Why did he pull from the bottom?
Rope still will knot sometimes always has to be re flaked.
I think if you "burrito" the rope it is easier to flake as well once you open the bag.

What’s the best place for the belayer and rope bag to be relative to the first clip of the route?
I find this bag hard to use. The rope knots up when you drop it inside the bag and also the bag gets in the way under the tarp when it’s full. Not to mention the bag is on the ground and gets filthy. I prefer the petzl Burrito
