You said it best, you really brought your Bull Moose to life! This locomotive was the perfect candidate for a Blunami upgrade, and you were able to do it yourself! Well done Mike!! - Ryan
Awesome job on that engine Mike, looks awesome! Thanks for all the info on the transition, I'm feeling pretty confident now about trying blunami in a future purchase.
Truly awesome work and I love the 'Yes' sound you made when it first ran correctly. That's what I would do and I completely understand that feeling when a major project comes out to be a success. I would love to try this in the future. One concern on the newer Lionel engines is parts availability, especially the main board; with technology like this you could fix that issue on your own, and if there ever becomes an ability to upload soundsets (or can you now?) you might be able to come close to or even better than original!
Depends. BluNami can work with anything, so if you’ve got Lionel, MTH, or just power to a track it’ll work. Proto3 will only work with the WTIU and such. So if you’re only using MTH stuff for your control system I could see Proto3 as a more viable option.
@Dadified86 well that's kind of my issue, it's the only MTH locomotive I have, and my other locomotives are lionel. I would like to avoid having to buy and MTH control system to keep cost down. I believe blunami is cheaper than proto3. I also have an old Atlas and 2 Williams locomotives I'd like to upgrade and run. So there's my dilemma.
I’ll ask him for ya! Usually Instagram or Discord are best but I know he’s been really busy recently. Being the go-to guy for BluNami probably has his inbox bursting at the seams! 😅
@@3-Rail-Tales-Dad you’ll want to find the SoundTraxx 884609 BLU-4408 with the appropriate sounds. I used the one for “Steam 2” but there’s ones for diesels, too.
A great and successful project, Dadi! This Bull Moose is now a champion on the layout. Moves and looks great, right on track. Brilliant!

This is genuinely such a cool model, ive never even heard of the UP bull moose until i saw this one, it looks so at home on your O-48 layout, love it!
Great job Mike!
(And you've got a hell of a lot more guts than I do!) a
Good job 👍👍
Very nice 👍👍

Awesome video. Thank you. If I'm looking to upgrade an MTH would you suggest this to be the best route or would you go with proto3?

Did you just use AC power for track power? 🤠
Perfect time for a Bridge Rectifier! ⚡️
@Dadified86 oh ok!
A needle in the haystack?
Only 100 were made for this engine.
Great upgrade Mike. Plan to get the ROW brass UP extended vision caboose that goes with this engine?
That would be a great addition to the lineup! I’ve got plenty of UP cabooses currently but if a RoW one shows up at a good price I might have to! 😅
Great video Mike. Blunami is a game changer.
Hey dadified what the best way to contact Sid I’ve tried emailing him or reaching out to him on insta and forums to no avail can ya help me out?
