I really like that Angel is honest about not liking the fish even if it is crazy expensive.
Kinda hard to fake liking something when you genuinely don't like it. Especially when its something as visceral as tast.
I really hate how he can't even appreciate the fish that in front of him, If I was presented with the world's best option of the food that I hated, I would still be more excited to try it than Angel.

As a fan of the japanese cuisine, this video is very enjoyable for me.
At 09:50 I laughed so hard with Guga's reaction when Angel managed to swallow the nigiri. For a moment he was not a Brazilian-American; he became a true japanese culinary master being proud of his young apprentice making the first step towards learning to appreciate new tastes.
Also let us all take a moment to appreciate how a sushi master prepares sushi.
I think he is just Brazilian, having been born in Brazil.
The commentary every time; it’s so rich, and tender, and the rich and tender commentary really gets the juices flowing. That commentary is really just amazing, I love the flavor
Appreciate that Angel tried it anyway and was able to contribute to the video to hopefully inspire other fish haters to try other types of dishes with fish.

Guga is my inspiration! From a back yard UA-cam chef to being sought out by some of the biggest chefs and UA-camrs from around the world! GOALS
You should try to find Korean Hanwoo Beef grade 1++ where they let the cows guzzle beer. It is better than wagyu or Kobe beef in that it has the perfect fat to meat ratio marbling without it being too overly oily but with a stronger beef flavor than its Japanese counterparts. It's also super rare to find outside of Korea.

I could tell it was someone else because no amateur can recreate that level of precision without years of practice.
Angel probably likes the raw tuna because when you cook it, the "seafood" taste comes out. Raw makes it so much more enjoyable.

I found your videos a few days ago and I've absolutely fell in love with them. You should experiment just like when you boiled the chicken in soy sauce, experiment with Chashu seasoning/sauce and see if that tastes just as good as it does with pork belly but on a steak.

There’s a reason Blue Fin Tuna is so expensive. They’re endangered, or at least last they were last time I checked.
I recall hearing that after they were listed as endangered the prices soared which of course worsened the issue as more people took to fishing for them for a massive payday.

Hehe, I know how Angel feels. I've always had a problem with white fish (very different to tuna I know) because the flavour makes me nauseous. Salmon is the only fish I really like. Tuna always seems kind of dry but I'm betting that a5 version doesn't have that problem. Once again I'm dying to eat what they are, yet my waist is glad I can't.

I have been watching guga for a long time and love seeing how far he has come. I still enjoy watching the videos. I wish I could get the chance to one day taste a guga steak it just looks so delicious. I know he used to be in Miami but from the video I don't know if he still lives in the south florida region. I live in what I call the mid west of florida (near Tampa) but hey keep doing what you are doing love the channel.

Most expensive does not mean most delicious. I hope you try Korean Hanwoo 한우 someday. I guarantee you it's better than kobe beef cuz kobe is too fatty. Hanwoo is also marbled like crazy but tastes so much better!

@@longemen3000 yeah not easy to get ur hands on it. but I'm sure Guga can. or if he takes a trip here and eats fresh Hanwoo the way we prepare it. I'm sure they'll prefer it over wagyy. most people say wagyu is best cuz it's popular these days, but Hanwoo is better 😉 kobe is too fatty, u can't eat even 200g without feeling sick. Hanwoo meat flavour is exceptional and the marbling is perfect, not too much fat.

As an Aussie, I can vouch for that. Aldi here sells Aussie grown steaks of various grades from farm producers they partner with, & I can attest they are as good as anything out there, & the price is pretty reasonable! Even the budget cuts cook up nicely!

One tip on sushi. Put it in your mouth meat side down. That greatly increases the flavor punch from the meat. That is what you bought it for mainly anyway. Also this was finally a high end product that I have eaten in the past. Many years ago I have had blue fin toro. I have not got any yet, but I just found a sushi restaurant that offers it in my area. Probably later this week.
When I could eat fish (I developed a VIOLENT fish allergy late in life pretty much out of nowhere) I had the opportunity to try Toro sashimi on a cruise. Hands down the best fish I have EVER had. It was unreal. The texture and flavor were unlike any other fish I had ever eaten. If you have the chance, TAKE IT. IT'S SO GOOD.

And I went back there a second time, just because I thought - maybe - I was just in a good mood, whatever. But, wow... Same feeling the second time. Just... Can't explain.

@@bdavis7801 Sadly, no. It was run by a guy who really loved his work. He gave us origami birds after, and it wasn't something you could see from any main road. We, actually, got ushered in the first time. They had a sign out, and people going down to pull customers in. Honestly - anywhere in Tsukiji market is, probably, amazing sushi. Just something you'll never forget, but if you do find that place and he's still there... Wow... And, it's not a big, fancy restaurant. Just kind of small...

Can we just appreciate the effort of Angel putting the most expensive fish in the world on his moth. That was heroic.. jokes aside fish is awesome and if you see someone disliking the most expensive one, its kind of unfair.
Man, the fact that Angel can't really handle Otoro makes me think he needs to broaden his food horizons somewhat.
Fish? Guessing another word for fish. Flavor vary wildly and certain fish are more fishy in smell/taste.
he just needs to get drunk and go to a good all you can eat sushi. it's the childhood mentality that raw fish is gross, once you get past that mental hurdle, eating fresh unlimited raw fish makes you feel like an alpha polar bear living his best life.
@@shekeib its just trying different methods til you get used imo, he liked it when it wasn't really fishy with the marinate there, i started eating sushy by drowning it in soy sauce, now i just touch it a little because i started liking it
he seems like a boy stuck in his teens with the YEAH MAN EAT MEAT I DONT LIKE GREENS mentallity (same kind of guys that made Epic Meal Time famous back in the day) and just cant grow out of it. Thats why I like Maumau much better as a guest.

Expensive don't automatically mean delicious. Everyone has specific taste preferences. I hate sea urchin; way too seafood-y/game-y

GUGA I truly appreciate the fact that you cook meats the same way when trying to see what taste better. Your friend DeerMeatForDinner cooked a Main lobster, spiny lobster, and I think a rock lobster differently despite saying that he wanted to see which ones tasted the best.
I’d love to see him cook Blonde d’Acquitaine aka Cote de Boeuf. Also said to be the rarest and most expensive beef.
