I designed a compost heater, now I have to build it.

I'm building a quick and dirty prototype to test it out and see if there need to be improvements. I'm using old old and twinkle polycarbonate that has been laying around, the only thing I paid for was the recycled plastic insulation.

Very cool, I have a similar set up to experiment with. My first version was no good in that I had the bottom of the bin too narrow, from 4 foot wide at the top to 1 foot at the bottom. Compost was just getting stuck and not falling out the bottom like I was hoping it would. Next time I will try a much wider bottom like you have.

I would be interested to know how much heat you can generate. At the risk of teaching my granny,...... need a heat exchanger, measure the flow rate, the temp of the fluid in, temp of the fluid out and graph it over a period.
