Thank you for the review - very interesting observations! I don't have this Pro variant, but I do not like the screwed-in cold shoe mount too, as I find it flimsy and prone for unscrewing; it is however present in many Ulanzi LED lights. I think a fixed cold shoe with a 1/4" thread, as in the older variant, would be much more convenient. And I prefer additional cold shoe mounting points, as in the VL 49 RGB, rather than magnets all around the body.
Sorry but simple/silly questions - does it run "half or whole day with USB-C power"? Reviews/specs mention it can last 90+ minutes on built-in battery - but can it run for hours (constantly connected to USB-C power)?
Hola, saludos, excelente video, una pregunta entre este modelo Ulanzi VL49 Pro y el Modelo Ulanzi U60 cual es mejor? gracias por su respuesta, bendiciones.
First big compliment - when is earch for reviews i dont want 10x videos telling me the same. this is how a review you should be. small details and information that other dont describe. SUBSCRIBED! Some Questions: 1. Can you say if the VL49 and VL49PRO remember their previous settings? I heard that the VL49PRO - when switching between the white mode and the color mode - remembers both settings (intensity and temp/colorvalues) is this true also for the VL49? Do both light remember their settings when switched off and on again? Do both have the capability to run while charging (some kind of passthrough) so taht i can just connect them to a power source and dont need to worry about running out of juice? or do they only work when the cable is not charging? In short can it work like a cabled solution. These are very important issues for me to know. 2. Any chance you ever tried the VL61? Its not available on the Ulanzi Website anymore but seemed to be a inbetween both VL49 and VL49Pro. Curious if this one still is able to work scenes with a set intensity (so not allways 100% like u described for the Pro)
Oh dude thanks man!! One my few english videos, its that good? Appreciate it! 1. Yeah they do remember settings (thank god). So you can cycle through them, switch off, and it will remember its last setting. For both the pro and non pro. You can use them while charging but it does heat up, so i cant say its a pass through, but more like trickle charging the battery. 2. Unfortunately haven’t tried the vl61 as ulanzi told me that one is supposed to be inferior to vl49, so I didn’t actually bother to ask a sample from them 😅
they should have added a dial at the back instead of the buttons. its sooooo slow to change brightness. dont even get me started at changing rgb. old model is a lot more user friendly.
Older production VL49 RGBs do not have the preset light effects, just two continuous modes - white light with adjustable colour temperature and colour light. Current production VL49 RGB do have the lighting effects, they were added in 2021 or so.
@@Chemnitzer yup, only 13 modes, I already bought it. Another option is Costa VL-64 which is around the same price but has great build quality and 20 modes light which I also bought already 😆
great review! almost bought the pro but will get the older one now. cheers from bkk!
thanks man! there was a comment saying they fixed the stuff i complained about, maybe check out the new batch from a nearby shop first
Are you satisfied with it?
Same, thanks!

Silicon cover is changed now - even and has holes for the mount, usbc, and on/off switch. I just got one, so must be a design fix.
Nice! I'm glad they did!

the real model name is LT001, there are also bigger model LT002 and LT003. But for some reason Ulanzi decided to name this VL49 Pro ???

Omg same I hate the silicon diffuser I hate how slow the brightness changes. Crazy this video popped up😂
😂😂 ikr! Ulanzi has been making great stuff but this is definitely a miss imo
@@HanETG true I use the ulanzi super clamp and phone holder. Great stuff but this was a miss

Yes I agree!
weight comparison?
The older version does not have preset light?
Actually it does
