In the pursuit of self cultivation I have lived in China/ Taiwan for nine years studying Taiji. During which time I have touched hands with over fifty internal martial artist of “inner door” accomplishment. After meeting Douglas Wolf and several of his classmates I can irrefutably say that they combine inner mechanics and intention in the most superb system I have encountered. There is no grueling physical training for long hours, on the contrary the training is purely intellectual, enjoyable, and invigorating. Anyone who visits Mr. Wolf will be quite literally shocked full of revelations and qi. No other main stream Taiji available compares to this system.
I had the honor and the privilege to meet Doug this past month. I can sincerely say that Doug is a highly accomplished and talented tai chi practitioner and teacher. Doug has over 30yrs of martial arts experience and currently learns this remarkable tai chi skill under the guidance of Master Zhu in Beijing China. In the short time I spent with Doug, I experienced this amazing non-physical tai chi power and joyful energy unlike I have ever experienced before. This tai chi power is very real and directly experiential, I believe it! I have no doubt of its power and application. Most practical, Doug is able to explain and demonstrate this extraordinary tai chi power and skill in practical ways. I can honestly say, I am only just beginning to understand this true tai chi skill and power. I am forever grateful for this experience. Thank you, Doug!
I have never had the opportunity to be around anybody who has these skills. The effortless nature and happy interaction between master and student is a treat to see.
It was fate that led me to Master Zhu. We always practiced this way, like two children playing, with open hearts. I was blessed to have Chinese two teachers like this. There will never be another Zhu Chun Xuan, I miss my dear friend very much. Thank you for your comment and interest.
Very impressive. I firmly believe in what I am witnessing on this video. Doug, the man in the video, taught me tai chi in Cleveland about 20 years ago. I learned a great deal under his mentorship. If you are unfamiliar with tai chi and have never done tuishou (push hands) before, you will not fully understand what is happening in this video and may find this difficult to grasp. However, I assure you, that this kind of power is very real--although it is quite rare these days.
Thank you for your testimonial Jeremy. Long time no see! I have changed in the last 12 years so I hope maybe we can meet up in Beijing so you can get a feel for this.
Hi woldage. Care to explain a but more detail of your experience here and any relevant context for what's happening. Doesnt seem realistic response to many people who may be sceptical. Thanks.
Hi this is explained clearly in the taiji classics but most do not understand these meanings. He is not separate nor against my intention or strength. I could talk all day, but this must be felt and experienced and cannot be learned in my opinion without the teachings of one who has a clear understanding.

I have extensive experience with this type of practice from xingyi, bagua, and taijiquan. Feeling the difference in the applied intention of each of those systems in this context is extremely informative to say the least. Are you in china or in the states?

As my understanding, the force of the old master might come from the tree, which means the man who stands might be fighting against the tree. And it could be more reasonable.
Its not from the tree its coming from his mind as it is from mine, his intent and mind is much stronger than mine. If one stands against any immovable object they can possibly learn from this in the beginning stages and try to duplicate that feeling.
Right now, I'm in china on holidays, I would like to meet him before to go back home. And of courses, I will appreciate to have also your experience. But I don't live in US

Great stuff, the Wang Yong Quan lineage of Taichi is really more impressive than any other I've seen, too bad not many people here can appreciate such skill, thanks so much for sharing, wish one day I could visit Master Zhu too.
You can find these skill in many other Yang an Wu style Masters. Gin Soon Chu, Fang Ning,Huang Sheng Shyan,Gao Zhuangfei, Zhu Datong, just a few for example I could name more.

+woledage Hello I have been doing a lot of research lately trying to find inner peace, may I ask if you can explain what you felt while this was happening? Such as, did it feel like Electicity, or static going through you? Perhaps only at single points on your body? Or maybe like a magnetic field? I would really like to learn more, it is fascinating.
Thank you for your interest. Bruce Lee once said; Greater than truth, knowledge, and so on...to which nothing can compare to IT. Any part of the body can be effected. Research isn't good enough one must find a great teacher to learn, study and practice.
Nothing like eletricity or static. Magnet? Maybe. For my experience (with another master), it felt like the master did something to distort my balance then only he push me away. To me, it shouldn't be mystified and we can explain it all with physics.
Master Zhu is quite old now right? How is his health, I'm from Shi Ming lineage, which is like an offshoot of the Wang Yongquan lineage, always wanted to visit master Zhu but never found the opportunity, does he still see visitors these days?

I am near Cleveland Ohio
Where does the master zhu stay ? Is it in china ?
He is in China but I believe no longer is he accepting students. I am not a master, but I can teach his methods.
