- Опубліковано 25 бер 2020
- We know that hundreds of you were really upset to be missing the Cape Town International Jazz Festival performance, and so were all of us. So, we decided to perform the entire CTIJF set for Mandisi's fans, AND we streamed it "LIVE" on Thursday 26th March 2020, so that you could watch it in your own home. This date is very significant for South African's, as at midnight we began our first LOCKDOWN period to try and stabilise this pandemic that has taken us all to test. We now have decided to let it be available for the people that missed the opportunity. We hope you enjoy the magic that is Mandisi Dyantyis and his incredible band. Inkosi inisikelele sonke

This man in 2024 still❤😭🤝
I remember the first time seeing Mandisi Live back in 2018 at Masambe Theatre in Baxter. This was before the album, Somandla, came out. I didn't know who this artist was but I remember having been moved by the intro of that show (Molweni). I kept recordings of the snippets I took at that show and listened to them religiously 'til the album came out. Your music walked with me in that year. Year(s) later, and this performance restores that feeling that stirred in me on that very first encounter.
To you and your team, thank you for this treat. Your music will live on forever in my life.
Enkosi.
Don't mind me, I'm watching this for the 100th time today.
Same with me🙈
Yhooo I just can't leave it and every time the tears roll down my cheeks

Such talent, such richness of lyrics, such passion 😂😂
I discovered Mandisi Dyantyis a few days ago and I've lost count of how many times I've watched this performance. Totally breathtaking.
I am not a musician, but I am musical and love music. I never thought I'll be this excited again about a South African Artist. You sir just made me reminisce about yesterday, the days of Zim Ngqawana, Caiphus Semenya, Hugh Masikela, Mariam Makeba, Sankomota, Salif Keita, Oliver Mtukudzi, Abdullah Ibrahim, Sipho Gumede, Selaelo Selota, Jonas Gwangwa, Tshepo Tshola. Can we please enjoy more of your music before you commercialise it. May God continue to bless you and grow you. #SexaphoneCelloThingz

Mandisi is just on another level. The band is on fire. Can we give Buddy Wells his flowers whilst he still alive, the man has played with a whole lot of our jazz artists. Big up Buddy🙏🏾

The voice of our progenitors, hailing...
You such a voice of honor, Bhuti Mandisi.
Wahlukaniselwe, only for a special purpose, your music is how you dish what God installed in you. And you dish up so well, black man.
Personally your music to me is very spiritual. I feel like I am going in some trance or spiritual world which is peaceful and free. Thank you. There was anyone like you and there would never be any.

"Zundinik'amandla okuthi cwaka ndiba jonge"

If you noticed a spike in streams the past few weeks it was me😂. I listen to this album every single day❤ I sing his praises wherever I go. I was sad to hear that the Jazz Fest had been cancelled.
Particularly on spotify.
Watched this last night...and will be doing so, forever.
Started googling him after seeing clips from Dr JJ Tabane from ETV. Power to truth.
Also love how during his little talks in between umane enqinisa the keyboard player on some "wena Blake" 😂
This performance has turned into a daily thing for me now, i can't stop listen to it.
To me too
What a beautiful concert, enjoy and share with friends and family
Thank you for the love...You never disappoint
My daughter just said 'oh its our Church Choir Master nhe Mama' I'm like yes baby and he is so awesome! We moved to PTA though we will wait for you guys this end
Mandisi Dyantyi is certainly a worthy heir to the great Victor Ndlazilwana. Albeit, they play different instruments, he surely is the contemporary torchbearer of the Afro Jazz genre. He’s alone at the summit ...
😊Thank you for sharing ❤️
Thank you for the music 👌👌👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💞
50:35 - "Isithandwa Sam" Whoooooah!
Right 😍 ?
When enough is enough, ngeny'imini bovukabantu babanyane bathathe lamandla.

I don't know how many times I've watched this (I even watched it when they were live) and somehow it gets better every single time I watch it... Thank you, Thank you and Thank you once again to Mandisi and every one who helped make this living room session possible, it had truly been a blessing❤️
This performance almost always brings me to tears.
Just here to listen to Hamba Mama for the 18th time. 🥺

I appreciate the back up singer. His voice is such a beautiful and necessary echo . Love it! 🌻😍💜 I also love how uBhut Mandisi occasionally makes love to his hair. 😍🌻💜
Wow🙌

I still can't get over it. 🎺🎷🎸🎹🎻

I'm working from home and am playing this in the background.
My soul is at peace! :):):)
This man has such a presence I was lost in his music at the Joburg zoo I already was before watching him live , oh but that performance was spiritual it healed me for some time
Shout out to good music, shout to our black brothers vibing to the music even when there is no subtle titles. This is Africa. Beautiful guys shout to Jazz.
how come i only know about mandisi ngo 2020 LEGEND
Mandisi is relaxed when he sings while very energetic when he is a choir conductor. Both characters are charming....,
What a Gem. I had to come here after seeing his performance at the Gauteng Jazz and Soul concert at the Sun Bet Arena 10th Dec.
I could listen to this over and over. All day every day 😍😍😍🙌🏾
Kwande idlozi lakho liyaphilisa... The way you deliver your music, is out of this world... Stay blessed 🙏

I went to this same show in December 2019. And I have a short recording of this song @1:18:25 on my phone that I've been listening to since. Finally can hear the full thing again
I'm your new fan 😍👌
Watching for the 1st time, I was actually inspired by Siya Kolisi when he sang on his Instagram the “Mama” song! I was likeeee “how come i’ve just discovered such great music nowww”? Beautifully done! Marvelous art! The whole band was on fire 🔥
years later i still find myself obsessed with your talent. not a day goes by without me listening to your music. yes i have watched this performance a lot of times but it doesn't get old. people who don't follow you don't relate to what i feel but this comment section makes me feel "Normal" thank you for your craft
I salute you comrade (senzeni na) 💪🙏
Loved this❤2024
Emperor's Palace, si la!
Isthandwa sam, honestly guys if you are not moved by the band playing or rather mimicking a cry so beautifully, then I’m not sure what you need. My gosh this performance is awe inspiring and I’m always intrigued by how I always hear something new! Mandisi is really a MUSICIAN WITH SOUL!
The fact that I'm a coloured guy from Cape Town who don't even understand isixhosa, speaks to the power of this man's music. I've beeeeeeeeeeen listening to this 🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️. Enkosi Mandisi🙏🏽!!!!
😊😊😊😊Everyday all day
❤❤❤i luv dis man
Safika isigidimi song did not make sense in 2020. I still had my mother around. In fact, all my parents were all alive by the time this was posted. Last year in October we laid Madlomo to rest after the second Pfizer jab. Ingoma yenkedama hits differently now. To be an orphan feels surreal. I always have to remind myself that my parents watch over me from beyond the veil. These songs really bless me to process my grief and find healing.
A poetic storyteller filling the spirit of the listener with melodies that melt the soul. Enkosi Grootman!
Can't get enough of this Living room session.... Missing my late Mama kulemini and Mandisi is just helping me get through this day with his soothing vocals....
Hello guys. Yes, I am Tsepiso . I am comedian and a runner. OOH! I am still looking for Mgqobho. It's a mission hey.
Tsepiso Nzayo 😂😂😂😂
" I search " is a song that i want on my graduation day.
Whatever happened on the track at 15 min is beyond nature itself. 😭😭😭 God appeared before me.
"Bathi namhla yile bathi ngomso yile "😭😭😍🥰🙌Enkosi bhuti marn
I don't know how many times I've watched this these past couple of days... ❤️
So good.
Gifted. You and your band are gifted. Time travel is possible. The vessel is your music. I suddenly find myself in an unspecified time. Everything is peaceful. Not too many details on what constitutes the peacefulness, it's all foggy. You know...? Like how most of your childhood was foggy... Uncomplicated... But you knew you were happy. I'm not even sure that I've traveled to my childhood or not. It's all low resolution goodness. It's not detailed. It's uncomplicated. It's satisfying.
I've time travelled. Your music is the vessel, and for two hours, I'm not in South Africa. I'm not on lockdown. I am somewhere else. I hope everyone else reading this enjoys the trip. Your music is the vessel. Enkosi Mtakwethu
Jeez, its like I'm there and seating along.... What a journey ..
Siyabonga Siyabulela 😭😭😭
Came here for the "mama" song. Now I find myself listening to "nenyi mine". Ba zo Vuka bantu stru.

At least once in my life, I have to see this man live... I felt thoroughly entertained from start to finish.
Ndinje ngumama...... feel like crying.... thanks Mandisi what a nice song.

You did well there Unity as a back up artist.
the song about our leaders, the introduction to it really hit a nerve , its so sad to be able to be so free as foreigners in another country, but when you go home you constantly looking over your shoulder scared for your life at every second...kodwa ngenye imini sovuka sithathe amandla
When sir Mandisi starts singing, tears flow out uncontrollably. We need more of you sir, very few produce like you do. Keep doing what you are doing. More lives are not just touched but saved bhuti. Thank you Dyani!🙏
