Add Knox standpipe lock key. Don’t leave home without it. One one rig for FDC’s, one in the standpipe kit. A little reflective tape isn’t a bad idea.

Question, what is the benefit of adding in the gate valve ?

Simply put, easier control over the system's valve. The system's valve can have malfunctions, when being used for emergency operations. Where the FD gate valve is inspected atleast weekly, to prevent and/or catch any possible malfunctions. Where any faults of the FD gate valve would be caught before an event, in comparison to where the system's valve might not of been opened or operated for years. With the lack of being operated or exercised, the system's valve might produce a catastrophic failure during an emergent event. Causing more catastrophic damages and losses down the hoseline into the danger zone. Example would be the system's valve fails to close, water damages cause by the opened valve, that can provide 200 GPM (+/-), could easily cause some serious water damage to any building. Plus unable to remove the hoselines would be another issue to the same problem.
