I think Rhett's story about Sean explains why all the rescue dogs are at least part chihuahua. It may also explain why Sean is not the smartest dog - his tuny body can fit only so many things.
Seriously, though, I bet Barbara will put Sean in his place - unless Sean already got traumatized by his Dad seeing him at a vulnerable moment. 😂
The dog in my grand father house started humping on my old puntured football. He definitely isn't the smartest dog and I don't know where is picked it up from as we never left him in any dog care center. He used to like interact with a female street dog which my neighbour was temporarily taking care of, although they are seperated by the main gate of the house.

As someone who works at a dog daycamp, I'm sorry and some of us try our best. My advice is about the mounting problem is some obidence training. They often do that to show dominence.

Rhett, you've just got to let them do what they're gonna do. They'll set their own boundaries. The only thing you really can do is offer them a cigarette or some water afterwards.
And content yourself with the knowledge that if it's possible, they've probably already done it.
that last sentence got me
not entirely true. some training can be done as females in most species can't set these boundaries. plus, humping in general can be an indicator of stress or boredom. it's important to protect your female dogs because it's not fun for them to be assaulted like that repeatedly.
The dog facing north thing is legit! I lived in an apartment and my dog would take forever to poo. I read an article that mentioned the north thing, walked him to the northern part of the property, and he'd go within a few minutes. Worked like a charm every walk after that!

Dogs humping isn’t for what Rhett thinks it is. Usually dogs will hump for dominance reasons or to relieve anxiousness, stress, or for attention. It’s the same reason why dogs destroy things. Separating dogs or putting them in their crate can help these animals when they start doing this. Researching is always best though

From someone with three male pets (2 cats, 1 dog) they absolutely can still do that when they’re fixed. The older cat will be grooming and accidentally turn himself on, the younger cat doesn’t seem to realize he’s fixed and tries to get fresh with our female cat, and the dog seems to be the one who’s….presenting most often
