I studied mechanical engineering craft studies in the 1970's very interesting so thank you for posting this video.
As an industrial engineer, the breadth of these videos is really great. Imagine if one of these technologies will help me solve a problem in the future but I might never have been exposed to it in my previous experience. I might never be able to fix the problem!

why didn't the worker @3:52 burn to ashes, isn't he in direct contact with enough high electric voltage and current source?
Because the electricity passes from one node to another between the spot weld. This is the fastest route for the electricity to ground itself and so it doesn't need to go near him
