You can do that with the help of boosters in the game itself.
Boosters are used mostly for premium ships because that's how you get the most benefit.
Boosters are blue, green and red in color. They are for boosting credits, free experience, speeding up commander training and collecting the necessary experience if you want to unlock the next level ship.
