- Multiple layers of color and stencils ASMR (soft spoken male voice)
In this demo I lay down several layers of colors on the gelli plate and apply stencils on each pass. The result is a retro-modern print reminiscent of the work of Stuart Davis and Robert Blackburn.

Very nice.....I see what you have discovered about letters and shapes in relation to compositional space...very nice! No one else has ever seen that in Mr. Davis' artwork! He is my favorite artist, and as you demonstrate, there are many things to discover about his possible influences!
Thanks so much for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Stuart Davis was so ahead of his time, and his work is just as bold, fresh and inspiring today. Have a happy and safe holiday season!
I love these~you are the first teacher of gel printing I've discovered who is so precise. I never knew you could leave the paper on for so long. Your plate looks so clean compared to mine. I'm learning a lot from watching you.
You've made that one sing, a complex and successful print.
Adding that rather dark heavy layer at the end looked a bit risky but you got the payoff. 😊
Such a fabulous print, the last colour combination is luscious.
You are master of your process. Thank you for sharing your gift with us!
Thank you for you very kind words! I think of myself more as an old dog learning new tricks!
One word ....BRILLIANT......hugs from Scotland 🤗🙂
So retro and beautiful! Thanks!
That was stunning. I would certainly hang it on my wall
Nicely done! And super restful- thanks for the great work :)
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed this. More to come!
Love your work so happy to find you!
The feeling is mutual. So glad you found my channel and thanks for watching!
Bravo, very nice creation!
I love this one!!
Absolutely wonderful print!! So inspiring. Please keep the geli print tutorials coming. I have just invested in the new 16 x 20 inch plate which I will soon put to use along your guidelines. Thankyou so much!!
This is just amazing!! Did you imagine the layers/colors ahead or did this develop gradually? Bold decisions and really stunning finished piece. One of your best, IMHO.
Thanks so much! I try no to overplan because I am notorious for changing my mind in the middle of working! I'm just as surprised as anyone with the outcomes.
Stunning
That is magnificent! You are truly inspiring me and thanks for that!🤩 I got my gelli plate last summer but only a couple of weeks ago started experimenting with it.
This was wonderful! I love the colors you selected. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent.
Thank you so much! More gelli plate projects to come, please stay tuned and thanks for watching!
BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you! Cheers!
ooooh thank's thank's thank's !
Really really cool! 💙
I would love to see the ghost prints as well, i can only imagine how unique they would be:)
Fun Fact, the better the initial print, the less of a ghost there will be. There was almost no trace left after the first print, so I just cleaned the plate after.
Love it!
So glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for watching!
Sooooo…unexpected. Isn’t that exciting, dear one?
Could I use this technique on fabric? Would like to freshen up my wardrobe for spring! Thank you. What kind of paper are you using?
ua-cam.com/video/O7onkGDK4cA/v-deo.html I use Somerset English paper or Stonehenge printmaking paper. I also use Blick heavyweight watercolor paper which is a lot cheaper but good.
Ho, can you tell me the color green you used? The Golden Brand color? Also, how do you clean your plates? There are so many ideas about cleaning plates.

dishwashing liquid diluted does fine as long as you rinse well. Overcleaning strips the protective oils. I love the green gold fluid acrylics of Golden paints, also chromium green oxide. Hope this helps.
I can't find a gel plate larger than 12" x 12" ... can I buy one or do I need to make it? Thanks for the process demonstration.
How about Blick art supplies? 12" x 14" and 16" x 20" still in stock. www.dickblick.com/products/gelli-arts-gel-printing-plates/?fromSearch=%2Fsearch%2F%3Fq%3Dgelli%2520plate

If I had a predisposition for jealousy, I would be stuck on that hook.
Curious, what size plate are you using and where did you get it?
you can look up gelliarts.com for specs, I got my smaller ones ( 8" x 10") from Amazon. The largest size, 16" x 20" I got from dickblick.com www.dickblick.com/products/gelli-arts-gel-printing-plates/
BTW MURPHY'S OIL SOAP will soften dried acrylics from your brayers. I submerge them in Murphy's overnight and the paint is softened and removable.
@@marykazak2109 Thanks so much for the tip! Every little bit helps to making art easier.
Can I buy this one?
You sure can. For business inquiries email me at fulton@fultonartdesign.com
