In keeping with the Canadian artist theme that Garrett suggested, I think any Norval Morrisseau painting would be an incredible place to start in designing jeans.
1) Rockin’ Jellybean x N&F x Mona Lisa Tragic Blonde. 2) Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatta with something like blue-grass weft. The orange and purple selvedge would pop. Incorporate elements of “pointillism” by having a subtle dot pattern or speckled texture through the fabric mimicking the style of the artwork. The hardware could have a motif or symbol from the painting (like an umbrella). Its not Canadian or Japanese (see #9) but it is French. 3) Picasso’s Three Musicians speaks to art & music, which we all appreciate. The selvedge could be sheet music (as seen in the artwork). The right back pocket’s side could have a guitar where licensed stuff had a logo. 4) Hand Reflecting Sphere with the Tragic Blonde. The easy thing would be to do a black/white with a holofoil patch. Something fun would be black stainless steel pants or reflective denim. Have some type of limited edition, puzzle type packaging that represents MC Escher. 5) American Gothic with the Tragic Blonde & the Brute. The colors would be plumb with a pattern on the selvedge to match her dress and red line to match the barn. It would have the dirty fade undertone because they are farmers. The top button would have a pitch fork. x) You do a lot of cat stuff. People have been asking for dog. Why not “Dogs Playing Poker.” (Girlfriend saids that’s a terrible idea. Very terrible; nobody wants that. X that one out and move on) 6) Ive mentioned Starry Night a few times. I noticed you don’t have much with yellow. Im looking forward to the yellow selvedge this season on the ocean’s edge. (my girlfriend says Starry Night is overrated) 7) Tragic Blonde Girl with Pearl Earring was also oddly popular a few years ago. (girlfriend says this would have been a good idea except its recently been over-done) 8) I think the Screem would be fun with like, “aaahhh” or “scream” written on the selvedge. The pocket flasher for Vulgar 3 has similar colors and maybe stitching so the Tragic Blonde screaming profanities might also be fun. *9) To continue your ocean series that you are doing this year, “The Great Wave of Kanagawa.” This is also a Japanese Artist so it really should be top of the list. 10) Persistence of Memory would have elongated pockets. This drapey fabric would be an over-dyed denim so that you need more persistence to fade it. Although drapey, also tough so you can make more memories with this denim. -Sold with an extra bit of fabric that is equally over-dyed , and ready to make new memories. The extra bit of fabric would reenforce the idea of persistence. It could have a clock visible on the weft side. The wearer can cut the over dyed patch to a smaller size to mend their first rip. (since pants dont melt, I think rip is the idea) It would have undertones of the barren landscape. Clock on the button. N&F: Pants dont melt? Challenge Accepted. --> wax pants 11) Vincent’s Bedroom in Arles (not to be confused with Vincent on N&F) 12) Lawren Harris does Canadian Landscapes. 13) Graffiti. 14) If you redo the Golden Hour slub, do it in a Monet Sunset style. He has a few sunsets. 15) Other Picasso ideas would be like, “crossways denim” or “puzzle piece” with irregular rivet shapes.
If you need a break from paintings, try "Great Gatsby." The cover is blue. This would be a green cast because green is one of the book's tropes that represents desire, reunion, and pursuing dreams. To celebrate the Gilded Age, do gold thread with gilded, art deco hardware. The eyes of T.J. Eckleburg (seen on the cover) could be on the selvage with a red line to match the lip color.
The jack pine by Tom Thompson would be really cool. I’m with Garrett going for a Group of 7 piece of art. Elephant 3 for the review! Be well team This week!
Will some of the newer releases be updated with measurements soon? Been thinking about the Broken Twill and Sky Blue LHT, but the fits I'm interested in don't have measurements posted. Thanks!
Got to be Elephant 3! At least my vote anyway. For artist jeans, something cubist by Picasso, as an example, Portrait of Ambroise Vollard, got the French name in too for duel language Canada.
An ancient Greek statue, like the winged Victory in the Louvre. Ecru, but with some pop of colour to mark the bright colours these statues were originally painted with, like colourful neps, sectioned-dyed weft warns, or multi-colour selvedge ID. The Victory could even replace the Tragic Blond on the patch.
Drapey fabric with elongated pockets? Possibly an over-dyed indigo because its called "Persistence of Memory" so make it harder to fade. Make it more persistent
Id like to see the Tragic Blonde in the style of "Hand with Reflecting Sphere." The style could recycle simple black/white undertone, stainless steel, reflective pants, or something new
I agree with everyone saying Starry Night, a mix of natural and golden nep to echo the stars maybe. Also the Great Wave off Kanagawa, with waves of slub and ecru contrast stitching.
Can ya'll talk about sizing up recommendations? I've been sizing up one lately, and enjoying the extra room, but I know Vinny and Justin size up by 2 or even 3 sometimes. I'm afraid of my jeans looking too baggy if I do that, but they look fine?
I think you could go up 1 - 2 sizes and still wear the jeans fine. How they look will depend on your body type, but they certainly will look a bit looser. Luckily, a that's the way a lot of things are trending these days. If styled right, you won't look out of place.
Dude in the A2 , great jacket but that belt😞, need a beefy brown belt to compliment it. It’s also too narrow for your belt loops, it’s all in the details.
Maxim's is rocking the full tatami denim suit.
Starry Night by Van Gogh and the Light Weight denim for the fade review.
I love getting messages from Terry every order, he always remembers my kitty 😊
I would love to see the interpretation of Van Gogh’s Starry night, it has always been my favorite piece of art
That would make a great neppy denim!
The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam is a must see!
Great to see that Maxim is getting more comfortable being in front of the camera!
was thinking the same thing, he seems like a really chill guy
I think so too!
In keeping with the Canadian artist theme that Garrett suggested, I think any Norval Morrisseau painting would be an incredible place to start in designing jeans.
Hey Vincent, that sounds like The White Stripes, Blue Orchid.
Also, I would like to see a sumi ink fade review, have a great week all, cheers.
hmm i was trying to match Vincent's deow melody with hooks from blue orchid but i couldn't fully match it. maybe it is, tho!
Sumi ink fade review. Also editor Bahzad needs to jump in with more comment/reactions hehe😅
Haha, I'll try to make my presence known a bit more :P

Soooo much to think about here!! Thanks for all the suggestions. also.. I do like the idea of Dogs Playing Poker!!
Love the tatami denim. Would be great to see some more different textures like that
The jack pine by Tom Thompson would be really cool. I’m with Garrett going for a Group of 7 piece of art. Elephant 3 for the review! Be well team This week!
La Promeneuse by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, my favorite painting.
Will some of the newer releases be updated with measurements soon? Been thinking about the Broken Twill and Sky Blue LHT, but the fits I'm interested in don't have measurements posted. Thanks!
Those all have the measurements listed, sometimes it can take a second or 2 for the charts to load, but they are all there on Tate + Yoko.
Sumi Ink for the fade review!
Shout out to Garrett for repping a horsehide bomber from The Real McCoy’s!
I wear a horsehide moto from Trophy Clothing!
Would love to see what kind of denim that could be inspired by the artist Francis Bacon who I think has an edge factor when it comes to paintings.
Very neat, I don't think I've seen any of his works before now.
My favourite painter, very interesting
RIP Akira Toriyama, thanks for representing the DBZ fanbase with your fit Vinny!
It would be great to see a selvedge jacket or jeans that takes inspiration from Edward Hopper’s Nitehawks from 1942. A true masterpiece.
Got to be Elephant 3! At least my vote anyway.
For artist jeans, something cubist by Picasso, as an example, Portrait of Ambroise Vollard, got the French name in too for duel language Canada.
Oh dear, that sounds like fighting talk, duel, I meant dual of course.
Both very good suggestions!
Still have the elephant 3 like new at home in super guy waiting to start it's raw journey some day ^^
Goya on denim would be nuts
A starry night selvedge (something by Van Gogh) maybe with yellow and blue neps or something to that effect! Show us the sumi ink fades!!!

Ecru, but with some pop of colour to mark the bright colours these statues were originally painted with, like colourful neps, sectioned-dyed weft warns, or multi-colour selvedge ID. The Victory could even replace the Tragic Blond on the patch.
Also, the light weight denim fade review would be a good way to get us thinking about the Craftsman Selvedge.
Love the bee seal 🎉
Goyas black paintings series, would be cool to see what you guys come up with
Lightweight selvage for the fade review.
Sumi ink for the win
Salvador Dali melting clock jeans
Drapey fabric with elongated pockets? Possibly an over-dyed indigo because its called "Persistence of Memory" so make it harder to fade. Make it more persistent
I’d like to see how the spring garden fades if possible.
Once we have a faded pair in our possession we'll be sure to show it off.
This feels like a layup but Under the Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai would be a great work of art to design clothing after
Its a Japanese artist and it would be in line with the "ocean theme." I agree this is a fantastic idea.
Is binky-bonk a Canadian thing? The only other person I've heard say it is Will Sasso
I don't know if it's just in Canada.. Kinda feels universal to me. Also, love Will Sasso!
Elephant 3 for fade review. And then the Sumi. 😊
Sumi gets my vote
Lets see Elephant 3.
Also, any heavier (16 to 20oz) Black or Indigo/Black denim coming in the future?
This fall, N&F says they are coming out with a black by black slubby 18oz denim.
cameo from B
Had to make my presence felt :)
MC Escher's on that Frankenstein fabric !!!
Id like to see the Tragic Blonde in the style of "Hand with Reflecting Sphere."
The style could recycle simple black/white undertone, stainless steel, reflective pants, or something new
Elephant 3 for the fade review!
Lightweight selvage fade review!
I agree with everyone saying Starry Night, a mix of natural and golden nep to echo the stars maybe. Also the Great Wave off Kanagawa, with waves of slub and ecru contrast stitching.
I can see both of those making some beautiful options.
Elephant 3! (I am biased cause they’re my pair 😅)
Elephant 3 pleeease!
Sumi - how do I get N&F in the UK?
Check out Stuarts London (www.stuartslondon.com/), or Jeanstore (jeanstore.co.uk/)

Might be off topic, but bring back some King of Lords Jeans.
Okay!
Any larger 15th anniversary likely to replen? I'm checking twice a day praying for a 40 weird guy.
At this point.. I don't think so...
Haha does bahzad actually edit these?
I edit pretty much all the videos!
Sumi Ink for the fade review
You guys should make a Kodak Portra 400 themed jeans.
Now there's an idea...
Goya please
Jim Green Boots ! 🐸🥾
Starry night, as well. Maybe obvious, but if you could interpret the Van Gogh brush strokes AND colours….geeze, that would rule.
Yeah a slubby denim would make that come alive.
Picasso Guernica or Van Gogh Almond Blossoms.
you need to create a jean inpsired by the mona risa
Rockin' Jelly Bean x N&F x Mona Lisa
Editor Bahzad appears. Wonder if he's wearing the Bahzad special? 🤔🤔🤔 most likely
Heck no I'm not wondering that!!
@@NakedandFamousDenim no I'm wondering if you are lol.
Dude in the A2 , great jacket but that belt😞, need a beefy brown belt to compliment it. It’s also too narrow for your belt loops, it’s all in the details.
Roy Lichtenstein art
I think that would be appropriate eh..
If you guys ever find DBZ collab stuff lying around please let us know (me specifically)! RIP Toriyama
Also I think it would be cool to see a denim inspired by The Kiss by Gustav Klimt! Elephant 3 fade review please
