  • See how we made our haunted house in the front yard for our Halloween Home Haunt. Get some inspiration for decoration ideas and see how much work goes into these crazy yard displays for Halloween. The video shows you in time lapse form just how much work goes into the construction of a large Hollywood Haunter facade for the front yard of our small home. In this video we share the entire dismantle and tear down of our haunted mansion. It took the two of us just under 50 days to design, shop for materials, build, paint, and set up. Set up took about a week and tear down lasted three to four partial days. The traditional Haunted House facade was main part of this years theme "The Great Pumpkin Dare" The yard display was featured on "The Great Halloween Fright Fight" hosted by ABC network. We had 50 days total to design, create, shop, build and decorate. We combined many elements from some of our favorite haunted houses from movies and pictures we cam across. This was one of our most successful Halloween seasons yet with 2,000 trick or treaters. We also held a can food drive for a local charity which produced 40 bags of canned food. Every year we hope to inspire other people to decorate and even maybe become home haunters.

    Wow...all that work in less than 4 minutes. Now your house looks like ours again. It is like you guys have a magic cave in your back yard to store all of this in. It is sad to see it go away but makes me excited to see what you two creative geniuses will come up with for next year.

      Oh man I wish we had a magic cave!! I would build more facades and never part with them. Then buy a bunch of land and set them all up and have one huge haunt :)

    Hello from Arizona! You guys are such an inspiration! I didn't even realize you were going to be on tv until I saw you, and I was like "Hey, I know them!". It was sad to see it come down, but I'm excited to see what you do next year.

    I just started watching your videos prior of October and even though, the Mrs's and I don't come close to your level of decoration. Your videos are so inspiring and awesome to see the final product. Thanks for sharing with us. Enjoy your holidays.

    I'm exhausted just watching you take everything down. Is it me or was Day 2's progress a little slower than Day 1's? Seemed virtually all the facade came down "quickly" on the first day, then the porch and backdrop took longer to remove. You guys must've been tired.

    • @HollywoodHaunter
      @HollywoodHaunter  9 років тому

      Yeah you're right. I think because there was more "set" on the bottom level (railings, posts, porch roof, and corbels) rather than just walls, we had to unscrew a lot more individual pieces. Thanks for your support this season!!!

      Thank you! We sold it a few years ago to a commercial haunt over on the east side of the country. We need to build some new awesome stuff for our haunt now that our son is getting older. Thanks for watching 👍

    It is kind of sad when you have to take the display down. Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. It was a great build and thanks again for sharing it with us. :)

      Hi Cathy!!! It wasn't too bad taking it down. It was a little scary when Chris was super high taking the roof down but after that it was just one piece at a time :)

    Super cool. Yet I don’t understand how you have the time, willingness and resources to create this amazing haunted house facade, yet don’t make the effort to put in a front yard with grass.

    • @HollywoodHaunter

      That is a very good question. This was in 2014 and CA was under very strict water usage. While the lawn died in the summer it would come back every rainy season.

    hey guys if I make the aging formula you guys use how many 4x8 panels does a gallon cover?

    • @HollywoodHaunter
      @HollywoodHaunter  9 років тому

      Sorry for the delay, depending on how dry the wood is you may get close to 3 full panels. I have never aged a 4'x8' so I'm not 100% certain. Hopefully it does more :)
