Purchased one in 2015, hardly used it, found it today and plugged in the charger. Surprised to see the date and time were exactly correct. I'm going to try it out as a webcam to film my electronic music.
I just want to clarify that the "extra" back casing is not an "extra" one, One is not waterproof and lets the sound go through, the other has no slits and IS waterproof.

This camera is awesome, only thing is there are several models and if you get one of the lowest priced you may be disappointed.
I know the one I have is on par with any of the more expensive cameras, the quality and colors are better than the pro, and I'm not alone. plenty others have made the same discovery. Nice vid Rob. Thank you.

10:19 Yes there is a point to shooting @ 60fps, and it is to make better slow-motion shots @ 0.5 speed
I love my Sj4000 wifi. I wished the build quality was better, but at less than half the price of a gopro hero 3, you really can't complain. Especially with all the mounts that come with the camera.

Place a small piece of sticky back foam in the inside of the battery cover, then install the cover. When you remove the cover, it will pop up from the foam pushing against the battery!

It's clearly the same camera as the Club Clipsal but the Club Clipsal screens a little larger, also a few different options in the menu but other than that its the same item.

Can you hear the audio at the phone? Example SJCAM SJ4000 is at the living room and I am at the bedroom, can I hear the living room audio from my smartphone in bedroom? Thanks
Hmm, I ordered a SJCam SJ4K, No where does it say SJ4000,but the shipping order said SJ4000, the box SJ4K, no user manual. So, are they the same?
Does It work for zoom calls????? My intention is to use It outdoors, and also as a replacement for my bad quality computer built in camera to give English classes by zoom.

how do I turn the picture setting up side down so to speak , I have the camera fitted to the rear of the saddle to hence it's videoing upside down , on the gopro there a setting to reverse it how can you do it on the sj4000 - thanks

I have an old SJ 4000 cam. I dont think mine has WiFi. Where can I find the old manual.
Is it possible to run video-recording on the SJ4000 while it is connected to USB (and charging ?)
In other words, could I make a setup where I use it with a USB powerbank or charger and thus record until the SD-card's full ?
It stops recording thou it supposed to be auto recording lols and it doesn't. I used my 32gb sd card with it. How should I fix it?

I have watched a few of your videos & they are very useful especially as I have never owned such a gadget before & mine didn't come with any instructions, plus me being something of a Philistine doesn't help. :) Can you tell me how I transfer video to my (Mac) computer? When I connect the SJ4000 via USB (from the socket next to the HDMI socket) it just reads "Mass Storage & PC Camera" & there is no indicating icon or anything showing up on my computer? I would be grateful if you could tell me how to do this part?
looks like speed of taking photo is rather slow and takes some time to "reboot/recover" before I can shoot another photo.. i guess burst mode would help if i wanna capture photos without missing any moments e.g. fireworks etc.
in a dilemma to purchase SJCAM wifi or rent gopro HERO 4 silver for travelling.. any advise?

Wifi works for video, but when I switch to camera, it never manages to connect to wifi (loses the connection it had with video). Any workarounds?

How do I delete videos of they are protected cause I've got that camera and i recorded a video for too long and the video was too bad for me to upload it and I want to delete it but when I try it says Protected!
You'll probably have to format the card.

ItsGhostzx same issue with my camera its too annoying
...........mine has a heading in settings called "unlock"....and miraculously ...it worked to get rid of a file I could not "delete" . Unfortunately, there are so many manufacturers that a common set of instructions cannot be found.

do you know if the sj4000 camera will fit into a go pro housing? I know the buttons do not line up but I am looking to use an underwater dome which only seems to be available for a go pro?

Hi all, is there anyway to make it so that it is not in "fisheye" mode at all? or is this impossible to change?
Good video. I needed to look up something up in the settings so I clicked on the hyperlink you had there. I notes that you said that there was no point using 7020p 60. You might want to use that if you were doing something that made you go very fast to try and make the picture no bury as the frame rate will make the video smoother. So that setting could be helpful.
Good point, but the problem with 720p 60fps on the Sj4000 is that the camera is just repeating frames, so you don't get any benefit at all. Thanks for watching!

my sj4000 cam is lagging ... why? well I was trying it .. when my brother let me borrow it ... then after recording .. its like freeze .. I push all of the buttons .. and nothing happen .. please tell me why the cam did this.. is it ... like broken or smthg ? cuz the first moment I used it ... it doing just fine.....

Hey Rob, great videos. Could I please ask, HOW do you upload SJCAM video/images to a macbook? I cannot figure it out it is driving me nuts lol. There's many tutorials for connecting it to wifi mobile devices, but I can't for the life of me get it on my laptop.
Get a card reader, plug that into your mac, and transfer the files via that, it's much easier and quicker.

Hi, when I recording in circle shorts sequences in 1 min, how can I locked the one video (1min) form others. i mean that the camera will be still replace the others video with new videos but the locked will stay, do you understand me? :D
Help - I am trying to transfer videos and pictures from SJCAM SJ4000 to my MacBook pro. Says no pictures, but the pictures show on the camera. I purchased a new SanDisk and formatted it on my Mac - thought that would fix the problem, but same thing - no pictures show up. Any ideas? I leave tomorrow for Galapagos Islands

Can it be hooked up to USB for constant power?
When I'm recording is the red light supposed to flash and then the yellow light supposed to flash? And when I push the power button 3 times it says NO IMAGE on the screen! Should I take the ad card out and format it on the computer or from inside the camera?
+Diego 541 OK, so I format my cards in my computer. Do this then try again. Record a short video, then take the card out and transfer the files to your PC to have a look at them. Good luck!

Great video , I learnt a lot ..but how do I share the videos using messenger or email?
Tricky. The videos are so large the only real option is to upload them to youtube or facebook and share them from there, by sending people the links. Remember a video can be unlisted, where only people who have the link can see it, if that's what you want.
Do you have a video that explains the EXACT type of cable to use...and how to use it to attach the SJ4000 to my laptop...or more importantly to my HDTV?

Sorry, I haven't go that cable - but it looks like a mini hdmi to normal hdmi type.

Mine can't be used on WiFi. It says its connected with my router when I set it up, but I get a connection failed once I disconnect the LAN, every time. Any idea's?
My SJ4000 does not connect with my router, but creates its own WiFi hotspot - the default SSID name and password can be left as they are. I then connect to that SJ4000 WiFi hotspot on my phone and use the Google Play Store app 'SJCAM'. It's best to turn off 'mobile data' on your phone since it will complain about 'no internet' and may try to connect to the internet using your cellular network provider.
Nice video I just got me the original SJCAM SJ4000 WiFi Action Video Cam .I was wondering if I need to update the software ? Because the video you're showing to go through menu buttons . And it shows video mode camera mode playback mode and settings. Mine shows video mode camera mode and no file mode and it goes into Setup.

+Ken Sapir I think you can, but it would take a long time because of the very large high quality file sizes. Swap the card around instead.
