The trek to Drakey Pangtsho at 4300 meters begins at Bjana Goenpa. Use a sturdy off-road vehicle due to tough road conditions. Rainy season worsens roads. Goenpa is 1hour drive from Drukgyel Dzong.
Hike from Goenpa to the lake is 6km, 6-7 hours for slow hikers, 4 hours for seasoned ones. Return takes 3-4 hours via steep rocky slopes to Goenpa.
So much to offer, the hike can never go in waste as long as you take care of your own waste.
In terms of floral, it offers the most amazing varieties of flowers, including our national flower, Blue Poppy, Micronopsis Gakeydena, yellow poppy, the iconic Rheum Nobile, All kinds of Rodhos, Edilwise, Snowball, wholly thistle, you name it.
