Wow THANK YOU....im 42 yrs old and ive been scratching since I was a teenager...d-styles has been my absolute favorite for most of my life....I just think his attitude is awesome, remarkable, and he seems down to earth, at very least this video was easy to understand and thorough enough for all skill levels. THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO!!! I wish I had seen it before now!
I've always liked D-Styles as a teacher because as so many that teach are either hamster style or left handed record/right hand fader) - his scratch style is basic for most beginners (left hand fader, right hand record) yet he can be the most technically intricate scratching vocabulary wise
i dont think there really is a correct beginner assumption on which hand on record vs fader. i think it’s more a question of philosophy, one chooses either strong hand fader or strong hand record. q and d i think were part of old school focus on articulation of record, so that’s why started strong hand record. lucky for us they helped to open up intricate fader techniques with intricate hand record techniques. i think most who do strong fader do so learning in mid to late 90s when new fader techniques like crabs came out.
I was meant to be going to sleep. I thought, I'll watch a bit, then watch the whole thing tomorrow. I ended up watching the whole thing in one go! That's how relaxing it was. Helped me wind down and sleep, lol. Dope, more please. Thanks
*_Gracias D-Styles por esta clase muy buen calentamiento para esta fria mañana, saludo cordial desde Medellin Colombia, a todo Beat Junkies a Babbu, Melo-d y J-rock._*
This was so much fun scratching along with D-Styles! Made me realized what I'm rusty on and what exactly I need to be practicing more often! #stayfocused
Your man. I realise I need to work on my record hand. Chirps are just so basic. But know that really. Before I started training all I could do was chirps or I call them bad stabs! Supposed to be stabs. But now I know more my chirps are badly need work.
Dude has crazy record control. You can basically hear a scale when he's showing you highs to lows / lows to highs. This is an excellent practice follow-along
Hehehe. When D is doing Q & A with the beginner stuff. I'm going to do somthing more advanced and pretend we are in a battle and I'm winning every round! Not found any proper Q&A with D-styles so this is just soooo good. Cheers again D
Hello D Styles your djing is cool yes the Beat Junkies make me want to be a better DJ. What an inspiration to other djs out there young and old, I am inspired by yall. Keep up the good work, stay safe and God bless.
I just wanna say God bless the beat junkies for putting out stuff like this . and the 32 fools who disliked this video are bottom of the barrel humans .
I love these home room sessions. So fun. If i heard correctly D accents the first sound of the pullback of his 2-click flares so the backward part goes Hi-Lo-Lo. I needed to hear that. I can do the 2-click movements pretty fast but i haven't been happy with how they sound, i think i was missing the pitch changes cause when i add those it i can now see how, after more practice, they'll lead to a 2-click that i'm happy with. I appreciate these Home Rooms so much. Thanks BeatJunkies and D-Styles!
Yeah to reproduce that hand movement is hard. Iv got a problem with my 1 click flare just does not sound that good as D. It's the pull back I'm struggling with lol.
Yo thanks man appreciate it really helping us out especially tearing this Coronavirus stay-at-home policy we got going on with the government thanks a lot man San Diego
He's a good brother and a great teacher. I agree In dominant hand starting on the record. I am left handed and I had to start with my left hand on the record. Of course, practice all ways. My right on the fader felt weak and slow at the beginning. But, as a left handed person I am already very ambidextrous. Example: using the computer mouse, many musical instruments, and every day tools I have been trained to use my right hand. It took me longer to adapt to crab "Crepe" which was frustrating to see right handed friends crabbing faster. Overall, using my left hand dominant does let me express better as if I was dancing, I can get more funky, if that makes since. Peace: DJ Anwar Supreme
hey dejay,s just wonna say a special thank you for your time well spent i,m djflames out of jamaica watching your video and practising but can,t beable to catch on the scrible i guest i,m having some problem with the finger timing but i,m trying still respect alot bro
That wasn’t advanced? Ohh shh*%. I’m in BJIOS intro with Rhettmatic. Appreciate this a lot with the skill progression; different rhythms, high to low, when the skratches increased speed - that was crazy. Feels like a master class - looking forward for more and getting better 👊🏽#GOAT #legend
D, awhile back I asked you what cartridge you were using in another video. You said a Taruya out of Japan. Do you have a 03M white cartridge or the FPC-07M Silver cartridge? The reason I ask is because I purchased the White 03M to use with my Vestax pdx-2000mk2 turntable and just wanted to know how great the cartridge is.... Thanks
I know this is a year old and the virus thing was just getting going, but why the hell would you wear a mask alone inside like that? even a year ago that was pretty useless to wear a mask by yourself

Hello friend fresh
Where's D Styles been, haven't seen him in a few months....
from France
Best breakdown of record time manipulation in a class. Thanks D!
🤙👍👌🙌❤️❤️❤️🇵🇭🙏🏻 idol dstyles
what are some of your favorite scratch combinations?
What instrumental is this?
I’ve heard z-trip drop this before with a J 5 vocal. Not sure if it was a mash up or an original...
Music starts at 1:25
👉🏽D-Styles
You know how skaters play skate why don't we adjust the game of skate and call it scratch same rules one Dj does a combo next Dj has to repeat it etc
yeah
All my respect for you legendary cut master but what’s up with the mask thing? 🤦🏼👁
What's that beat
👏🏻🇵🇭
