Hi Curtis , Sonia, Dusty, and Sandy. That was a brilliant lekker chilled day in the park. Nice riding around seeing all the wildlife. Glad you got to flim the fish eagle lifting a fish out of the muddy water. It was hardly a challenge, though, but good nevertheless. Glad the lion is OK now. It's still worrying about the hippos that have hardly moved. Thanks for the opportunity to ride around around with you virtually. .
You are so lucky to every day have this much sightings and action. KNP is thriving thats for sure. Thank You for bringing your camera into my home🎉❤🎉much appreciated❤🎉❤
Another day of awesome sightings, from the snake crossing the road to the springhare mesmerized by the vehicle's headlights to the hyena almost within an arm's length away near your tent site, and so much more. Definitely not a boring day. I enjoyed every minute of the ride on day 13. Thank you.
Apart from the wild animals the vegetation is really beautiful. Once again a very nice trip. Thank you I appreciate your time and effort. Next trip you will once again have to tollerate me
Hi guys from sunrise watching baboons to the night watching hyena by the fence throughly enjoyed this video and Curtis you have now joined the club of fish Eagle with a fish in its claws sighting!!! Amazing. Its great to meet people where come love it .I have tried to explain how big the Kruger is and as you say the roads only cover a fraction. The barmaid was a diamond sorting out lemon and the rest of the workers seem so friendly. And how brilliant the story of the dam keeps evolving a croc turned up for the party plus the jackal and the the hyena brothers. Even when you got to see a rabbit on the tracks. Great video thanks for taking me along cheerio till the next one
You finally found one of the best dams in the KNP, Shimangwaneni, good on you! We have seen almost every animal that lives in the Park, except for Rhino at this dam. Last year the water level was so high that we didn't see a single animal, which is so unusual. There is usually Buffalo, Kudu, Zebra, Impala, Jackal and so many different bird species including Vultures. We have already booked some dates in the Park for next year....can't wait! One of my favorite places on this Planet, also. Keep the wonderful videos coming and cheers from Long Beach, California U.S.A.
Here is a very interesting, but true, story about Shimangwaneni Dam from a book called "101 Kruger Tales". On a night drive from Orpen, a group of tourists were shocked to find a German couple having a night time bath in the dam. The guide naturally called the woman out and she was most upset at having her "bath" interrupted. Nonchalantly and quite naked she came out with no skaam at her nakedness, ranted at the guide for insisting she get out of her "pool". He then turned her around to look into the dam and she observed all the crocodile and hippo eyes in the dam. Needless to say she and her husband were shocked.
I am also shocked by the Nsemani Dam. Never have I seen it so empty. The same applies to Girivana. I have seen it with as little water as Nemani is now. I wonder if they have stopped pumping from the windmill next to the vlei?
Hi Guys, as you have said there were a lot of places that were burnt, I was an Honary Ranger for quit a few years, and learned a lot then, the reason for most fires are controlled fires, when the weather is right they burn areas in a block every few years about every five years or so to stimulate growth, they have cold burns which only burns the grass and then hot fires which burns small bushes. this is done because the park is contrrolled area and they simulate fires that would have burned normanly. There are un controlled fires which the park fight.I have been going to the park every year since 1977 and have never missed a year and always at Satara, when I started there was no power in camp sites and picnic spots had abig cement circle where there was a fire in and you would use a spade to get coals to braai those were th good old days I miss.
