthrough was so satisfying. Even though it was my 3rd time completing the story I still cry evertim. Also I had to murder everything when I played. Thanks for the quality video poop guy
Truly amazing the amount of work you seem to put in your videos. I really enjoyed watching this video so far, its very relaxing and informative, keep it up brotha!
Lovely vid, Dr! I last played the Campaign during 2020 lockdown, and this year decided to do Grounded - I had a very similar experience as you did. Glad I did it, but tough to recommend!
I find it particularly funny when, for example, there are 8 opponents on floor one of a building, you eliminate one of them in stealth and then all of a sudden they all decide to go upstairs to you in exactly the same room where you have eliminated one of their colleagues in stealth as if all of them are in possession of the 7th sense.
I think being able to get head shots is the most important thing. Playing Part 2 after not playing the game for 5 years, I'm not doing well getting head shots.
I'm playing TLoU P1 for the first time now on PS5. Loving and hating the game at the same time. For me, mastering the controller and the jank feel for precision shots is the most frustrating thing. I've dialed in my controller option settings but still find it very unsettling at times. I like to be challenged but not to the point of being frustrated and angered while playing games. I'm getting better but there are parts of this game where I've had to repeat sections over 10 times until I was able to get through to the next checkpoint, especially those sections where you play as Ellie. What I do like about her though is you can dart up from a stealth position and get those switchblade kills quickly. I bumped the difficulty down one step below moderate just to avoid some frustration.
TLOU 1 Remaster on playstation 4 had a much more difficult grounded. I blasted through the ps5 remake's grounded, and was shocked at how quickly i completed it. I think it's because they tweaked the ammo drops to be a lot more forgiving in the ps5 version. Honestly, if you enjoyed this playthrough I want you to try the Ps4 version. The highs are much higher , and the lows much lower! The Left Behind DLC final battle is the most difficult set piece out of all of it. Get through that and you will know you're a very good player!
The ending of Left Behind on Grounded on PS4 was one of the hardest things I've ever beaten in a game. Never again. And yes, the checkpoints seem easier on PS5 Grounded than PS4 Grounded.
Yeah, I'm watching now and he says the game is quite forgiving on checkpoints in Grounded. That is true, but not on the PS4 version, which has absolutely brutal checkpoints. I know that last hospital section has to be done on one checkpoint, both upstairs and downstairs, which is nuts.
Sniper is another portion that has no checkpoints on PS4. I can see why they changed it on PS5, because it was soooooo frustrating. I didn't plan ahead for that section, since it wasn't hard on the lower difficulties, but I had no health and literally no ammo. Was so hard for me, combined with the lack of checkpoint. That was actually the hardest part of the game until Left Behind on Grounded.
Currently stuck in the hotel in Pittsburgh! I kept sneaking through to the stuck elevator door but then enemies came up the stairs and killed me. I tried stealth killing everyone but died with only two enemies left :( It's trial and error but it's frustrating
