So many questions/thoughts Did Ziggy pay you the million dollars for the Coca Cola? The trekking poles made it! Did you see a bear? Favorite state? Least favorite state? Favorite season? Favorite type of trail? Would you do the AT again? SOBO? Did you know Ziggy before the AT? Any scary/creepy moments? Would love to know more about your strategy as far as resupplying, where to stay, pace, etc. Did the Mac and cheese and other meals you prepped work out well? Future hiking plans? It’s simply incredible that you not only hiked the entire AT but recorded it, edited it, produced it and posted it for all to see - truly amazing. What do you think made it so you could succeed and see it all the way through? Determination? Support? Planning? Luck? Health? Training? What, if anything, would you do different? Pics/Video of Ziggy making the summit?
Thanks, MoJo, for a great post thru-hike gear review! I hope you're doing well and not feeling too much separation from your trail life. By the way, did you ever mention what your job is and the kind of work you do?
Wow, a fair amount of your gear went the distance with little to no issues! 👍 I was very impressed with your shoe mileage and your trekking pole durability. I always carry extra ziplocks too; invaluable. Flextails are the bomb! I don't think it's a great idea to pump lung moisture/bacteria into inflatables on a regular basis. I don't remember Chili, was this his 1st appearance? Oh, one more pressing question..did your pack squeak go away on it's own or did you find the source? Great gear video Molly. Take care 😊
Hey Molly, enjoying your post hike videos. Just wondering if you are still going to do a video on how you vlogged - my wife bought me a GoPro hero 10 and I've been watching some videos on UA-cam but would really like to see how you did the whole process, even the most simple details could help people who are not very tech..... like me lol. Thank you in advance and did Ziggy finish his hike?
I'm really impressed that so much of your gear held up to such a long thru hike! I definitely will be grabbing some of the gear you did when I do my thru hike. Thank you for updating!
Doesn't particularly have to do with your gear but, how did you keep our husband involved in your adventure? Did he want to be? Did he ever come meet you on trail? Any plans for video regarding his perspective about your adventure?
Well done! Here's a question: How did it go with contact lenses? This is something I always have a little worry about when I hike. I usually just take a chance and don't carry glasses or extra contact lenses and solution. But, good to hear how others handle it and their experience. Did you have to keep the solution in your quilt at night to prevent freezing? Again, thanks for the overview. Nicely done!
Hi Molly, I enjoyed this one more than I was expecting to, but you did a great job! I don't recall hearing what your pack weight was. You have very sensible gear, and it's good to hear about great gear sources. It's always nice to see you, and I love Bandit. Happy trails!
Hi Molly! Brilliant way of organizing all your items, and making it easy for you to quickly reach your stuff along the way. It would be great to see what food items you brought and used, and also bought during your travels, for when you didn't have any stays at hostels. I imagine keeping calories high enough on a big hike can be challenging. How much weight did you lose during your 6 month thru-hike?
Great video, that beautiful white Dog it looks to be a full size Poodle or Doodle. You could have petted it for about 30 seconds people like that, I like that also. This year 2024 a guy did the app trail with a Dog, because it was a service Dog he was allowed in the Smokies, he changed his mind he kept his Dog out of the Smokies. The Dog did everything else, of coarse his Dog was the Star on his Vlogg I watched his videos because of his Dog. Back about 2 years ago a lady hiked with a full size Poodle she said he weighed 90 pounds, She started January or Feburary she had some cold weather, but she said her 90 pound Dog slept with her in the sleeping bag and she never got cold. A 90 pound Dog puts out a lot of heat. I love Dogs.
I’m glad you enjoy them! I’m not sure if I’ll thru hike the AT again. There are a lot of other trails I want to hike first! I could see a section hike of the AT in my near future!
Was there anything you discarded or sent home because you realized you didn't really need it, or was your equipment selection so well informed by prior experience and research that that didn't happen? Also, I hope (and they probably did) Ziggy and Bebo appreciated your sock repair help. 🙂
Thank you for this - truly appreciated it - I’ve made several purchases based on your recommendations and gear. Did you consider a bearvault? If so, any reason you opted for the bag instead? Thanks!
I only saw one tick on me the whole trail and it was just crawling on my shoe. I highly recommend using Permethrin on your clothes and gear to prevent ticks. I would reapply it every 4-6 weeks during tick season when I was on the trail.
Thanks for the review. Very interesting. Happy to hear your equipment provided you comfort, confidence, and safety. Wishing you a mighty fine life. Happy Trails!
I have the lone peaks and feel like the grip is lacking. They replaced my danner 2625 (not 100% on the model) and one day to the next the well worn danners were more grippy on wet rocks. It was a very noticeable difference.
The Lone Peaks definitely take a few days to wear in. I almost fell a few times in NH the first day I wore my new pair. After 2-3 days they were much better!
Molly you were really organized and that is what helped you have a really good hike! Congratulations again! 🥾🏕️
Love to hear how your resupplies went and how your preplanned freeze dried food worked out for you? Any favorite meals?

Hoping you would do this review. Thanks!🙏🙂
Great review Molly. You are so organized! Are you planning to do a Q and A?

Molly! if you put a dab of clear fingernail polish on your eyeglass screws they hold in place much longer! Thank you for the post trail backpack dump!
That’s so smart!! Thanks for the tip!
Oh wait... I'm gonna take notes. Thanks!

Good job on your video as usual, I always enjoy post trail gear reviews.

Yaaassss can’t wait to delve into this one - dying to know your takes on gear
Thanks Mojo. Always like to see what everyone else is carrying. What was your base weight?
AWESOME MOJO 💕🤍👣

Best combination ever!

Great stuff! Did you have to remove any ticks at any point?

What was the base weight of your pack?
Thanks for the review. Very interesting. Happy to hear your equipment provided you comfort, confidence, and safety. Wishing you a mighty fine life. Happy Trails!
