- In this video I will be putting together the bottom end of my Kawasaki S1 550cc four cylinder two stroke engine. Please also watch the four previous videos to see how I made the crankcases, crankshaft and other modifications to convert a Kawasaki S1 250 triple engine into a 550 cc four cylinder engine they are all in the playlist titled Kawasaki S1 550 four cylinder.
In the next video I will showing how I rebored the cylinders fitted new oversize pistons and assembled the top end.
Hope you enjoy the Video
Best regards
Allen Millyard
An Allen Millyard video on Christmas day, just the perfect gift for all of us here that love your content. Thanks Allen, hope you and the missus are having a great one over there in England. Cheers from an Aussie bloke living in f-f-freezing Finland.
🎄🎄🎄🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎍🎍🎍🎍👍🏼👌👍🏼👌👌👍🏼👌👍🏼👌
Ditto that, just what I wanted to say
Aussie in Finland? did you make a wrong turn?
I live in Finland too and would love to visit Australia! 🙂
An Aussie in Finland?! How on earth did you end up there mate 😂
He’s not only ingenius on engineering but also artistic video editing. Natures in his backyard, cakes, and camera angle, cut scenes, etc. big respect.
Allen's Xmas present to us all..........a vid on Xmas morning + fresh coffee. Perfect
“I like using my hacksaw” - understatement of the decade
I wish your "attention to detail" was contagious. The world could use a dose. cheers🇨🇦👍
A true mechanical genius.
Got an “It fits PERFECT” shirt for Christmas from my dad! Indeed, it does fit perrrrrfect.
Brilliant
Video work so good even a view down the pliers bending over the tab, it's the concise description with gifted video work that sets this channel apart, something for novices or seasoned engineers.
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones
Millard is the only man I know that could actively be making eye contact with you and you couldn't be sure.
What more can a man need! An Alan millyard video on a wonderful new engine rebuild mince pie and a nice cup of tea. Lovely jubbly
I unboxed hundreds of these bikes back in the day, Davic Motique in Sawley. Never thought I would be watching super upgrades nearly 50 years later
when I hear the words “I made in the previous video”. I am so happy I watched the previous video to appreciate what has been done before
I have to thank you for the wonderful video clips you put on for us to watch, since loosing my wife to cancer on 2 Dec 2021 I find your clips allow me a moment to help with the grief. For that I thank you.
I will keep pottering around in my little workshop (shed). And pretend to be as clever as you. Regards Terry.
Thanks Terry sorry to here that but glad I’ve helped you a bit
Allen cuts Christmas turkey with hacksaw into “just perfect” slices!
Shush!!! The surgeon is operating.
Wonderful, Alen.
Merry Christmas and greetings from Japan.
Tracy's Christmas cake looks great
Allen had his operating hacksaw out in his last Kwak 4cyl conversion vid....in this one he`s carefully sewing up the patient :)
Woohoo, first reaction to this video made for lovers of technology and bikes!
It's alway nice to hear the calm explanation of an expert on engine modifications.
Really nice to have this on Christmas morning, hope you also enjoyd the cake of your father in law, at least you know from whom your wife has learned!
I love the old bakelite meter!
Perfect Xmas day viewing. Engineering, baking and wildlife. What more could you ask for.👍
More flapjacks . . ? : )
A Christmas treat for all of us who like to get oil under our fingernails!
Many more christmas treats like this please. For those of us with RGV250cc engines a step by step rebuild like this would be very welcome. I have a 15' container full of parts if you need some. Just lack the confidence your videos give to start the work. Keep smiling and keep safe!
This video fitted nicely today and we're all pretty pleased with that. Thanks, Allen, and Merry Christmas everyone!
I know there’s other builders.. that said they are not Allen Millyard and company! The level of filming/lighting, story line, lovable character development and the always present feeling of accomplishment delivered with stoic serenity. The feeling of full and content but, eager to see the next episode. Excited to see the progression of the build while entertained by the antics of the animals and what delicious confectionaries Traci has conjured up to tempt Allen away from his amazing work. So you see, this isn’t just a another UA-cam build. This is family and this is Christmas. Merry Christmas Millyard family😊
There’s something on TV about the Hubble telescope but I’m watching real science! Thanks Allen, Hope you had a great Christmas Day 👍
This is so cool, being able to see the build in HD, even better than seeing the old builds explained in pictures.
Perfect Christmas Day video! Have a great one Allen!
I have been following from the very first video but it has only just struck me how brilliant the camera work and video production are, never mind the engineering!! Fantastic way to start Christmas Day, thanks Allen and the very best to you and the family!!
I was thinking exactly the same thing!
And I love the way he describes Tracy's baking - pretending he hasn't got a clue about it ("which is then smoothed out with like a trowel thing...") - brilliant!
This man is from another world, we mere mortals can just look on in pure amazement, I think there is a magic potion in Tracy’s baking that turns Allen into a engineering genius. Happy Christmas everybody. 🙏
Thanks Allen cant get enough of this and hopefully you never run out of Kawasaki bits!
Top Notch assembly ! I love that you name and adress every part while working... There is imo no better way to learn & remember than this way! Thank you and happy hollyday Greetings from Germany . I love your Videos !
Allens videos cover several areas. Not only do we watch incredible rebuilds and modifications, we also get to see what the local wildlife is up to and what's happening in the kitchen. Love the Avo Meter.
Allen, your videos are absolutely wonderful. Virtuosic workmanship, inspiring, soothing and funny. Plus you have this rare combination of modesty and supreme confidence that only comes from being completely on top of your subject. Thanks for sharing your videos with us.
My compliments to you sir. This is the best documented DIY i've seen for long time.
What can I say... your content is a biker's dream. Hats off.
Funny that Allen seems to be as impressed by the magic in Tracy's cooking, as we all are by Allen's machinist sorcery (debonnaire as it is).
Thanks for the inspiration, and keep on trucking Sir !
One of the best Programmes of any Title on UA-cam, Period.
What a lovely Christmas gift much appreciated allen merry Christmas to all
Just sneaked into the other room to watch this while the Christmas mayhem continues In the front room😂 excellent really made it look simple - I always get nervous with the gearboxes! 👍
Mr Millyard is an artist, passionned and making beauty. And all artists, a little crazy.
"I like using my hacksaw". The greatest quote of 2021!
Thanks yet again for letting us see how you get it right every time, with, as someone else said "stoic serenity" (I wish I'd have said that!!)
Much better than mainstream television at Christmas.
Not an engine man myself, more a polish, paint and chrome guy, but watching your videos is giving me the confidence to look at stripping down and rebuilding my engines. I may start with the 2 stroke first! Great video! 👍
Many thanks Allen, you are massively helping me in my workshop endeavours, the motivation part is often the most useful.
You and Tracy are the best things of yet to watch on machining and baking🎉 You're amazing and she's amazing. I know why you can't stand to not pinch one of her cupcakes😊
Premium content, assembled with such delicacy and professionalism, a wonderful Christmas present. Happy holidays Allen!
I just tune in for Tracy's amazing cooking !!!
I have been looking forward to this. Have a Merry Christmas Allen! 🎄🎅
Alan has the only oval section frame hacksaw in the world that curs straight, the man is a genius.
Allen, you are a living bloody legend…. Another great vid. Just love your UA-cam style, the hack saw, the baking, it just fits perfect. 👌🏻
Thanx Allen
For passing on all your teachings 👍
Experience and Knowledge it’s all Awesome 😎
I hope to enable people to have a go where ever they are and with tools they have 😎
Didn't know it was possible to have 3 lifetimes of experience in 1 lifetime. This man makes everything look easy. Impressive to say the least
What lovely Christmas surprise. Merry Christmas Allen and your family
Allen makes everything so simple he must be one of the most talented engineers around, hope you have a super Christmas
Cheers Allen!
Thanks for your regular and very insightful videos, showcasing your projects, your skill and knowledge, also showing that if you really want to put the effort into something, motorcycles in this instance, you can do quite a lot yourself! This isn't just mechanical work, it's art!
Looks like another day of watching mr Millard chief engineer and Charlie having a few drinks 👍👍👍👍👍
I absolutely love these videos, so therapeutic, or is it good just watching a genius at work?
Fantastic. For him it's so easy to create and assemble the parts.
Most fascinating is cutting an engine by hand with that precision.
Thanks for the Christmas gift. A world class engine builder and a world class baker!
What a wonderful gift. The gift of Allen.
Merry Christmas Allen to you and your family and all the die hard fans on here, there should be a TV show because alot of people are missing out on your work and projects!
Just watched this video after the family have gone....perfect end to a Christmas Day . Thank you for your lovely Christmas present Allen. Looking forward to the head rebuild.
"I like using my hacksaw" and 180K subscribers nod knowingly..... Merry Christmas!
Perfect watching for an otherwise dull and dreary day here in Lincolnshire. Thanks for posting.
It's like your telling me a bed time story... Really enjoyable😴 great work keep it up Allen 👍
A Millyard video is a superb bonus Crimbo present, thanks a lot Alan..
Lovely video. Looks so easy when you do it. Looking forward to next video!
Merry Christmas to you & yours Alan..! Loved watching your content this year... A true British engineering eccentric... A quietly confident, knowledgable & creative problem solver. I myself am not particularly interested in motor bikes, but I find your eclectic content delightful... The kitchen make over is looking great, the bird table & patio are bustling with British wildlife and the thumb seems to be healing nicely... All hail the hacksaw!
Awesome buddy ...merry Xmas ...can't wait to hear the thing fired up and crackling away
I wait for your videos every day Allen. I've built lots of XT500 motors and raced my SR500. Your skills are just out of this world. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Great Boxing day viewing, better than anything on TV. All the best Allen. 👍🥳🍻
It's very therapeutic watching you work and mind bending that you do it all from home.
Tracy is the engineer in the kitchen, working with great skill too.
Thank you for showing us all. As always it was a pleasure to watch.👍
Merry Christmas to you both.
John.
Gosh the AVO. Brings back so many happy memories. What an engineering feast of riches you have given us on Christmas Day, not to mention food too!. Thank you for sharing your skills with us in such an informative and engaging way.
Brilliant. No open workshop manual to be seen, so assume you know the procedure by heart. Lord Millyard has a nice ring to it. 😊
I know where all the bits go
A lot of nostalgia for me in this excellent video. The AVO multimeter that I used a lot early in my working life. The Christmas cake, one of which I haven’t had since relocating from Coventry to the USA 30+ years ago. The memory of building a Kawasaki Z1B motor on my bedroom floor, getting the bottom end completed only to see the new cam chain (driven from the centre of the crankshaft), still in its packaging.
I get all my baking recipes from these brilliant videos! Keep up the great work!
Now every Christmas when I am all pumped up full of Christmas excitement I'll have one more treat. A new excellent video from Allen Millyard. Woo Hoo
Merry Christmas to you and your family Allen
Another fascinating episode, and the tea is the right colour . 👍🇬🇧
Superb Allen, massive thanks for putting this amazing content together; your skill, filming and Traci’s baking are just perfect.
You need your own TV programme to inspire the next generation! Happy Christmas to you!
A great Christmas gift for us fans!!
Thanks Allen!!👍👍👍
All I want for Christmas is an Allen Millyard video - Oh thankyou Santa! Happy Christmas Allen and all the best for the NewYear
Happy crimbo everyone, thank you for the vid Allen. 🥳🥳
Hi Alan you just made my Christmas, thanks for that best wishes to you from NZ.😉
Merry Christmas, Mr. Millyard to you and your family. Thank you for sharing your mechanical gifts with us and showing the power of a well wielded hacksaw🌲😃😃🌲
Christmas songs on radio one while playing Allens video, couldn't be better!
It's not often we mere mortals get to interact with a living legend! Christmas greetings to Allen, his family and all viewers. Keep safe.
I literally just bolted into the kitchen to make that oatmeal thing Tracy was doing, minus the mincemeat. We don’t really know anything about mincemeat in America but it’s really good with vanilla ice cream. Tell her I said thank you! ❤️
Great vid Allen. Im glad you decided to film this build.
Thanks I’m going to film the build of the whole bike
All without the assistance of a Haynes manual ....
Must be great to know what's what without having to consult a book every 5 minutes ... Sign of a true engineering genius 👌🔧
Very therapeutic to watch and a few nice smiles too. Thanks and merry Christmas. ☺
You should be really pleaced with everything you do Allen👍 your work is amazing, and i love your videos with some birds and baking in there too.
even its not fully assembled ..its already a masterpiece
Merry Christmas to you and your family Allen, and thanks for all your great video`s
A perfect Christmas treat, enjoying one of Allen's videos with a nice cuppa. Merry Christmas Allen & family.

Nice present for a Christmas morning.. Best wishes to the Millyard family
Unmissable Christmas viewing. Engines and Christmas Culinary Comestibles. My festive season is complete!
Christmas just gets better, a video from Allen as well.
