Libera Forever - Introducing our new album

- ‘Forever’ is the first album recording without Libera’s founder, Robert Prizeman, at the helm. The Libera sound was conceived by Robert and was first truly realised in recorded form in 1999. Since then, the sound and repertoire have evolved as the group has gained popularity with audiences across the globe. In the early days the music was mainly based on Robert’s compositions, taking influence from ancient plainchant and the great choral repertoire, as well as contemporary production and instrumentation. The boys’ voices, however, have always been front and centre.
Where to start with this record then? Robert left a couple of unfinished pieces, which provided the starting point for this album. Other tracks look back at Libera’s past, some are covers with a Libera spin, but, most excitingly, some are new compositions by members of the Libera family who grew up singing for and making music with Robert.
The team working on this record is testament to the strength of Robert's rich musical legacy. However, his legacy is more than just the music he gave us; Libera is a family, which is managed and guided by a small team of generous volunteers. Without them, along with the support of families, schools, churches, and friends, we would not be able to sustain Robert’s vision to bring this unique music to listeners around the world, whilst providing the singers with the very best musical training and experiences.
It is the work of all these people, but even more so, the commitment, musicianship and good nature of the singers that gives us great hope that the future of Libera is in safe hands.

I used to love Libera music many moons ago, thought of them today and found this new album. So sorry to hear about Robert’s passing but so pleased to see that Libera is still making amazing music and a lot of the ex singers and now writing and producing the music

Oh my goodness! What a throwback, and it's incredible and so poignant that former Libera members are the ones moving Libera forward. I look forward to seeing what new direction Sam takes Prizeman's original vision and how the group will evolve. I started listening to Libera in highschool (I'm a few years younger than Ben Crawley), and it's crazy seeing everything come full circle. Many of the mini-boys weren't even alive when Josh aged out. I'm sure the new songs will be in regular rotation on my Spotify playlist for a whiiiiile. :)
Looking forward to the new/latest album, I’ve been listening to Libera, since I was in my late twenties. Now in my early thirties, their phenomenal enchanting, heavenly, mystical even sounds. Take me far off when needed, and has certainly been my go to, as I’m currently grieving, if not mourning my beloved adopted mom amongst several other lost/passed on loved ones including my beloved biological dad. 🕊️🥺🤍 Their music also is at times as a spiritual-somewhat Catholic the closest I feel to the heavens if not the Lord/a world beyond this current one.❤️🩹🙏🏾🕊️ May Sir Robert Prizeman continue to rest easily always…🕊️🙏🏾🕊️

We will be looking forward to the release of this video! Despite the fact that the names of all 13 tracks are quite well known to us, as well as the names of the soloists of each of the songs, it will be nice and interesting to hear what young performers have to say about their songs. Finally, with particular interest we will study all the information regarding the videos filmed for the "Forever" DVD compilation.

@@DanielKim5732 The "Forever" compilation is still classified as a CD. But there were shootings to create a video version of one of the songs. It may have been the video for the song "The Lighthouse". So, as was the case with the "Beyond" compilation, the videos will be released separately in DVD format.

I'm looking forward to Far Away. It's going to be such a full circle and I was hoping the song would make a comeback someday. For a while it became one of Libera's signature songs, kind of like Sanctus and Libera (the song).

For me, expectations with the release of "Forever" are, first of all, connected with the song "Sing for Ever". I can’t call myself a long-time fan of the choir (there are many people who recognized the songs of the best boys’ choir in the world much earlier than me), but I can still say that “Sing for Ever” also went through such a life circle with me: my first acquaintance with this song miraculously took place in 1990. I don't know for sure where the owner of the vinyl record got it, but it was the same record from 1987 with a picture of barefoot boys in white robes and the inscription "St. Philips Choir. Sing For Ever". Yes, a year after the release of the vinil, an album of the same name appeared in CD format, and then several times the song was performed by other choristers - but that, the first performance, I remember most of all. And now I have a "new acquaintance" "with a well-known and beloved song"!

Мне за шестьдесят и я, признаюсь, не поклонник Либера. Но я сам в детстве занимался музыкой и знаю, как ребенок проникается ею. Чаще он хочет понравиться не имея больших музыкальных способностей. В детских хоровых коллективах, особенно в том юном возрасте участников, где голоса тех же мальчиков-подростков звучат ангельски, особенно чувствуется какая огромная работа была проведена взрослыми, чтобы найти эти бриллианты и огранить их. Мне сдается, что Либера один из таких замечательных музыкальных коллективов.
В этом альбоме уже есть просто шокирующая находка - Фредди Мушрафи и его исполнение Ave Verum - Albinoni (Adagio in G minor). Он не просто юный гениальный исполнитель, у него потрясающая харизма и интуитивная глубина проникновения в замысел музыкального произведения, свойственная таким одаренным детям. Я желаю коллективу успехов, альбому долгую жизнь, а детям счастливого детства и благополучия после завершения этого периода в их жизни. Но особенно хочется пожелать удачи Фредди. Не знаю почему, но мне кажется, что его ждет великолепное будущее великого музыканта.

It's great that you've effectively dedicated this new album to Robert's memory. I empathise with your mild moans about the drudgery of making recordings. Eons ago, when I was a chorister making records with the Abbey choir, it was even more irksome as they were mastered on tape and there was no such thing as digital editing. 😅🎼🎶

It all sounds really amazing and I'm already enjoying the tracks which have been released. It's also really nice to see Josh again! I've been a fan of Libera since the very beginning, so definitely remember him being one of the singers many years ago. It's great he's still having some sort of role with Libera.
I still wish they come to Denver one day I been with libera since 2015 hopefully they do a tour in Denver Colorado one day 🙂
This was a great video. So good to see a lot of the behind the scenes and hear some of the boy's stories.

Thanks for the introduction and thank you boys of libera for showing the adventures in Korea and thank you Oscar and Victor for giving the information Oscar gave the information about the album and Victor told that he sings lower parts nowadays because he is in bass and his voice is a bit like a senior your voice was just like tadhg in the second introduction of the album if and now in the third introduction of the album forever Victors voice was the same voice in the Christmas message 2022 his voice was a little bit senior from his throught thanks for the introduction boys I am coming to meet you when you get back to London in Saturday 11th November 2023 thank you so much for the introduction I will listen to the 13 songs of the album forever which is releasing on 23rd June 2023 Friday now it is coming shortly thank you boys
