Hassan and Fatemeh live in the village of Chilteh in the province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari.
There are more than seven thousand years of history of animal husbandry in the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari provinces. The Bakhtiari area is where humans domesticated animals and plants for the first time. Also, some animals, especially goats, were tamed for the first time in the mountains of Bakhtiari. Due to meat, milk and hair production, rearing Bakhtiari black goats in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province is considered triple-purpose. Goat milk is sold mainly after converting it to products such as yogurt, cheese, fat, whey, and Qara, and it earns more than three times the price of raw goat’s milk.
Farming goats and sheep is a respectable, professional occupation which Hassan is very skilled at. This is their primary source of income.
Losing that mature goat (2-3yrs old) is a huge financial loss. It is not fictional drama, this is a real tragedy for Hassan, Fatemeh and his parents.

I think that is an unfair comment, yesterday Hassan hurt his leg badly while traveling the ruggard mountain path. He wanted to go and see if the animal was theirs but Fatima insisted on going due to his injured leg. Since moving to the summer pasture he has built a coral to put the animals in, he led the animals along the mountain path, a long and arduous journey. I am always impressed to see him help with the domestic chores, something many men on other channels do not do. Keep being you Hassan, I think you are a great husband and father.

It is unfair to say Hassan is lazy. This culture is very role oriented but I frequently see Hassan helping out with the domestic chores in a way not seen on other channels.
