I've watched so many Ozu films and now I am getting into Naruse's films. I am so accustomed to seeing Chishu Ryu in Ozu's films that I was happily surprised to see him in this one of Naruse. Thanks for sharing this film. It's not always easy to find Japanese films with English subtitles here on UA-cam.

入江たか子以外はほとんど洋装で通行人に至るまで徹底しています。
ベートーベンのBGMにジャズでダンスですか。
対照的な二人の女性と狂言回しの女性がいて、まだ荒削りながら戦後女性映画の巨匠成瀬の発展過程が見られます。
一応メロドラマながらカラッとした雰囲気は二部に分かれていても飽きずに見ていられます。
ひねた大学生の嵯峨善兵とブティックのマダム洋装の清川玉枝が見もの。

ありがとうございます。1930年代の映画ばかり観るようになってしまいました。第一次世界戦後の国連常任理事国日本は西欧化で一等国を模倣しているかのようです。自動車といい，社交ダンスといい，欧米に似せたメロドラマにも見えます。
外交官？になるご婦人候補選び。各人が美男美女で素敵ですから目移りするのは分かりますが，愛を誓い合った同士なのに，すぐ別の異性を好きになる神経がわかりません。そこが見世物になるのでしょうか。胸糞悪く思う青年の生き方ですね。仕方がなかったと言い訳がましく弁明する青年に腹を立て泣く恋人。現実の話とは思えません。嫌味が先立ちました。
学芸会なみの口調の台詞、なんとかすればよかったのに(って思わせる脇役)
たまにこういう、それならわざわざ昔の映画観なければ良いのに、って思うコメントする人いますよね
