Love your dad in the hammock, looks like he has this camping figured out. I always like your eating out segments on your travel videos. The turkey Rueben at the deli & the hamburger at Moon Goddess looked fantastic! Love the grist mill & museum visits too.
Sue Wolfe- Thank you for this video. My grandparents took my mother and aunt, born before 1920, when they were kids and my parents brought us here before i was even born. We spent time each summer here at a site near the amphitheater, if it's still there. I have grandchildren of my own, now. I remember Jenkins General Store and they had horseback riding across the street. Later they added a campground when Deep Creek was full, you could stay there. We had our own tubes to enjoy the rapids on and made wonderful memories! Thanks for taking me back in time! ❤❤
Oh I love this! Deep Creek and Bryson City have always been so special to my family as well. We have actually now moved here we loved it so much! I’m so glad this brought back so many wonderful memories for you! ♥️
Our neighbors in Miami heard us talking about it so much that they built a house in BC and moved there. I can't say that I blame them. That was many years ago, and I'm sure things have changed. The Jenkins family owned a small white motel on the left side of the road right before you drove into the park. I'm sure that's all gone now, too. We took the train to Nantahala 30 years ago, which wasn't even a thing back when I was a kid. We'd come into town and go to Swain's drug store for a hamburger and shake. Yum!

While you are here you have to try the Bryson City Bakery (it’s incredible), Bryson City Outdoors has a tap room and always has great food trucks out there, Anthony’s has amazing pizza and calzones, the yard is a fun place to grab a drink and play yard games, and Everett street diner has great breakfast. I love the Smoky mountains. I went to Cade's Cove for my sister's wedding. Going through the mountain community I was taking pictures like a madwoman,lol.
You should be a videographer for a tour group--You cover it all with a little humor blended in. Plus, you tell it like it is & appreciate your honesty!
