- Special Bonus! Extra value! You get TWO today - this one could not be allowed to stay on the shelf, it is too good. Massey-Ferguson 35X on scraping duties on a local dairy farm. 1964 at the latest, is my guess. That makes it 47 years old - and I used to drive these in my youth!

I wouldn't be surprised if that tractor is still running and doing the same job, today! great video - thanks
You bet!
The one I used to call "mine" in 1960 was new, then. Three cylinder Perkins engine and terrific starting!
They are great - and so easy!
i have one old 35...1964 year,great engine
love the seat, I think we had the same hay seat also
Nice one tidy little tractors those 35's, my dad use to have a T.V.O version use to go like a rocket..
They all are! Mine (45 years ago) was an old West of England wheat bag, the 2 cwt sort!

Thanks Steve. I just fell for this wee beastie - they are so incredibly useful for their size!

Yes - a great thrill for me to see these oldies working.
This brings back a good few memories Alan!! Starting it from the side before grabbing a handful of straw, or hessian sacks to sit on!! We didn't have a 35x, but bought a brand new IMT 539 ( Yugoslavian 35x copy) in 1982, for yard duties, and more. Worked hard for many years!!
Thanks Phil. Did you find the IMT any different from a 35?
No, it was exactly the same, only with modern road lights and a roll bar.
cool video alan, your channel is awesome !! cheers !!!!!
Thanks Antreas. You are very kind.
:)
haha! my grandad worked for Lever's feeds so there were a few levers bags on the TE20s and MF130

I used to love the sound of my 135 because it sounded so eager! That's the effect of the three cylinders, I suppose? The seats, well, I think my one was about 1960 - brand new when it was allocated me.
That 4-banger Perkins sounds so good.

I remember working one of these with a 40" Lundell forage harvester. Second low, flat out - all day! THAT'S working!
To phill903
Thanks Phil. Nice to see them still turning in an honest bit of work.
starts brilliantly any way
i drive the old 35 at work love working on a farm (DEVON)
To AlzPembz
Interesting. I didn't know there was a TVO version. I wonder if there are any left?
ours were 150 and 165 diesel MF's, yes great tractors
@balmesh thats for sure! and no air con to cool ya down!!
Nice - is it a restoration job or up and running?
Pi get to drive one of these once a week except it's a 135 and I am only 11 the guy who owns them is like 52 and he used to drive some different versions when he was young so he knows all about them lol
The old reliable. And in good condition too!
To MF35master
I cannot remember anything about the seat on the one I drove, except you removed the cushion or upended it, to keep it dry!
No air seat on that beast!! Straw me up!
How do you suggest I do that? It's not mine and does the same thing every day. Give me one that varied the routine and was under my control, and you'd be happy!
very nice tractor my uncle already have one
also have one*
Thank you. I used to have a 135 - very reliable.
+balmesh
i have one also
we have a 35 x industrial with the original loader , cultivator and plow
Very nice - my son has a 35X but sold the loader as it was not original.
I think the older ones are so much better because they are so much easier to drive and use than the new ones with all their tech stuff but in saying that I have never driven a new one before but I have sat in one.
They are also easier to fix, I learnt a lot of things by rebuilding a 4 cylinder 35 :)
its not just the big ones doin all the work...
To JonnyTM140
On that job a quiet cab would have been very welcome! But the "mac" made a useful addition to the padding on the seat.
Its perfect as a scraper tractor though
Cool Tractor, with cool Sound. I want to say: you are the best UA-cam-Channel (i'am so happy when a new Video from you is uploadedand), it was a very good idea to suscribe beacuse all your videos are great, you answer to all my Comments and Look at the channels of your suscribers, not so many People or UA-camr do that RESPECKT!!! the biggest like from me to you. I wish you many more suscribers in the Future, when they see your Videos and how good they are "they have to suscribe". I hope i have made a smile in your Face when you read that.
Thank you. I make a point of watching and commenting on the people who watch and comment on mine! Fair? Very few who I subscribe to ever comnent, so I presume they are not watching, and therefore I don't watch theirs.
balmesh
nice, she is going well, funny wheel centers on her, never saw the likes of them before, you dont know what was the idea in them?
To MrCa107
There were MEN in those days!
Which do you think is better a Ferguson TE20 or a MF 35?I have a TED20 but I still think the MF 35 is better.
+Thecupcakerat 1 The TE20 was more popular than the 35 but the TE20's transmission was not very good so personally i think the MF 35 is better.
The TE20 was a revolutionar tractor as Ferguson invented the three point linkage system now common on almost every tractor. I do prefer the 35 though - it has a better gearbox and generally feels much nicer to drive. We have three but only one works so far!
revolutionary*
I've a ferguson 20 the downfalls are no dual clutch not the Easiest to start gearbox is good for ploughing but not good for bringing a trailer of turf 3rd gear to 4 gear is too much of a jump. But once you get rolling it's very fast mine will do nearly 40 k
Thecupcakerat
yeh been there the massy i used had no brakes and the front bearings were shot
Usual story!
yeh was a fun job lol
Hamish Ferguson mutian
Nice old MF 35
Do more videos on the 35

To MF35master
Must have lost the official cushion (or it became life-expired)! At least he had dry straw!
I like
Thank you very much.
nice👍👌💪
Thanks Ashish.
To leonoltus
Perfectly normal - the tractor pushes all the slurry into a pit. Don't know anyone doing it differently.
To aaron7610man
No, I didn't even notice, myself.
0:34 his seat is different to mine!!
that is because there's is the X model
why would 43 people dislike this ?
+Kevin Osborne
Probably because 270,000 people watched it#1
i do not know the year i think it is 1965 it is the 35 not the 35x are mf 230 is drake down so i have to drive it to Scrap up:)
